"I apologized for your dissatisfaction Member. We were inidated with over 300 calls for leaky roofs in the last two weeks as a result of all the rains and simply could not keep up with the demand. As far as pricing of our services goes, we price jobs directly in relationship to our cost associated with the job. You can always get a product or service done cheaper but seldom will you get it done better than King Roofing Service will provide. The gentleman that serviced the member's call has spent his entire working carreer in the roofing industry right here in Florida with more than 40 years of tireless service and that was 30 years with the first company in Miami and the last 12 years here at King Roofing Service. Few individuals posess his knowledge about residential roofing. Thank you, Bill King"

"I am sorry for the member's discontent; however I would like to respond accordingly. On June 7th 2011 my office received a call from the member requesting an estimate to replace a flat roof section with a wood deck built on top of it, as well as adding a couple of skylights to a slope area. When I met with the member he told me he was acting on behalf of the owner, and that he was an interior designer, not a licensed building contractor in the State of Florida. I cautiously decided to proceed and went over the anticipated scope of work and prepared an estimate of the job with a (10) day window of acceptance due to the upcoming rainy season which increases our cost of production on this type of job. After several more discussions regarding the placement and style of skylights to be used, the member inquired about inspections and pulling permits. He was suggesting that he did not want the Collier County Building Department to be aware that he was having other work performed which would require additional permitting. Approximately two months later, the member faxed a copy of the signed proposal.with no regard to the contract terms which require a deposit, nor did he check to see if the price was still valid. Due to the length of time which had lapsed, it was determined that King Roofing Service, Inc. could no longer honor the price which was quoted. In addition, I personally decided that the member's company was not a good candidate to engage in doing business with. I informed the member that King Roofing Service was declining the offer of acceptance. I sugges to the member that if he had such an extensive building history that he might consider applying for and obtaining the proper license to operate as a legitimate contractor in the State of Florida.
