NAPLES FERTILIZER & GARDEN CTR

After it was in place for about a week and a half, weeds started popping up all over. Today, I stopped by at Naples fertilizer and spoke with their general manager, John Brossard. After explaining the problem, Mr. Brossard told me the weeds were probably in my soil before the sod was put down. I responded that this was not true because the weeds were growing only in the area of the lawn that was re-sodded and not in the  rest of the existing lawn. I also explained, that in most of the area that was re-sodded, I had put grass and weed killer down and then raked out the dead grass and weeds. I then put weed killer on the few new weeds that might have popped up as I was building a patio. This took about a month. In other words, I am certain that the  ground in this area was sterile when the sod was laid.
Mr. Brossard suggested that I go home and pick up a piece of sod where the weeds were growing.He felt confident that the weeds were coming up from the ground under the sod.  I did this and there are no weed roots between the bottom of the sod and the base soil.
Mr. Brossard said that he would give me 20, or so, pieces of sod to replace the existing sod that had weeds. What he would  not do, was to have Naples Fertilizer remove and replace the faulty sod , or to pay to someone do this.
This is analogous to selling paint for a house. Then, when the paint begins to peel off because of a flaw in the paint, the paint company simply refuses to pay to repaint the house, just pay for the paint.
There are others in the Naples area that provide sod and they stand behind their products. I would suggest not using Naples fertilizer, but to look elsewhere. 
To continue, shortly after my Angie's list review was published, I received a call from Mr. Broussard. He came over to our home, inspected the grass, and admitted that there were weeds in the new sod. He said that he would pull the weeds out manually and started to do so. Then, it began to rain. He said that he would come back to finish the job. That was two or three weeks ago. In the meantime, In a phone call, I requested that he call me. So far I have heard nothing.  Naples Fertilizer has gone from bad to worse.

The book keeper who ansered the phone initially was polite. I asked to speak with one of the male workers because I had some questions. She tried to answer my question, by asking the workers for me, but I had other questions I needed answered. She put me on hold, and never picked back up. I called back, and she immediately put me on hold again without even asking me to hold. So I called back a third time, and as soon as she answered, she put me right back on hold. No one ever picked the line back up while I waited. My grades are based solely off of my experience speaking with the book keeper.

Better products and quality than the chain hardware stores. We saw an improvement in their products.
