Could not be happier with Davey Tree. From start to finish, their work was exemplary. They are professionals in every sense of the word: knowledgeable, highly skilled, safety conscious, respectful, efficient and thorough. Watching the crew take down an 85' pine tree was awe inspiring, witnessing their coordination, teamwork, and pure joy in a job well done. We are far from Davey Tree's biggest clients, but they give us 100% every time we use them (the 5th time since Irma). I've used them for years and years. They are really good. I'm very pleased with them. It has worked really well. They are right on the spot all the time.

Called day before to let us know they would be arriving the next day. Company went about there business, cut the trees, cleaned up and we're done.

We called them to come out in February 2014 to look at a Eugenia hedge that is about 7 feet tall and screens our pool area from the adjacent golf course. The hedge was thinning dramatically, so I asked  Davey Tree to come out and take a look at it. The gentleman who came out suggested that we "deep root" fertilize the plants which we did at the cost of $160. This treatment consisted of spraying on the surface a liquid fertilizer. No other treatment was recommended except the replacement of one tree which was dead, I did this myself later in the spring.
A month or so later I saw that the thinning had gotten worse, so I went out myself and took a sprig off the plants, googled "diseases of Eugenia" and in about 30 seconds came up with what the problem actually was, the plants had a fungus infection. We are now treating the plants with another company.
Flash forward to February, 2015. I notice today some guys out by the hedges, they knock on my door and it is guys from Davey telling me they are here to do my "yearly" fertilization. I told them to go away, and feel fortunate that I was here to tell them. I called the company to find out what was going on, why they thought they were authorized to come out and do anything. I was told they sent me a letter in December outlining the upcoming service and that I would have had to call them to cancel it. I told them I probably saw their name on the letter and disposed of it without opening it.

My problem with Davey Tree is that they did not correctly diagnose the real problem, and sold me what I consider to be an overpriced and ultimately worthless fertilizer treatment when the actual problem was fungus. They then thought that gave them license to come back to automatically do the same service and charge  me again, unless I responded to some letter they sent me telling them NOT to come. That seems backwards to me. They should send a contract which if you sign it and send it back to them, THEN they come out and do the work.

Update: Next day Mike from Davey called me and we spoke about the Eugenia. I express my concerns about the second visit. He seems like a reasonable gentleman and was willing to come back over to look at the Eugenia again, but I declined his offer since we have someone else looking into saving the plants.

They come out annually to trim things up.

It has turned out very well. They are every reliable. They do a god job. They are professional. They know the business. The know trees and lawn. They know exactly how to go about it. There are a lot of people in the tree field that do not know what they are doing and Davey tree does.

I had to submit a report to our home owners committee. I told Davey co. the date of the meeting. The day after the meeting they called, got the O.K. and came the same day. Cleanup was immaculate.I will definately use them in the future.

You hear about people who love their pets or birds but they love trees! They even handle the leaves gently, I was quiet impressed with them. Their prices were reasonable and they do great work. They clean up nicely and you couldn't even tell they had been out because everything had been trimmed so neatly. We will continue to use them.
