Needed new air conditioner and heater system for one of my rental properties. Service was prompt given the tenant was without AC for a couple of days. So far so good.

The guy showed up on time. I think he knew what he was doing. When he was outside, he ended up clipping off a component of the air conditioning unit. He brought it in to me to show me what he said was deterioration on it and quoted something like $197 to replace it. I smelled a rat. It was kind of a low price offer I got through Angie’s List. It was something like $40 or $50 to do it. I was just thinking that they were doing that as a come-on to tell me something I did not need. I told them no, I was not going to do it. He put it back in the unit. That was six weeks ago and everything is working fine. I really did not have a good feeling about him and I would not use them again. It went very quickly. They contacted me and scheduled it when I wanted it to have it scheduled and they were agreeable about that.

Arrived right on time, which was great. Very friendly technician. Came in to diagnose, replaced my air handlers circuit board with a relay, which is fine... but wasn't necessary. He eventually determined it was the thermostat that needed replaced (I understand that troubleshooting isn't always an exact science). He even offered to put the circuit board back in since it wasn't the problem, and told me he wouldn't charge me for the relay. Once the new thermostat once installed, everything started working properly, which confirmed that the thermostat was the issue. Amidst these part changes, the technician also determineed that there was some standing water in the a/c drain pan caused by a slight uphill drain pipe and some blockage. When pulling the pipes apart, they came loose quicker than he had anticipated and the water started running on to the floor of my storage/ac closet, no big deal, he quickly grabbed a globe fixture I had in the closet to collect the water instead of letting it run all over the floor, very smart, and quick thinking... I also grabbed him some paper towels to soak up the water that had leaked out to keep it from soaking into the drywall. After his departure, I went into the closet to replace the air filter and saw the globe still filled with water and the paper towels piled up in the corner of the closet (not a massive deal, I just expected a little clean up). Now, the bill comes... $296. I understand there is a $99 service call fee, totally acceptable, but the invoice they provide to you, both by the technician at the time of service, as well as the emailed invoice from the office, is not itemized. So I called today to find out what the remaining $197 consisted of. I was informed of the $99 service fee, which I was aware of, as well as the $197 fee for a thermostat installation...which I thought was rather high. The thermostat he had installed was not anything fancy, a standard Honeywell, digital display, without a timer function. So I looked up the retail price of said thermostat and found it at my local Home Depot for $40, full retail price. I have a little bit of a problem with paying nearly $300 for the installation of a $40(retail) piece of equipment that has maybe 6 low voltage wires attached to it. The service I thought was just fine, the price (in my opinion) was outrageous, and I do not intend on getting stung twice.

The work is always good.  He is usually always on time.  However, he was late once but called immediately and apologized.  He is very friendly and courteous.  He always leaves the area clean.

He was great he noticed we were low on antifreeze - told us the limits we should have - will come back in November to make sure the levels have not dropped - if they do he will find any leak we may have.   Our A/C runs better than before!!!

Very satisfied with the prompt service even though it was not an emergency service call...same day service!!  Gentleman was very professional and extremely helpful!!

The rep arrived and gave us very good advise on how to make our a/c work more effiecently...He also did a full maintenence on my a/c .....I was quite pleases with his work and I will ask for him by name when he services our a./c in 6 months

The capacitor on our outside A/C unit went while we were out the night before Memorial Day. We came home around 11 to find the house was almost 80 degrees. Early the next morning we called several A/C repair places but got nothing but voicemail probably due to the holiday. Coastal Air called back within 30 minutes & was there within the hour. The technician diagnosed the problem in 10-15 minutes, gave us a complete estimate & our air was back on shortly after that. He was extremely respectful & professional and even gave us a few tips. I would definitely us Coastal Air again.

They have been taking care of my AC for the last five years and I am satisfied with them.

They also gave me some tips on operating the air conditioning unit. My experience with them was very good and I was impressed with them too. They were prompt and efficient. The price that they charged was reasonable, but it wasn?t a great deal though. The guy who got the work done was very forthcoming and answered all my questions. They were quite good even though they are not a big company.

I have enjoyed using this company. They do not try to talk me into buying something new even though I have an older unit. The owner has been available to me once in an emergency situation which was above and beyond. They have done great work for me and I would highly recommend them.
