Rock Solid Stone Center

I've purchased materials from this company on a number of dates and this is the only place I buy rocks, pebbles and stones. They have a good selection of interesting rocks and stones and are very patient while I pick them out individually. They are always helpful and always friendly. I've removed the grass in my backyard and have replaced with pebbles, which I also purchase here by the pound and the staff is careful when loading the pebbles in our truck (which I appreciate, even though it's a work truck). I indicated a zero cost of service because the cost varies depending on what I buy, but I do think their prices are reasonable for the materials that I purchase. FYI: I've not purchased other materials, like pavers or mulch, so I cannot comment on those items.

Larry Mayhill came to survey the site. He recommended a retaining wall to hold back the eroding soil and French drains to manage the water. He also suggested resurfacing the lanai to level it as any rain water stood in puddles next to the foundation whenever it rained. Since the front yard also needed drainage, he suggested replacing the ugly cement walk (hated it!) with pavers to match those in the lanai. The resurfacing job wasn't work that we initially planned to do immediately, but since we needed the retaining wall and drainage, and he made us a good price to do all the work at once, we decided to go ahead with all of it.

Larry was also the project manager for the job, and made sure that the workers had a walk-through of the site prior to beginning work the next day. He was able to answer questions in advance and show the workers the particulars of the site so that they could work in concert without any time-consuming delays. He promised that the primary stone work would be done within 3 days. I've heard that all before, and figured that we'd have the stone laid in two weeks if we were lucky. I became a believer when the incredibly fast crew finished the stone by the end of the third day! The drain crew finished by the end of the first day, and the stone crew started early on the second. All were absolute machines, digging out the base for the retaining wall, cutting and laying the pavers.

What a transformation! The lanai is now _beautiful_ where it was previously just functional with bad drainage, and the front yard is enhanced by the lovely pavers replacing the unattractive cement. Larry created a graceful curve for the walk and repaved the front porch. The same pavers are used in the lanai, unifying the appearance the property. Larry truly had the vision and experience needed to make our home a gracious showplace. Our neighbors literally stop in the street to congratulate us on such a beautiful metamorphosis.
