Four Star Plumbing is a family owned and operated residential and commercial plumbing co serving the Naples and Bonita Springs area since 2002. The types of service provided range from locating leaks to fixings clogs to new installations of water heaters and fixtures. As well as residential emergencies, Four Star Plumbing has completed new developments, commercial and residential, from the ground up working with architects and general contractors to fit their needs. The maintenance man called 4 Star for an emergency repair job. 4 star showed up on Tuesday to start the shower pan test, which continued on Wednesday. We heard nothing from them until I called their office. We were told that we had to replace the shower pan, but that they didn't do demolition work to remove the tile and old pan. The office woman said she'd have to check with the owner to verify if that was really the case. We had to call again when we didn't hear anything and were told that 4 Star didn't do that work.
We asked how we could get that done and were told that we were basically on our own to find some other firm to do that. We mentioned that all of this was very difficult to do by long distance and that our renters were being inconvenienced. Then the woman in the office said that she thought her boyfriend did that kind of work.
I talked to him on Friday and he said he'd try to stop by on Monday. By then we were having great doubts that 4 Star would/could do the job and we sought out help elsewhere to get a bid.
We never heard again from the boyfriend and we don't know if he ever went to our condo.
Another company did the entire job.
We heard nothing from 4 Star for three months until we received a bill via e-mail in late May. Apparently they had sent the pan test bill to the Naples address in February even though they knew we weren't there. That is another example of their complete failure to communicate and their lack of professionalism.
After we got the email bill we called to complain about our treatment, but they refused to adjust the bill.
"I am the office manager and the one that handled this situation. I spoke with (removed member name) mid-morning on June 9th. He asked me to get in touch with is tenant to set up an apt to investigate a leak. After several attempts I could not get in touch with his tenant so (removed member name) and I scheduled the appointment for Tuesday afternoon between 2-4. Our service tech arrived and investigated leak. It appeared to be a leaky shower pan so he set the 24 hour pan test and informed the tenant he would return the following day. Our tech arrived the following day (Wednesday) and checked the pan test. It was indeed the shower pan leaking. Tech informed me after office hours via my cellphone. I spoke with (removed member name) the next day (Thursday) and told him the shower pan was bad and it needed to be replaced. I explained that we do not do tile work. (removed member name) asked for a referral since he was out of town at this time. I referred him to Matthew Fiterman w/Distinctive Residential Construction. I called contractor immediately after and informed him that (removed member name) would possibly be calling and to please follow up after his many meetings. Matthew called at the end of his day and left a message for Brian. (removed member name) returned Matthew’s call Friday afternoon and he informed (removed member name) that he would not be able to make it out to the unit until first thing Monday. (removed member name) was fine with that. On Monday Matthew went and assessed the job that needed to be completed. He called (removed member name) and advised him the best course of action, which was, to remove the tile, replace the pan , replace the durarock, and retile the entire shower. (removed member name) thanked Matthew for his time and said that he had another contractor coming out to look at the job as well. Matthew never heard back from (removed member name) so he assumed he hired the other contractor to make the necessary repairs. As far as the billing...it was a complete and honest oversight. (removed member name) and (removed member name) are listed in our system with their Vintage Cir address. When Wendy billed the invoice she simply mailed the invoice out. When Wendy and I were going through past due invoices I noticed the (removed member name) were on the list and knew right away what had happened and had her email the invoice over to them. Wendy received a very nasty phone call and wasn’t even given the opportunity to get me on the phone to help with this matter. We are a family owned and operated company. I stand behind all of our work and strive to work with any/all of my customer when/if a concern arises. Had I been given the chance I would have been more than happy to discuss the issues at hand."
