The Sod Farm

The company arrived for an estimate promptly and took all the measurements. I was provided an estimate of roughly $7,300.00 for approx. 7300 sq ft.. I decided to eliminate a portion to reduce the cost to $6,400.00 for approx.6500 sq ft.. I stopped by the business and provided a deposit to start the job. The company sprayed Round Up twice prior to the rip up and installation. The crew took one day to cut rip the old sod out and level the dirt. They installed the sod the next day. The crew worked hard and actually had three teenager working for them which was nice to see in this era. The crew finished and cleaned up prior to leaving. Two weeks later the sod looks fairly good in most places. The new sod is a little higher than the existing yard so I hope that levels out with time. My only and biggest gripe is the trail of hydraulic fluid drops left up and down my $20,000.00 paver driveway by their fork lift which obviously needs some maintenance. I contacted the manager about it and was basically told it's not their problem. The funny aspect is the employee who provided me the estimate for the job also does paver cleaning and sealing and left me a card for his service but they didn't offer to have him come out and try to remove the stains. I used dish soap, CLR and another stain remover to get the spots up but they only faded. Live and learn I guess. If I'd have known their fork lift leaked I would have picked up some tarps to cover the driveway. Make sure you ask any sod company about their equipment and usage prior to installing so you can take precautions to protect your property.
