BEWARE: 5 year Workmanship Quality Guarantee not honored! I had an entry gate replaced after a two failed attempts from local handymen. I chose Carter specifically for the warranty. Two months after it was install several slats cracked and others warped. I called the company to have them fix and we had agreed to wait until after rainy season. After months of calling they finally came back and looked at the gate…and sent me a new estimate for $990 to replace. The service manager called me to tell me that’s just show it’s was going to be and he was relating what he had been told and yes they can fix it, but I would have to pay for it. I was flabbergasted and before I lost my cool, I said, I’m going to revisit the warranty. He said to me in a condescending manner, “you do what you need to do”. Make sure you get warranty information in writing! I’m off to find a new company to fix my gate!

I wouldn't know what to compare the price to. I was remodeling my house and so many of them were not good, but I don't remember the fence company being one that wasn't good though.

These guys were awesome! Responded to my request for a quote within 24 hours, followed up with material shipment status, crew leader came out the day before scheduled install to review the site and the installers worked straight thru several rain showers and finished the job to perfection.

Carter Fence handled getting the building permit from the county, but I had to handle the permit required by the property owners' association. They arrived a day earlier than scheduled, and completed the work on time the next day. The quality of the workmanship was very good. The quality of the materials was as expected. There were no surprises.

We were very happy with that. We had no issues whatsoever. It was all good, we had no complaints. 

They were very professional, and completed the task within the time frame they said they would. We were all very pleased.

I called 4 fence companies to repair my wood fence including one from this website that advertised fence repair.  Carter Fence was the only company that would help me.  My fence that was installed poorly 4 years ago (by another company) was starting to come apart.  Three posts had to be replaced as well as some other repairs and replacing the hardware on the gate.   This company did not disappoint from the office to the estimator to the owner who agreed to do the work.  Four workers showed up on time and knocked out the job in a couple of hours.  I have no complaints and am so grateful for their help in repairing this fence before any injury could have occurred to my dogs.

Very punctual, estimate was fair and in the ball park for what i was expecting on cost for the project.

They appeared on time, went right to work and completed the job quickly.

NO DETAILS GOOD JOB

The first job went very well.  They were responsive and quick.  The job was quoted at competitive rates and completed on time/on budget.
The issue has come up with the current job I need done.  They did such a great job that when we decided to move, I called them to schedule a quote for the same thing at our new home.  It's a bigger job, almost twice the length of fencing.
I received a call from their salesman/quoter 3 days after my initial call.  He was busy at the moment and unable to come when I asked.  He said he would call back the next morning at the latest to spend the time to schedule when he could come out.  He never called.
4 days later, I called the company again.  The nice woman on the phone said she'd reach out to all her salespeople to find out who'd been in contact with me and get them to call me.
It's now been another 4 days and I've not had a single phone call from anyone.
They do an excellent job when they actually bother to try and get your contract.  However, apparently they're too busy for more work.  It would have been nice to at least be told that they're too busy and that I should look for another company to help me.

I located 3 fence contractors from a city approved list. I contacted all three companies to obtain an estimate for the removal of the fence. Carter Fence Inc. contacted me back the same day and scheduled an appointment to come out to our property, evaluate the fence and then submit a written estimate. The second company contacted me the next day and asked me to take pictures and email them so he can issue the quote. The third company never called me back.
Carter Fence Inc. was on time for appointment and I received the written estimate later that day. Although the second company's estimate (after a bit of back and forth to actually obtain it) was approximately the same cost, we felt confident that Carter Fence Inc was the better choice. 
Once we accepted the estimate, we paid the 50% deposit and scheduled the appointment within the week. Carter Fence Co arrived, removed the fence and disposed of it. The estimate said they may have to remove some trees, however the workers were able to work around the trees so that there was minimal disturbance to the landscaping. They did a fantastic job.

They came out and installed a fence for us. It looks good, with quality materials and quality craftsmanship. They were extremely quick to address our needs. They were very nice. The company owner was out here more than once. We can not say enough good things about them.

