Best Home Services - Plumbing Electric Air

They gave a price for the Electrical of $5700 and the plumbing was close to $11,000. The guy that gave my mom the quote for electrical should be fired. He had my mom so scared how her house was going to burn down she paid the deposit. I quickly canceled and called Dan House and they came out and quoted the electrical at $1800. Said 90% of what Best said was bull. For the plumbing Best wanted to tear everything up and replace everything. Called Aztec the found a crack in the pipe which had a 30 foot root in it. Yes 30 foot and look at the attached picture. The root is next to the van on the road. Did a back flush and new pipe for $2000. Best House will take complete advantage of you and especially the Elderly. If we see them in our community now we will tell the owner to just tell them to leave and call Dan House or Aztec depending on what you need done.

Unethical company. Do not use! My ceiling caved in months after the upstairs toilet was installed. It had been leaking. Company denied that was the reason. Wanted to charge another $1000 plus dollars, saying it was the pipes. I got a second opinion who verified with photos that the toilet install was completed incorrectly thus causing the leak. This company is really bad. I got the recommendation from Angie’s list and I should have researched it more.

Their service was okay, responsive and professional, the price was fair.

The man who came out did a great job, he came the same day that he called. I was amazed. He was a very experienced plumber. Worked within the time limit I had. Overall he was very professional. He came and worked very hard and left no mess at all. I am very pleased with the job. Would definitely have him do work for me again.

I am updating my review because I have had Best Home Services out three times for an HVAC (upgraded to "deluxe" air handler and condenser) they installed just over a year ago (May 2019). The first time the unit needed a faulty part replaced in the air handler (the same problem with my parents' home unit installed by BHS). The technician did not put the AH back together properly, so I had to put the panels back on, locate the screws and replace one I never found. He was also supposed to do a service, but instead rushed out of here without doing so. The second time the condenser needed a faulty part replaced due to leaking refrigerant and the pipe freezing causing the fan to not run. I waited for them to show up for a scheduled appointment and sure enough, no one ever showed. I never received a phone call, either. I had to call them and find out the part never came in. Totally understandable if they would have let me known instead of leaving me waiting at home all day on a workday. This third time, the condenser is not running at all while the air handler has been blowing warm air because a contactor needs replacement. My house is currently 87° with 70% humidity. Previously, I paid $195 for the second visit for the service call and refrigerant replacement. Also, I signed up for the $249 annual service. I am still waiting for a $95 refund I was offered and a $100 coupon for future service. Another time, I had an outside water valve replaced and a short time later, that pipe began leaking where the valve was replaced. Of course, it wasn't due to their repair. I do not recommend Best Home Services for any residential service. I regret ever using them in the first place. If they complete an initial repair or install new product(s), expect to see them again and again for ongoing problems. They're the best for causing repeated home services.

They came out to my 2nd home charged me but didn't do all the work. This company is shady beware of them. I'll never recommend them to anyone ever!

They were supposed to order a water heater to replace mine. They placed the order and said it would be delivered on Tuesday. I got a text that they were coming but they never showed up. I called them, they said they wouldn't be able to come until 5pm. We scheduled for them to come the next morning. They didn't show up again. I didn't find out for 4 days that the water heater was on back order and they wouldn't have it. They still put the finance order through and I had to call to cancel it since I never received the water heater. I asked them before the finance order went through to make sure everything was cancelled, so it should never have gone through at all. They didn't offer any compensation or try to do anything, and they never reached out to me. I always had to call them to find out why they weren't showing up.

Avoid the company “Best Home Services” Get other quotes before calling Best Home Services. We called them for a plugged sewer line. First off they wouldn't give me an estimate of the cost until AFTER they put a camera into the line. Once they did, they came back with three unreasonable quotes with different options ranging from $3,000 to $5,000. They offered to reduce the prices by 10%, which was still unreasonable. When we challenged the price, we were told we would have to pay $350 to them because they had found the plugged area with a camera. We would have to pay $350 even if they didn't resolve the issue. The technician then said they would drop the price to $1,500, and they would waive the $350. We felt pressured to accept the $1,500 even though we thought it was high, just to avoid the $350 fee. We subsequently talked to other companies that would have charged around $500 to run a camera in, locate the issue, and water jet the plugged line. I called the Best Home Services office to see if they would reduce the cost to a more reasonable price, and the two managers I spoke with said we accepted the price at the time and that they were unwilling to make any adjustment. The technician also broke our underground sprinkler line while accessing the sewer cleanout point, which he knew happened. I subsequently had to have the sprinkler repaired Bottom line, call around before calling Best Home Services

Generally speaking, the 2 installers behaved well and did a good job. 2 negative points: - Unfinished job: cover over ducks missing. They let 2 open holes big enough for letting any animal under my home. I had to close them myself later. - They took off my old humidistat (I would have keep it) and put some stuff in the hole (instead of a electrical cover as I did later myself) See pictures

Follow up calls made by Best Home Services. Resulting in making a sale and I got the product I wanted.

