Nassau Pools Construction Inc
About us
Nassau pools construction, inc. Strives to combine art and beauty with function by using masterful complex of gardens, islands and decking in a variety of stone, paver, coral rock and other natural materials. Fountains, waterfalls, rock gardens and reflective ponds, foot bridges and artful lighting to create drama and elegance. The hallmark of nassau pools today is the blending with form to compliment the architecture of the home and merge man-made and natural materials. Our most dramatic effect is the vanishing edge pool, in which the water seems to disappear into the horizon or blend seamlessly into a body of water or into the landscape. Also we are the innovators of pebble pool finish, an exposed aggregate interior for your pool that is virtually indestructible, and guaranteed as long as you own the home or 10 year transferable guarantee to next owner.

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry you were dissatisfied with a service you received. But it was not by Nassau Pools Construction, Inc. Your address is not in our system. You may be referring to Nassau Pools, Inc, the service company. If possible please remove your negative review. Thank you, Nassau Pools Construction, Inc"
The pool and spa are beautiful. The equipment and controls have all of the state of the art features that you would expect in a pool. Everyone who has seen it has been impressed with the appearance and features of the pool and spa. That being said, I was very disappointed with the amount of time it took to complete and the overall service and responsiveness of the company. The pool was started in October and I was told that it typically takes 6-8 weeks from the "dig date" until completion. Everything went well in the beginning, but then the work slowed down and became very sporadic. There was little to no communication from Nassau as to the schedule or which contractors were coming and when. The process seemed very random. Pallets of pavers were dropped off in front of my house and in my driveway and remained there for weeks. One side of my garage was blocked because pavers were dropped about 8 feet behind the door on the side where I usually park. I continued to park in the garage and dodged the piles every morning. One morning I was distracted and forgot that the pavers were there and I backed my car into them. Not directly the contractors' fault, but very disappointing nonetheless as I now have a dent in the right rear quarter panel of the car.
My neighbors started to complain because of the various piles of material and rubble that were in my driveway and on the front lawn for weeks and weeks. Several commented that they had never seen a project in the neighborhood that took so long and was so messy.
I had planned an 85th birthday party for my mother in December and was told that the pool would be complete in time for the party. As the date approached, I realized that there was no possibility of it being completed on time, but it was too late to change the plans. Again, no communication from Nassau. The subcontractor did come and finish the pavers before the party so that we could at least have the lanai open and people could sit outside. However, he left piles of rubble in the driveway, so the guests had to walk around them and enter through the garage as I didn't want to risk the guests (average age being 80+) walking on the sidewalk which was still covered with plywood sheets. If there had been good planning and communication, I would have considered rescheduling the party or renting the community room for the party. It was very disappointing that the guests had a big empty uncompleted hole in the ground to look at rather than a beautiful finished pool.
Because of the narrow space on the side of my house, access for the equipment was tight. As a result, the columns on either side of the door had to be removed for the equipment to get through. A rain gutter over the door was smashed in by a piece of equipment and a piece of the door trim was broken in half. Things like this are to be expected during construction, but it took multiple phone calls and emails, as well as my withholding partial payment before these items were fixed. It is April 23rd and I am still waiting for a step to be constructed from the end of the sidewalk into the entrance to the pool screen enclosure. These finish details are very important to the overall look of the property and the pool area.
At the last board meeting of our HOA, the board voted to deny any new permits to Nassau within our community. I really hate to write negative reviews, but I feel that anyone considering construction of a pool and making such a large investment of time and money should have all of the facts.
That being said, Nassau Pools was a pleasure to work with. The workers were kind and courteous. The owners were often on the site and working. If there was an issue we called them and they responded quickly.
The job overall went very well. Jeff, on initial contact was excellent. He was professional and very informative. They showed up on time and worked quickly to complete the job. The new surface looks great. We did have to point out a couple of areas which needed a little aesthetic attention while applying the finish (needed some cleansing off the tile), but they quickly and happily remedied any area of concern. The workers and supervisor were both professional and friendly during the entire process.
We gave them only a Responsiveness grade of "B" because of response to calls or emails. Response to any concerns during or about performance were excellent. And to be very fair, I should mention Jeff was pulled out of town a lot during our specific job because of a daughter's wedding. I think usually that responsiveness might be better.
Nassau is not the least expensive, nor are they the most expensive, but they seem to have a good product, extremely knowledgeable, and were very willing to answer pool-related questions above and beyond the scope of their job.
They do require 50% down, before the project is even scheduled. That was a concern after all the publicized advice
.not to use anyone requiring more than 25% in advance, but they were trustworthy and completed the job without delay. We were left with the impression that he was just a fast talker bragging about Nassau building 500 pools a year, blah blah.
He knew we were serious prospects yet his follow-through was horribly lacking. He even told us that Nassau was the only pool company offering shell lock pavers (absolutely not true). Of all the pool contractors that we spoke to, Nassau was the only one that would not provide a price break-down and be transparent so we could compare 'apples to apples'.
"Ms, [member name removed], We are very sorry for your negative experience with Nassau Pools Construction. Please be aware that Bob is no longer employed by Nassau. Once again we apologize for your negative experience. Thank you."
I thought the salesman should have been more helpful in the design of the pool and should have come to oversee the project during construction as he promised. That would have avoided some issues.
As with any construction project, there can be problems; however, they were addressed as soon as possible and to our full satisfaction. Everybody on Nassau's staff, including the owner, treated us with respect and like part of their family whenever they were called.
I definitely would recommend Nassau Pools to neighbors and friends and, in fact, have already done so for others in our new neighborhood who are contemplating having a pool built. I would definitely also use them again if I ever need to have another pool built in the future.
We are a seasonal resident and earlier this year purchased a single family home. We are considering expanding the lanai area enclosed by a cage. On 7/25/14 we sent, via Angie’s list, a request for a proposal from Nassau Pools. We never received a response.
