The Initial estimate was $2500 & the final bill was $3400. The electrical wiring for the shutter system had initially been installed in the attic with exposed wires but the system worked well. We contracted with Fred Carr the owner to move the wiring to a central box to be located in the garage. Mr Carr did the work & he damaged several of the solid state circuits so that the system no longer functioned. We agreed to order the damaged circuits which he agreed to install at no cost. I agreed to pay Carr one half of his bill & would pay the other half when the parts arrived & were installed. He agreed to this arrangement. While waiting for these parts to arrive Carr took out a lean against our home & would install the damaged parts only if I signed away any warranty rights, i.e. I would hold him harmless if any of his work was found to defective. I refused & our lawyers are now involved. He pulled the same stunt with a neighbor. I believe that Mr. Corr of Carelectric is a predator who contracts with elderly homeowners, does an inferior or incomplete job & then frightens the home owners who won't pay by talking out a lien. In addition Mr. Carr failed to pull permits as required & the county forced him under duress to pull permits after most of the work had been done. I had to pay another electrician to complete the work. I have initiated a formal complaint with the Florida State Licencing Commission & he is being investigated! Avoid Fred Corr & Carelectric!
