This is one of the worst companies I ever dealt with I have American home shields and they assigned my case to R R electric I am having an electrical problem probable a short in the system Being senior we were concerned of a possible electrical fire. When I contacted R R they scheduled me 10 days out. When I told them the problem they could care less there customer service is rated a zero as far as I am concerned. They just don’t care Don’t be a vender off AHS IF your going to service their customers in a timely matter Vito

WORK WAS PERFORMED PROFESSIONALLY, NEAT AND CLEAN. HE NEVER LEFT A MESS. THE CEILING FANS RICK PICKED OUT WERE PERFECT. HE IS MOST RELIABLE AND HONEST. IF NEEDED IN AN EMERGENCY I AM SURE HE COULD BE RELIED ON. NOTE: TRIP FEE APPLIES REGARDLESS OF LOCATION, NOT ONLY TAMPA AREA.

Rick was punctual and the small jobs went well (replacement of outlet covers and switch plates) but the more complicated job of installing new cable wire was not as smooth. Rick arrived on the job without a flashlight or ladder, both of which were necessary for the job. And, since he had been on the job the day before and knew the scope of the work, he should have had them. He cut out many large holes in an attempt to wire for the cable but brought the wrong type of cable wire so we ended up with a wall full of holes and no wiring. It cost us about $700.00 to repair the holes that Rick cut into the wall - fruitlessly, I might add. He charges $90.00/hour and spends a lot to time doing very little. Additionally, he brought a 'helper' with him at $30.00/hour who watched Rick work. I had the feeling that Rick was teaching him. Not a problem unless we're paying $30.00/hour for this.
All in all, I have to give this contractor a bad review. We paid a lot of money for very little work.

"Upon getting to the job, I met with Mr. [member name removed]. He showed me the kitchen area and the backslash, which he wanted approximate, 6 receptacles and 5 witches to be change from white to balck! 3 of the resceptacles were GFI type, which had to be wired properly, according tot he electrical code! Not just replacement of outlet covers and switch faceplates as stated prior in there opening complaint! I normally don't carry a 24 foot ladder on my truck! As it was, I didn't need a ladder or a flashlight as indicated! Before starting any work at the residence, I consulted with Mr. [member name removed] of each and every job of what he wanted done! He was well aware of the work I was doing! He wanted T.V. outlets installed in a certain location. He pointed to each location, I would mark it on the wall, so there would not be any misunderstanding! I pointed out, that I would have to cut a hole before each beam approximately 7 inches square, just above the moding, so then I could drill thru each beam, and pull T.V. cable thru He said that would be OK, because the painters would patch it up, who were working there at that time! I would not have started the job, unless he OK'd this! He was well aware of the cable I was installing, and also it was the same type he had exisisting in his house! He was quite knoledgeable about the coaxial cable I used! The next day, I got to the job with my experienced assistant, and before I knew it, Mr. [member name removed] started to go into a rage, where he started to yell very loud, for approximately 2 minutes! My assistant took off running and got into his truck and left! I also was not happy with the way Mr [member name removed] conducted himself! After the 2 minutes had passed, he said to me "I feel better now"! I felt very uneasy about working there! I called the [member name removed], as a courtesy call, to see if they got the instructions, for the timer, but they never returned my call! I have never had a problem with this timer ever! I've been a Mater Electrican for 37 years and have done successfully many types of jobs."

"I will answer his complaint in a professional manner. [Member name removed] called me and wanted GFI receptacles installed in his condo. When I got there, I found he had 2 colors for his receptacles through out his condo. The configuration of his faceplates had to be changed also. I needed to get the parts that I didn't have. When I came back, he asked me if I was charging for getting the parts. I said yes. At his request I waived the fee. I started working on each box, finding different situations in each. As the day progressed, he asked me to have lunch twice and I declined because I wanted to get the job done. Every 30 minutes he would come in to see how the work was progressing. He was happy with what he saw! In the master bathroom, I had to cut into the wall to add 2 receptacles. This all took time. As I was finishing up, he came in and told me that the disposal wasn't functioning. I told him I would check it out. I checked to se how to rewire the outlet, but it didn't work. I put the wiring back to the way it was and told him I would be back. I spoke to the electrical inspector and he said to try a different approach. I spoke to [Member name removed] and said I'd be back on Tues. AM. He said fine. I went and got another GFI receptacle and I precut my wires, so I quickly did the job. He thanked me and shook my hand as he did the previous time! You can do work quickly in 1 area, does not mean you can do it in all areas! What I charged him is justified! My work is professional and high quality!"

Once the second "service hour" came around doubts about the representative's knowledge and or expertise surfaced. However, the outlets appeared to be working after almost three hours of moving between kitchen and breaker panel. We still question the amount of time it took because at the end the old outlets were back in their places - four in total.
Then came the shocker when we received a call from our tenants informing us that, when they came back from the beach that day, the outlets were not working just like before. In fact, they thought, the electrician left without solving the problem.
In retrospect, we have to say that the $90 an hour service and or labor charge is astronomical and that the merchant's request to have an Angie's List survey completed while he or she is still around is intimidating and resulted, in our case, in false testimony. We hardly could tell this representative to stop and leave when wires were hanging out of "holes" in the wall - so minutes (and dollars) just trickled away.
For $770.00 we basically got nothing resolved except for installed surge protectors (2) for a price of $190 a price we question, as well.
