I was seen about 30 min after my scheduled time. Staff was competent and courteous. Dr. Roberts was thorough and very informative. Dr. Roberts reviewed my history and audiology exam, recommended some conservative treatment and followup in a year if not improved.

The night nurse would not come into the room as she said she was too busy. So after 3 hours of my pleas for help, I finally had to threaten to call 911 for transfer to another hospital when the nurse, at last, came into the room...mad as a wet hen. I had lost 7 units of blood and had a 7 pound hematoma in my abdomen. A very critical situation. That caused an excruciatingly painful and long recovery. I wish my recovery had been speedier, as I would have filed a complaint against that nurse. Two days after that incident, another nurse would not give me my prescribed pain meds as she was worried about being fired. Yikes. I would not allow my dog to be treated there.

After x-rays, MRI and Advil, All was fine. I didn't like the long wait for everything, especially long wait for dismissal.

The nurse was "too busy", and kept sending in the aide. I had to call 911 from my hospital bed and asked to be transferred to another hospital before the nurse finally came in. She was very angry, and did not apologize when she found out that I was hemorraging and had lost seven units of blood into my abdomen. As a result, my recovery was long and excruciatingly painful. I still have psychological trauma from that event. Being a nurse, I knew how critical my condition was, yet was powerless to get any medical attention. That nurse should have been fired. What if I did not have the medical knowledge that saved my life?

The testing showed that my husband has a hard time hearing higher pitched tones. The Dr. recommended hearing aids which he won't use. I wish he had suggested trying a hearing aid by renting or a loaner-they are expensive.
Explained what was happening with his hearing in detail.
I believe him to be a very good doctor. But I just didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from him. Yes, we will go back and see him again-he is that good.

During my first visit, Dr. Roberts confirmed that my thyroid was fine but he wanted to know why I'd had the scans. I told him about the lump on my neck that I had gone back & forth to the doctors to have checked. They kept giving me antibiotics & prednisone and saying that it would eventually go down. After months of this and it hadn't gone away, I went back in because I knew something was not right & we were leaving for a 3 week stay in Florida. After the scans, I was told that the lump was fine but I had an issue with my thyroid. Dr. Roberts looked at the lump and said he thought I should have a biopsy done. He did the procedure right then in his office. The next day I had another set of biopsies. It was confirmed that I had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Dr. Roberts sat with my husband and I and answered all of our questions as we were stunned and upset. He made us feel completely comfortable. Not only did Dr. Roberts SAVE my life but he put us in contact with an incredible network of doctors from my new Family practice doctor, to my Oncologist, and my Radiation Oncologist. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Roberts and thankful to Angie's list because I would not be here today, writing this review, without the two! This all started in Feb. 2014, and I am now cancer free! Thank you for giving me my life back!

Dr. Finkel listened carefully to my symptoms and did not dismiss them as being psychosomatic as a rheumatologist and neurologist had done in the past. He prescribed me medication, and I was feeling much better the next day. I know that this is not the norm. for this type of pain. Dr. Finkel was unavailable when I experienced this pain a few years later after I got off the medication after 3 months. In the same office at Physicians Regional, I saw this experienced neurosurgeon named Dr. Pedro Garciarena. He spent 2 hours with me, and I was pain free after 2 weeks. If you feel more comfortable speaking in Spanish, Dr. Garciarena will be the perfect neurologist for you. Dr. Finkel's office and Dr. Garciarena's office both accept Florida Blue Select. With this plan, it is difficult to find specialists in the Naples area. I strongly recommend Dr. Finkel and Dr. Garciarena.

Dr. Javier's professionalism stands out to me. He's punctual and I've never had to wait long while I'm in his office.

It went well. I was attended to by Alan Obregon. Blood samples were taken and after a short while I was allowed to leave and told to follow up with my primary care physician. Everyone was friendly and professional. The only complaint I could have is that I was there longer than I would of liked. They were busy and a patient came in by ambulance with an asthma problem and that had there attention for awhile. Triage is the name of the game in emergency rooms.

Make no mistake, this is a very substantial operation with a long rehabilitation. I only had it done after being told by 5 shoulder specialists, two in CA and three in FL, that my shoulders were completely bone on bone and were wearing themselves out and I would outlive them. Any further delay would impact the effectiveness of the surgery.
My selection of Dr. Goldberg was based on conversations with the operating room nurses and anesthesiologists at the two Naples Hospitals. Fortunately, I had a contact to open these resources. Dr. Goldberg is the shoulder man! No question. He got extremely high ratings from every professional I spoke with. He does far more shoulders than anyone else and that is what you want for this complicated operation.
My right shoulder was replaced on May 22, 2013. The operation and 3 day hospital stay were flawless. The only complaint I have about Physicians Regional Hospital is the food. Other than that, it is like a resort.
Initially the rehab went smoothly. However, I started getting more pain after the first 4 weeks. I had several visits to Dr. Goldberg with several xrays. Everything was normal, I was unrealistic in thinking I would recover much faster than I did. I had my left shoulder done with some rotator cuff repair on October 7, 2013. Again, excellent operation and postoperative results. The rehab on this shoulder was much easier confirming that no two operation are alike. My left shoulder has been a walk in the park in comparison.
I had to use Vicodin for several months after my first operation and I was concerned about the impact on my liver. When I returned to CA in December, I got a prescription for medical marijuana despite my and my wife's life long negative feelings against the drug. It was a great alternative. It got me off Vicodin; it only took 4 puffs on a vaporizer to take the edge off the pain an put me to sleep. No hangover and no damage to my liver. I searched the internet for negative effects and couldn't find any for anyone over 25 unless you became addicted. Medical marijuana is on the ballot in FL this fall and I hope it passes. I am now back in FL and off it and am sleeping pain free. I have been sleeping in a Costco recliner since I came out of my first operation and highly recommend it for keeping the load off your shoulders. I am now fly fishing, casting with both arms, on a limited basis and feel that I am well on the way to great shoulders for the rest of my life.

I go there for everything. They've always taken care of me through the years. The doctors are top quality doctors, they're the best doctors in the country. They're not mail-order doctors.

Overall the visit went very well. Check-in was easy and the receptionist was extremely friendly and polite. I was seen right on time by the nurse who took all of my vitals, history, etc., and the doctor came shortly after. Dr. Goodwin was very thorough in his questions, collection of information from myself, and the exam. He had a lot of things to take into account and I felt very confident with his performance as my doctor. Check-out was simple and they were able to inform me of how to get to the lab, so I could go ahead and get my lab work done. This was one of the most pleasant visits (from all staff) I have encountered in a doctors office. I will continue seeing Dr. Goodwin and his staff.
