Judith de Maleissye-Melun was the realtor I dealt with. She had brought a client to me interested in purchasing my home. From the beginning it seemed a little strange that an overseas buyer would buy a $800,000.00 house sight unseen she assured me she has had plenty of deals like this. After signing the contract she was to setup the inspection on my property, no inspection was ever ordered and the proper deposit wasn't received. I began to do some research and it took all of about 20 seconds to find that this was an obvious real estate scam that had been around for several years and even using the same clients name. When I called and emailed this info Downing Frye told me they were well aware of the scam and that my deal was still a good one. At this point the communication ended from them and they refused to terminate the contract even when the terms weren't met. Two months went by as there greed to still possibly make a commission took over common sense and pages of evidence!

We bought a condo listed by Downing-Frye. Karen Coney Coplin was the listing agent., along with her partner Mike. In our opinion, Ms. Coney Coplin's communication style and tone was counterproductive, at least that was the effect it had on us. Between my wife and I, we have bought 8 homes before this experience. This purchase was, unquestionably, the most disappointing home buying experience either of us have ever had. We regret giving a low evaluation to the all of Downing-Frye, as they likely have many wonderful agents. But, all we can rate is the experience we had - and that experience disappointed us.

Tyler Manring, our agent, was knowledgeable of the Naples area, able to take our extensive list of requirements and turn it into a list of houses. We asked him to setup 15-20 appointments for one day, which he did and spent the entire day with us. Gave us advice on placing an offer, wasn't after a quick sale. After our offer was accepted Tyler took care of all the closing details and represented us at the closing. Signed sealed delivered 30 days after the offer was accepted. he made a complex process quick and painless. I would definitely recommend Tyler and Downing Frye for anyone looking to buy a home in the Naples area.
