In May of 2014 I purchased a newly renovated house in Oldsmar, Florida. The contractor who did the renovations hired Paul Castello, of Castello?s Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, LLC, to install a new air conditioning system. The system was installed in March of 2014. In January of 2015 the air handler failed less than year after being installed. I called Paul Castello to make the repair under warrantee. He told me the defective part would be replaced at no charge because the manufacturer?s warrantee would cover the cost but I would have to pay him a service charge of $127.50 for the repair. When I asked him why the warrantee on the service charge wouldn?t cover the repair his response was that the warrantee was to the contractor who had done the renovations and did not transfer to the new owner.
