Florida in July is no time to be without air conditioning!  I was visiting my Mom in Naples when I noticed that, even though the thermostat was set to 72 degrees, the actual temperature was 77 - and rising.  I checked the condenser outside and noticed the fan wasn't running, so I cycled the circuit breakers - no luck. And of course, this was 5:15 on a Friday afternoon, when help is hard to come by.
My mother told me Franco's Cooling and Heating has provided A/C maintenance and repair services for her, so I gave them a call.  I got their voice mail and left a message.  Given the fact that it was late on a Friday, I figured they were closed and started to research other companies that might provide after-hours service.
Within 5 minutes I received a call back.  The news wasn't good - they wouldn't be able to get to us until 9 AM Saturday morning.  I planned to find another company available that evening, but my mother has had good experiences with Franco's in the past so she opted to wait.
We were resigned to waiting until the next morning, but shortly thereafter Franco's called us back.  They were 15-20 minutes away and asked if we still wanted service that evening.  We answered in the affirmative, and Efron arrived shortly thereafter.  Hi comment to us was "if you're willing to wait for Efron, then I'm not going to make you wait."
He quickly diagnosed and replaced a faulty capacitor.  Within a few minutes our A/C was up and running once again.  We were very grateful to Efron for the great service.

We contacted our regular A/C company (Tim Williams) who we trust completely. They were unable to get someone to us quickly and they recommended Franco's and with our consent placed the service call for us. We were told Carlos Franco would be on site in an hour and he was!
Mr. Franco and an assistant examined the unit and determined that the coolant was totally depleted. Further he found a leak in the line to the compressor over/under pressure-shutoff switch. He re-welded the line to seal it. [This was repeating a repair done by another company (not Tim Williams) last December 24th] . Mr. Franco then reloaded R22 coolant and tested the system and found it ok.
In the process of the repair Mr. Franco explained what he was doing and what he found, in a clear and understandable manner. In addition he clearly answered an unrelated question about how an A/C like ours cools and de-humidifies.
The price he charged us was significantly less than that charged us by the company we used last December 24th for essentially the same problem and repair.