Overpriced and over promised, followed by under delivered promises and lousy workmanship. The very next morning after they assured me they were finished and got paid, I found several water leaks, had no cold water in one shower, and noticed they hadn't completed several finishing steps. Poor stucco patches, loose exterior hose bins, and abandon exterior shower pipes were not removed. Where they cut drywall for access they cut electrical wiring insulation. Later we found damage in the attic to existing ductwork, cracks in the ceiling, and installation trash. One leak happened twice in the same area. The second time the ceiling caved in. Huge mess. The laundry drain looked like they used beavers to chew though the wall studs. The stained laundry vent line appeared to have come from someone else's house. The dryer vent was drilled crooked and not sealed when they installed it through the garage wall. A young helper had his finger drilled trying to show the attic installer where his last hole had been placed. I was charged for re plumbing my hot water heater, then after the ceiling fell in, they returned that area to the copper I originally had. Did I get that money back, NO. I had $1000 in damage (warped kitchen cabinet shelves, CD player, speakers, etc) plus spent over 8 hours of cleaning up from the last leak. Did I get reimbursed, NO. If BEST Home Services seems better at fixing the problems they create than actually doing the original work. You hope that hiring a large company and paying top dollar gets you top work, again NO not in this case. Also worth mentioning is that you usually get different guys each time. Not much incentive to do a good job when someone else will clean up after you right? Several of the workers complained bitterly about the very company they were representing.

I called Best Home Services because I had two small plumbing issues. I have a shower where the cold water handle doesn't turn off smoothly, and an outdoor faucet on the front of the house that needs to be replaced. When I made the appointment, they offered me first of the day. I said I couldn't do that because my wife would be getting ready for work in the morning, so they offered me 10 - 2 with 30 minutes notice. I took that. The technician called at 9:05 and said he'd be here in 20 minutes. I told him he wasn't supposed to be here until 10 and he said "well, can I come now?" So fine, we adjusted our schedule to accommodate him. When he got here, I showed him the shower first. He asked me what brand it was and I told him, and he had never heard of it. This is a three handle faucet (hot, cold and diverter). He told me that all he could offer me was to replace the three handle faucet with a single lever faucet. He didn't look at my cold faucet to see what the problem might be. He didn't pull the stem to see what kind of shape the stem and seat were in. He didn't even turn the handle to see how it felt. So then I showed him the outdoor faucet. It's adjacent to the main shutoff, and he recommended replacing not just the faucet, but also the main shutoff and the piping going into the house. To my knowledge there is nothing wrong with the main, and he didn't give any reason for replacing it. So off he went to "get me some numbers". He came back inside a few minutes later and offered me three choices. The first was to repipe the entire house with PEX, replace the shower faucet and replace the outside faucet and main for an "investment" of 4849 dollars. The second option was to do the new shower faucet and the outdoor work, for 1281 dollars. The third option was just to do the outdoor work for 319 dollars. He did point out their 12 months 0% financing. I paid the $19 trip charge and elected not to have Best Home Services perform the work.

All went well, Josh was polite, professional, and very pleasant. I would choose him for any other repairs. Great young man!!!!

Service technician Chris came out to the house on a Friday afternoon. He was supposed to email a quote the following week Monday/Tuesday. After 4 phone calls to the dispatcher at Best Home Services over the next 3 weeks, I finally received a call back. Chris promised to email a quote to me by the end of the day. I tried calling again two more times again over the next two weeks with no replies. Clearly my business is not important to them.

Scott Slade was outstanding and you are so fortunate to have him! Not only was he very kind and friendly, as well as extremely knowledgeable and very honest, but he is one of the most organized, quick and efficient service technicians that I’ve ever met, and I can appreciate it as my father did home HVAC for decades. 8 of my wife's 12 siblings have already moved down here and they will be asking for him and BEST! He is too valuable to waste as a manager but you should increase his pay/bonus and require every new rep, after their basic training, to be assigned to work with him (assuming he is willing as they will slow him down) for a few days or a week before they are on their own!

Ryan is excellent at what he does, and explained things to me very well! Gave many options....I thought I had a problem with the carburetor, but it turned out not to be a problem at all. I just need to know how to use it properly. Fixed the leaky toilet.

Ryan C, came as scheduled. We were really impressed by his professional attitude and, it's obvious he has the knowledge!! And, it was NICE to be given options ! Plus, he would tell us what he was testing as he went along, checking our AC unit. We needed a blower, motor module. He was able to do the work needed to get us up and running the same day.

Ryan C did an excellent job of solving the problem, explaining why it happened, and advising us what needs to be done to avoid future problems. He was very prompt, polite and professional throughout his visit.

GREAT! He is the only service man that I would entrust my air conditioner to. Without him I would use another service.
