CORONADO HARDWARE

Been here in New Smyrna Beach less then a year. Remolding old home we bought. Big items I go to Home Depot but for small items I try to support local's. Been going to Coronado Hardware many times. Never been welcomed with a smile but did have some helpful advice once from an employee. Need a small tube of plumbers putty. Stopped in an was looked at in the usual way, without a friendly smile. Had to asked for help, not the other way around. Helper just pointed in the direction of where the putty was shelved. Got to the general location and did not see it. Asked again and young man walked over and pointed at the product while snapping, "it is down there". Picked up the putty, walked up to the counter where a older man took the putty and rang it up. I handed him a credit card and he just looked at me for a few seconds, then he took his right index finger and pounded on the counter top over a sign that read no credit card purchase under 5 dollars. I looked thought my wallet and said I have not cash. Sorry was all I got out of him. So I said are you really going to make me drive out to Home Depot. He just stared at me. I will admit I gave him the same, go to h*** look back for a few seconds, turn around and walked out. I have spent money in that hardware store and because of there stubbornness they lost a local resident forever. I would rather drive to Arkansas to get a needed item then go five blocks to Coronado Hardware. They don't smile, they are not friendly and have no business savvy. Just think for a lousy $1.50 they lost a customer forever, who no doubt in time would have made up the difference.
