We simply cannot recommend this vendor to anyone. The concrete "pour" did not cover the entire deck area which was contracted for. Additionally, the concrete job was not level - at many points on the deck there are discrepancies of up to 4". The "scored" strait lines are far from straight. The concrete was poured into cantilevered forms to become the coping around the pool. The forms failed! The concrete ran down over our new tiles. Naples Concrete's solution was to scratch off the hardened concrete and in the process scratched about 90% of the tiles around the pool.... which we had to have removed by another vendor and replaced - all at OUR cost.
When we confronted the vendor - the felt the job was "fine" and wanted to be paid for the balance of the job. (50% was paid at contract signing).
We agreed to differ - we would not take legal action and he would leave the property taking his crew and inferior workmanship.(This seemed like the best of a bad solution - it would not do me any good to have my husband have a heart attack from the stress of dealing with this vendor - so, after much consideration we were prepared to absorb the cost of the "fix" just have the vendor off the property.)
The above was in November 2013.
In January 2014 we received a certified letter from CEMEX (Concrete supplier) - they had not been paid and now were in the process of placing a lien on our property! I called Naples Concrete - they too were getting ready to lien us for the balance due! Everyone who saw our deck - not just friends and family, but various vendors who came by to work on the property (we were in the midst of a complete remodel) were in disbelief at the poor quality of the work. We photo documented each step of this process.
We discussed with local attorney who sadly informed us that we could spend more in legal action in attempting to recover what was already spent. That coupled with the possibility of litigation and stress to sue a vendor / corporation whom we may never collect a dime..... while hugely frustrating... is not the path we elected to take.
I did meet the vendor at the CEMEX office in north Naples and paid of the CEMEX balance for the concrete they delivered to my property and both CEMEX and Custom Concrete of Naples both signed releases of liens.
We have since found another vendor to work on and finish our deck - we had no choice but to put pavers over the uneven concrete with differing layers of sand underneath to compensate for the poorly poured concrete.
Custom Concrete of Naples, Inc. is not a provider of service I would have back on my property and could not recommend them to any one under any circumstances.
