Village Sweep

Ken was fantastic. We had storm damage to our chimney which dented the flue inside. The house is old enough that we had to replace the entire fireplace from top to bottom. Ken spent probably 2 hours just talking to me about what needed to be done and why. Once we finally got our insurance check Ken quickly scheduled us for the work knowing that we were in the process of selling the house and getting the chimney fixed was mandatory. I was worried the project could take several weeks, but Ken was almost completely done in 5 days. Ken was very respectful of our property and went to great lengths to minimize dust, protect our floors, and he always did an excellent job keeping the work area clean. Ken even found potential fire hazards in the old chimney that needed to be corrected. The result was a new fireplace with all the problems fixed. We've had many experiences with contractors and our experience with Ken was clearly the best we've ever had. I highly recommend Ken!

Ken is great! We have 2 fireplaces, both needed some repairs and cleaning. He came out and spent several hours fixing the issues, putting in new caps, and cleaning both chimneys. He was prompt, professional, friendly, prices were reasonable, explained what he was doing, and took pics before and after to show us exactly what he did. He also does dryer vent cleaning, so we had him do that as well while he was there. There wasn't one speck of dust around either chimney after he left, he just did a great job! We highly recommend him, and will definitely call him again when we need help!

Great! Ken did a very thorough job. Showed us the problems and kept us involved throughout the procedure. No wasted motion. Cleaning took just over an hour. Total time from my initial phone call to him to job completion was a little over three hours.

Ken George did an outstanding job. I called him in the morning and he came out that evening around 5:00 p.m. I was astonished at how much lint came out of my vent. He spent about a half hour doing the whole job, including climbing on to my roof and checking my vent around the opening. He had all of the necessary equipment to do a thorough job and I was very impressed at the end results.

It was a difficult job due to the configuration of my home vent system. Village sweep took the time to get it right and it made an enormous difference for my dryer. I mentioned about cleaning out my chimney, but he recommended to wait until after this winter season in that it looked fine for now. He could have easily done it and charged me anyway and I woulld not known any difference. I have used them in the past and highly recommend them.

I've used this company for the last six years for maintaining my fireplace and dryer vent. The owner is the guy who does all my work and he seems competent in his profession. He is a hard working guy which seems to be hard to find now a days.

He was on time, and very clean. He was very friendly and personable. It was good service. I would tell a friend to definitely call him. There is no other. The guy is wonderful, he really is. His price was average. The quality was excellent.

They were punctual. They came out and did the job. I felt that they were very honest. They didn't try to say that there was something wrong to make additional money. He knew what he was doing. He seemed experienced. He got the job done quickly. He even got on a ladder to check it out.

He cleaned up everything really well. He recommended having the dryer vent cleaned every 2 years. We will use him again for this in the future and I would recommend him to others!

My dryer was taking too long to dry clothes. I had this problem back in Aug 2009, when my roof was replaced by another Angie's List provider, and the vent was covered by the roof mistakenly. Ken came out at that time (after I paid for a dryer repair call- and being told my "vent was blocked"- ) and was the one who discovered that the vent was "roofed over". After the roofer corrected the problem, Ken came and cleaned out the dryer vent. The dryer worked fine until recently. Again, I had the dryer repair man come out (got him from Angie's- same as before) and said again "the vent is blocked". Called Village Sweep and Ken came within the hour. He checked the roof vent and removed a clogged screen. Both he and the dryer repair guy had told me I didn't NEED a screen. All I needed is the "flap" that is on the end of the vent on the roof. The roofer had installed the vent with a screen AND a flap. The clogged screen was the problem. Ken still thought the dryer was getting too hot, and proceeded to clean the entire duct. I don't know if he felt bad for me or what, but said he didn't want to take my money for such a simple job. I asked him if he would consider installing 2 outside lights (on either side of the garage door) and I could pay him for those services to make the trip worth while for him. He was happy to oblige. He told me I got the "deal of the century" and I totally agree! I just wish I hadn't wasted the dryer guy's time and my money for HIS service call.

It went very well. He came over the same day. He also has a home improvement business- I would be interested in using this as well..

Ed came the same day we called for an appointment. He showed up on time, did a great job, and provided some recommendations on how to get maximum efficiency out of our particular unit. We used our fireplace on several occasions after that. We will call him next year for cleaning services.

VILLAGE SWEEP WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. WE HAD TO HAVE OUR FIRST CLOTHES DRYER REPLACED DUE TO OVERHEATING. BEING FROM THE NORTHERN U.S, WE WERE NOT USED TO HAVING OUR DRYER VENT UP THROUGH THE ROOF AS IT DOES HERE IN FLORIDA. LINT TENDS TO STICK AS THE AIR VENTS UPWARD AND THEN THE DRYER DOESN'T WORK AS EFFICIENTLY. VILLAGE SWEEP DID A THOROUGH JOB AND REALLY MADE OUR CLOTHES DRYER WORK VERY WELL.
