The original contract stated all products are Miami Dade Code approved and tested. After we signed the contract a neighbor was talking to the subcontractor for the garage door and found out they were going to be installing a door at our home and she was informed that Coast Force had ordered a door for us that was not Miami Dade rated. I contacted Dionys Brunner who is the owner of Coast Force and asked for proof that the door was Miami Dade rated so we could show it to our insurance Company to make sure the product was Miami Dade Rated. Dionys showed up with a schematic of the door when I asked him if this will show the door is Miami Dade rated he said just show this to the insurance company and that is all they will need. The schematic did nothing for me so I called the manufacturer Clopay and I found out the door That Coast Force was planning to install was not Miami Dade rated. I emailed Dionys Brunner the next day and asked him to confirm the door he was going to have installed was Miami Dade Rated and he emailed back that it was not Miami Dade rated it would be foolish to Install a Miami Dade rated door in SW Florida a waste of money and nobody installs Miami Dade rated doors in SW Florida. He then quoted me about $2300.00 on a Miami Dade rated door without windows saying that Clopay did not offer a Miami Dade rated door with windows. I later found out that was false information and had a Miami Dade rated door with windows and a 3/4 HP opener installed for the same amount of money see my other reviews for company info. They installed the shutters in the front and back and after he claimed to be finished I had to hire another company to install the hood and manual crank on the front shutter and supply me with a crank so we can operate It manually in the event of a power outage. The one problem that the other company could not fix is that there is no manual crank for the rear shutter as promised by Dionys Brunner. I have asked two or three times in writing how I operate the shutter in the event of a power outage and he will not respond to the question. The contract even states that he would install a shutter in the rear that had a manual crank and ours does not have one and he refuses to fix the problem. As for having to hire the other company when I did question Dionys about that he stated that his company did install the hood and crank assembly and somehow from the time he saw it installed and the time I found it laying in by my front door that somebody else must have removed them and put them where I found them. I asked if I was supposed to get the crank as part of what I paid him or was it an option that I had to pay extra for and he did not answer the question. The contract stipulates that both shutters front and rear will have manual cranks for emergency's. It appears as you will see further on that the only time Dionys cares about what is in the contract is when he can use it to his benefit. As for the windows there was one of them that had a little prior water damage in the bathroom and he charged us an extra $120.00 to install a piece of wood that he claims he installed. When he asked my wife if she wanted them to patch the drywall in the bathroom she did tell him not to bother as we are going to remodel the bathroom shortly anyway. The others were installed some of them look OK but some of them look as though a third grader did the caulking. See attached pictures they speak for themselves. The other problem with the windows is that when Dionys came to measure I told him that we were getting plantation shutters installed by a company he referred us to and it appeared to me that the windows might interfere with the operation of the Shutters and Dionys's response was Oh no there will be no problem I guarantee you the windows wont interfere with the shudders operating. Guess what? As I expected the windows interfere with the shudders opening and closing properly. And guess what happened when I asked Dionys about this problem. He didn't a Now comes the installation of the French doors what a joke not only does the installation look terrible cosmetically but he ordered and installed the wrong doors. Our doors were set up for the right side to open and the left was stationary from the outside. He ordered and installed doors that were reversed. When I questioned him about it he admitted that he had done that and that he was sorry He told me that all I was going to get to correct the problem was an apology because 80 percent of the doors that he installed opened from the left side with the right side stationary. The other problem with the French doors was that they ripped off the moldings on the inside to install the door and did not replace the trim and moldings leaving all of his work exposed. Dionys states that my wife told him he did not have to re trim the door with moldings because we were going to remodel the bathroom. My wife states no such conversation occurred. So when you look at the pictures of the inside of the French doors please keep in mind that Dionys says that my wife told him he did not have to finish the job that we had paid him for. Also please take into consideration that when I met with him as the person who signed the contract he refused to finish the job even after The inspector ordered him to The county inspector came and inspected the job and failed it because of missing safety screws and the incomplete trim and the hole left in the bathroom drywall. I emailed Dionys and asked him if we could set up a meeting at his office to discuss these issues with the job and the fact that he had demanded payment from my wife while I WAS OUT OF TOWN) before the job was finished. I did not hear from him instead he showed up unannounced at my door with one of his employees. I asked him why he just showed up instead of scheduling a meeting and he said it was because he was upset that I had insulted him by sending him emails complaining about his work. He stated that nobody ever complained about his work and he did not appreciate me doing so. I let his employee in to install the missing safety screws and asked him what he was going to do about the other issues that the County inspector had brought up I also showed him that all of the caulk was cracking away from the windows and I brought up the problems with the shutter being incomplete and all he said was the caulk always cracks and pulls away from the windows and they always have to come back and re caulk at a later date and as far as the other issues the inspector failed him for he wasn't going to do anything about it because my wife told him he did not have too. I spoke to the County inspector later in the day and told him would rather just have someone else finish the job and he said no he would not approve the job until Dionys came and finished it and he stated that he had explained that to Dionys. I waited a week or so to hear from him and I finally realized that he probably wont call me because he's been paid in full. So I contacted him and we set up a meeting in his office. I explained that I was very unhappy with his work and the fact that he had installed the wrong door. Again he said he was sorry and that was all I was going to get he would not install the correct door because 80 percent of his customers used the left side door plus the fact that the contract did not specify that we wanted a door the same as we had that he had the right to install anything he wanted. I explained that I felt his workmanship and his customer service was the worst I had ever seen and that the only reason I was going to let him come back to my house and finish the work is because it was the only way I could get the county permit closed out. We set up an appointment for him to finish the work at that point I was SOL as far as the wrong doors being installed because he was already paid and after talking to my wife we decided that we would not argue that point anymore because we really didn't want him doing any more wor
