Yes, I recommend this pro
$945
We recently hired Compass to manage our smaller set of units in downtown Naples.
I am one or our board members..
So far all of my dealings with them have been professional timely, and enjoyable.
I would recommend them to other associations.
Sincerely, Mark S. of Naples.

As stated above, the length of time it takes the PM for the Compass Group to deal with many issues is, in my opinion, excessive and therefore I would never hire them!  Examples are:

1. The BOD voted in December to reimburse me for an insurance claim issue.  I had to send several emails asking for the reimbursement and it wasn?t until April 12th (4 months later)  that the Compass Group finally cut a check to reimburse us.

2. Compass Group was contacted on March 27th by my bank seeking the required 2 page questionnaire the Feds require now when you are refinancing or buying a condo.  It took almost 16 calendar days, repeated contact by my bank and emails from me to get Compass to answer the questionnaire which was 2 pages long and mostly yes and no questions.  They charged us $150.00 for this 2 page questionnaire (the questionnaire, when finally provided, did not contain the correct information and had to be redone) and then never sent the other pieces of information requested by my bank. I actually had to go to the Compass web site to get a copy of the budget off the web page and the payment of my condo dues and send it to the bank.  According to the bank they still have never sent the data to the bank (at least as of 4/12/12). Again, this was part of the information the $150.00 we were charged and then Compass never supplied. They did, however, verify that what I sent was correct, but they NEVER sent the official information (as of 4/12/12).

3. There have been mailings over the past couple of years that Compass had mailed (election info etc.) and they had to often resend a second mailing with the pieces of information they forgotten to include in their first mailing. I don't know if they charged the Association extra money for these 2nd mailings. It would be interesting to find that out as their mistake should not have cost the association.

4. I had a flood in my unit in June, 2011 and repeatedly told the Compass Group that a permit was required to do the plumbing repairs.  I even gave the PM the name of the county official to contact regarding the permit. The PM told me he had contacted the county official and was working to get the permit. I ultimately found out no permit was ever gotten. We have been struggling to get our unit back to where it was and up to code since June 20, 2011. It has been a long battle, but things are finally falling into place, but only because we have worked with the city and county to work it all out. The PM has not been responsive or helpful with much of this.

5. The main water pipe coming into our unit burst back in June, 2011.  The PM took a full 18 days before he filed the claim with the association?s insurance company.   In fact, he wanted me to leave my unit as it was until he got around to filing the claim and coming there with the association?s insurance adjuster!  Imagine leaving water in southwest FL growing mold more and more every day!!  Not only that, it meant our unit was uninhabitable longer and longer because of this delay.

6. There is a $6.50 charge on our account with Compass and I asked several times that this be corrected.  I provided the proof to a previous Compass PM showing that the $6,50 was for copying done by the PM company before Compass took over.  Compass never corrected it and I had forgotten about it until I was doing the refi.  Because this $6.50 was listed as Late Fee/Interest, instead of for the copying which it was truly for, the bank made an issue of this charge and asked for an explanation from me and from Compass.  I was upset that this was an issue as I had asked several times that it be fixed and was told by the previous PM (he worked for Compass at the time) that it would be fixed since I had provided the proof.  I haven?t checked since April 11, 20012 if they had finally fixed this or not.

7. Compass arranged for work to be done on the sprinkler system in our complex.  I was not in residence when this sprinkler work was done.  When I returned, I found my lanai carpet soaked with moss, mold, plants etc. growing on it.  I notified Compass and the BOD and even sent pictures.  Compass supposedly sent the landscaper to check on this but the issue remained (this was in August).  They reported to me that there was no problem.  When I returned in October, things were worse on my lanai.  I, again, emailed Compass and the BOD and the response was that the landscaper checked and no sprinkler was spraying my lanai.  This went on for many more days until one morning I got up at 3:45 to see for myself.  What I saw was a sprinkler directed right at my lanai and spraying water like a giant hose and soaking my lanai.  I, yet again, notified Compass and the BOD.  This time they sent out the landscaper several days later.   The issue was finally fixed but not until almost 3 months and damage to my lanai.  The BOD voted to reimburse me for the removal of the carpet, the mold the moss and the cleanup.  The total came to just $130.00 as I tried to have it done as inexpensively as possible.  I still have not received that check from the Compass Group!

8. In October, 2012 we still had not been reimbursed for the damages to our lanai.  We had to send a certified letter threatening Compass and the BOD with Small Claims court for the reimbursement and asking that the $6.50 be removed along with a letter of warning to us that should not have been sent to us.  I have since been promised that if I sign a release all this will be taken care of.  We shall see if it truly is done this time.
