"Whenever turf is already stressed out from lack of water, as it was noted in the customer's account history that there was insufficient sprinkler coverage for certain sections of the lawn. The brown spots can appear to be a fungus to someone that has not been maintaining the lawn and understanding that the lawn has already been under stress in weeks prior. Although customers seem to be more pacified when a chemical/fungicide is put down on the turf, we would rather take the approach of educating the customer to the true cause and condition of the problem was just a lack of water and not actually a fungus. Applying extra water to the area as instructed would have caused the turf to outgrow the brown appearance. If we would have applied a fungicide only and the water/ sprinkler problem was not corrected, then the brown spots would only keep continuing every time there was a lack of rain giving the extra water needed."

"Any potential customer is explained the standard procedure of the German roach program during the inquiry into our office. The program includes an initial inspection & treatment at a reasonable flat rate, with a very detailed treatment plan and cost determined during the initial visit specifically based on the home’s condition. During the inspection for this customer, the program was explained by our Senior Technician and an agreement with detailed instructions signed and a copy left for the customer. This customer signed the agreement which had specific additional instructions circled, and even initialed the area where she was instructed of her responsibility to remove items from infested areas prior to treatment. These instructions included: eliminate clutter, remove items in infested cabinets & be patient. Unfortunately she chose not to comply with our recommendations and did not take advantage of the extended visits quoted. Re-infestations may occur if the outside infesting source is not identified, which was discussed in detail with this customer to help educate her in preventing future infestations. It seems that this customer expected unrealistic results even after we tried to educate and request her cooperation. Based on the severity of German roaches, success is not just the applying of professional products, it takes a homeowner’s effort."

"Upon reviewing lawn, we noticed areas that were greener where grass was taller. We noted to customer that the main problem is that the lawn is thick with thatch and it is also being cut too short (scalped). When any lawn is scalped, it will instantly take away the color especially during this winter season which is a slower growing time that we are in. Due to this dormancy we explained, it will take many weeks to grow out the scalped sections compared to the summer time growing season. Upon new growth in spring, we explained she would see the color and growth return quicker but at the present time there was nothing that we could do to quickly change the color of the grass. It was also explained to customer not to cut the lawn or do so as little as possible in these winter months. There were other neighboring lawns that we pointed out as well that were in the same condition, although some that were greener and more lush looking were clearly due to the turf height which was also explained. The Customer didn’t like our supervisor’s educated response however & closed the door in his face mid-conversation. It’s hard if not impossible to deliver ongoing desired visual results in one’s turf grass when recommendations aren’t willingly acknowledged and/or complied with."
