I would never use Best Moving & Storage Allied Van Lines again. If you are looking for mover DO NOT use them. After months of back and forth, I now know why so many people hate moving companies. They are dishonest. I won’t get into the details of what happened – it’s the same back and forth crap you will see 1,000’s of other people complain about on-line. Let’s just say that once they have your money your chances of winning a dispute are slim If you are in Florida avoid Best Moving & Storage. I ended up speaking with the general manager on the phone – discourteous and unhelpful. As my local mover, they sold the move, took my money and then just pointed the finger at Allied and told me to go work it out with them.

I couldn't have hired a better team. The staff at Best Storage was very professional and thorough in the planning of the move. The Allied Van Lines driver and his crewmember were very professional, punctual and personable. They went above and beyond the call of duty on this move. I had absolutely no damage to my household goods. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to others.

While the pickup went fairly smoothly, the delivery and subsequent encounters were not so smooth. The delivery was total chaos. Our goods were just dropped anywhere and we had to redirect many items to their correct location, despite the boxes being clearly marked. Several items were damaged, including a crib. The movers also lost an item, and despite many attempts, including the paperwork showing that we did not sign off on receiving all our items, Allied would not reimburse us for the lost item (a ladder costing $65 to replace). If you use them, check off all your items as they are delivered and make sure nothing is missing. DO NOT waive the item check off process.

A couple of things did get broken due to what I felt was a little carelessness. And, there were a couple of items they wouldn't take (such as plants or a stereo system) Any equipment they only take if they pack it, and I was unaware of that. However, they were quite well priced, and I would absolutely consider them again.

Two men arrived on time, very professional, efficient. They moved us from a second story condo under some tight quarters into a house ten minutes away. Accomplished the move right around the estimated time so there wasn't any additional charges due to an incorrect estimate or lack of efficiency (in fact they skipped their lunch to finish up quickly). Nothing damaged, everything well packed. They were quite careful. Best Moving, although not the least expensive, got the job done very professionally and in my opinion, worth the extra money. I would use them again without hesitation.

Including this move with Best Allied Moving in Naples, FL, I've had the pleasure of moving some 8 times in the past 10 years. Of those 8 moves, some were local, some intrastate and some were interstate moves. To paraphrase G. Bush, this latest move was not my first rodeo. This move should have been one of the simplest/cleanest moves of the 8, but it proved to be, by far, the absolute worst experience of all. I won't spend time here on all the details, as there were so many. I will, however, be providing those details to Allied corporate. I will say this much: the driver/packers did a pretty good job under the circumstances. Unfortunately, that was virtually the only positive. The 'speed bump' encountered which created so much add'l expense and inconvenience was primarily the result of what I perceived to have been ineffective communication inside the mover's office - between estimator, ops mgr and eventually, the owner(s). A certain amount of attendant verbal over-promising certainly did not help. THE COST: a 1 week delay in delivery of my furniture, some fairly pricey art work plus a subsequent economic cost attributable to unnecessary storage-in-transit surcharges. Ultimately, the final price of the move was 55% higher the original quote. To Angie's List users: I am/was fairly new to this reviewing service and I didn't notice it at the time, but there's a BBB link at the bottom of the page for businesses reviewed on Angie's List. If I had noticed the BBB link for Best Allied Moving and used it, I would have chosen a different moving company. Their complaint history, relative to a major competitor in the area, did not stack up. Enough said? UPDATE: The owner's response fails to mention that the 1 expletive uttered resulted AFTER she abruptly and summarily informed me she had ordered her driver to cancel the delivery, not before. The situation could have been easily addressed by my bank in CA if the Best estimator's statement that my card would be run when my possessions arrived at my new home, which per the Operations Manager was to be around Noon (9 AM CA time) ie 4 hours later vs. the 7 hours claimed by the owner. After the owner hung up on me, I called back intending to apply another 'fix' to the problem. A man identifying himself as her husband answered my call. He refused to discuss the matter with me except to say that ONLY a cashier's check, mailed to Best in advance, would be accepted as payment. He also expressed his dismay w/the 1 expletive uttered when his wife told me the delivery was cancelled and pointed out that my possessions had not been inventoried. Bear in mind that all of the foregoing occurred while I was driving my car at 65 MPH to a critical business meeting taking place approx. 3 - 4 hours prior to the scheduled delivery by the mover - all of which I had conveyed to the owner. Add a $55. charge on the bill of lading for a special crate that was not provided, a charge for 'drayage' to Indian River, FL, which is an actual river located some 2 hours east of my house, and paintings which, upon close post-delivery examination, showed signs of moisture damage, you get a big-time losing combination.
Response from

"This gentleman's "bump in the road" ( which he declined to mention) was 2 (two) declined credit cards the morning of his delivery. We cannot deliver a shipment without approved credit which is stated in our contract. We tried to accommodate this customer the day we packed & loaded his furniture by NOT running his credit card ( at HIS REQUEST) prior to our 4 hr. trip for delivery. Our policy as it is with all movers is to run credit cards prior to delivery. Our crew was 2 hrs. into their destination for delivery when I ran his card. The 1st card was declined & then the 2nd card he provided was declined at which point the customer used profanity and I ended our call. He called back & offered a compromise on the amount he owed and said he could get money from California @ 3:00 that afternoon (7 hrs. later) At this point I had no choice but to have our crew return to our warehouse with his shipment. Upon return we had to unload & inventory the entire shipment into our warehouse, thus the additional cost. As the owner of Best Moving & Storage I feel this shipper was handled in a very professional manner. Please note he has no complaint as to the quality of service he received from the packers & movers. Respectfully submitted, Linda Gutshall, President Best Moving & Storage/Allied Van Lines"

Allied vans estimator was on time and friendly. Walked through every room in the house and gave an accurate and detailed account of the price, weight, and volume of our move. The services were ultimately too expensive for our budget, but the professionalism and process would cause us to consider using this company in the future.

It was wonderful. I had packed my own things; they could not have been more helpful in addition to what I had done. They kept in touch with me while they were traveling. They worked with my schedule, brought everything in and placed it. They were extremely nice. I recieved a 63% discount for moving in a down time.

It went great. This was a small load going from Naples, FL to Boston, MA that was packed and loaded onto a large moving van with other small-medium loads. They left within just a few days of loading and delivered ahead of schedule to two different locations in Boston. I had them do all the packing and everything arrived safely.

Very prompt and professional estimate by the owner. The actual moving day, three employees, showed up on time, loaded the moving truck, drove across town, unloaded the truck and placed everything where it belonged. They were very friendly and professional the entire day.

I received a quote one week ahead of my move which proved to be spot on. The crew showed up exactly when promised, and proved to be very professional. I can't overemphasize the ability and care this crew provided - I did not have one single issue with the whole move.

Best Moving and Storage is a local company and were great. I contacted as well as contracted them within a day and a half. Everything worked out well and they were easy to work with. They were neat and clean. They came in to put everything where I wanted it and didn't argue with my wife. The price that they charged was good too. If need be, then I would use their services in the future too.