We had a fence put around 3 sides of our property. Two of the sides matched our entrance gate, and one side was a chain link.
I liked the fact that they had a large crew and did quick work. I did NOT like that they didn't match the fence height with the height of the gate. And worst of all- they didnt pick up after themselves. We have torn branches, pulled up rock, etc. left lying around our yard. In my opinion, if you do a job it should look perfect when you are done. I would NOT hire this company again. We have called multiple times to get the yard put back together. We were told it will be done, NOTHING has been done.
Also, the workers were removing part of the old fence and took a break. The fence was dividing our property with our neighbors. Their dog got loose because of this and we had to search to locate the dog. Thankfully, the dog was OK.

This company's service was excellent from start to finish.  I received a prompt proposal upon request, and as I considered various changes to the type of fencing I wanted, the estimator was available to answer questions and modify the proposal as needed.  Once I accepted the proposal, within the next couple of weeks the office staff took care of obtaining the required permit, and the job was scheduled.  The job supervisor visited the property a couple of days before the scheduled installation to go over the details of the job and he was courteous, knowledgeable and answered my questions about the process.  On the day scheduled for the job, the work crew arrived right on time with quality materials and worked diligently all day to complete the job by 6:00 PM.  I was very impressed with the quality of the finished fence.  The owner of the company called the following morning to make sure I was satisfied with the results, and even offered a discount off the proposal price because the materials had turned out to be less costly than what he had anticipated.  I will certainly hire Carter Fence again in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone. 

This was the first time I'd had used them. They did a great job. I would definitely use them again.

Except for having to wait two weeks with three impatient pups that wanted to run, everything went very well. Kevin is an amiable sales person, the people at the office are pleasant, and the crews are quick and efficient.

Kevin arrived as scheduled and went over the area to be fenced. We discussed various options and then he measured everything. He did a complete drawing and gave optional configuration and prices.I called later to select my desired option and to schedule the installation which was scheduled for 2 weeks hence.The installation was scheduled for Nov. 10, 2011, but they called and asked to come a day early. The day before installation the crew foreman came out the day before to walk the area with me and discuss any problems.On Nov 11, the crew arrived by 8:30 a.m. and were done installing and cementing the posts before 11:00 a.m.On Nov 12, the crew arrived by 9:00 a.m. and were done installing the entire fence and gates before noon. The unsightly garbage can area was clean and everything hauled away. One week later the job was inspected and approved by the City and I paid the remaining balance (50%).

They did a beautiful job with our fence and were neat and clean. I will consider using them again in the future.

We had hired Carter Fencing to put a chain link fence around a small area of our backyard for our small dogs. We went with used chain link materials to keep the costs down and we opted to put screening arund the fence.  It took them a few times to come out and give an estimate. From the estimate, it took them almost 2 weeks to come out an start this small job. When they finally showed up, they put the poles in the ground and left.  We waited a week, then finally had to call them to come finish the job. We had one person tell us that they "don't work on holiday weekends" (it was the Friday before President's Day). Finally, they sent a crew of non-english speaking men out to finish (no call - they just showed up one morning). They put the fence up and did a horrible job putting the screen on. All the zip ties were not cut and were left long and sticking up, and the screen itself was gaping and not pulled tight. It looked terrible and was a disaster. Lastly, these men also littered our yard with beverage bottles and cigarette butts, and left them there.  We took pictures of this shoddy work and littering and called a manager, who finally returned our call after a few days. Two managers came out and fixed the job themselves. This was January 2011 and then they finally send us a bill for this shoddy work on June 8th, 2011. When I inquired to their acounting person as to why we were not billed until 6 months later, she had no answer and obviously could care less. They are lucky they got a dime from us. We will NEVER do business with this company again and I will post this experience online wherever I can. Our family and friends already know not to use these people from our experience!

The entire process was excellent. From the initial person who gave us the estimate, to the installers, to Ken, the owner himself, the job was beyond compare. Their #1 focus is customer satisfaction. Example: There was a very small area of the fence that had some missing mesh. I had planned to fix it myself. Without asking, Carter Fence sent out a crew to fix it. (They must have known about it and were planning on fixing it.) I can not recommend a fence company more than Carter Fence. You will not be disappointed.
