B & W Paving Contractors Of SW Florida...

They have damaged my new solar gate which was $680 to fix and did not pay for it even though it was promised to me, in fact they no longer reply to any of my contact attempts. Service was done August last year and still no resolution.

I hired the guy..."Charles" he came out to do the quote. I hired him and it took about two weeks and 15 phone calls to get him to come back to my establishment only to remove some dirt and give me a promise he would be back next week to rip up existing parking lot. Well 3 weeks later and 22 phone calls I fired him. BE VERY careful and don't give him a deposit you will never see him again.

I contacted B&W initially through a message on Angie's list and they did not respond. Then I sent an email and got a prompt response. I requested a quote. Owner of B&W sent his son out, gave us a price and we agreed to have the work done right then. A company flier was left with the estimated amount (NOT a B&W flier). We waited for an invoice and never got one. The son came to our house and left another flier taped to our gate with a note, "Call me about a check." We did call and he came back promptly for payment. When asked why we never received an invoice with the date of service, amount due, and work performed, he stated, "I never give out invoices for small jobs, just the big ones." While the work he performed was good (there are a few "globs" in some spots), I feel the son was a little unprofessional. He was dressed in board shorts, big white sun glasses, and big bulky necklaces. It concerns me that when I request the work from B&W, who has been in business for a long time, I get the owners son to do the work who has his own business, and the check was to be made payable directly to him, not the company name. They did provide prompt service for the estimate and immediate work done, but I feel when an invoice was requested (for our records and proof of work completed), one should have been issued. I also feel we should have been informed that B&W would not actually be doing the work. For that reason alone, it is difficult to say if we would rehire them again. The work was good and timely, just a little more honesty upfront would have helped.

Do not hire this company for any type of work
After bringing in the fill dirt we required- they were supposed to move the dirt to create the retention pond as specified by the county
They never completed the work
In addition- they over charged us by triple what other dirt movers usually charge! (not only did they triple the usual price- they delivered 5x the amount we requested- unfortunately we we not home to stop the over-delivery- all in all B&W delivered 17 truck loads of dirt- when all that was needed was around 9
+ they also damaged our existing driveway with their trucks and at first agreed to fix the damage-
now they (the supposed  owner C Wylie) refuses to compensate us for the damage or for the non-completion of work.
He lied and said "dont worry we will fix everything soon"-- that was over a year ago- and we have nothing to show for it
I had to hire another contractor to finish their work.
But that doesn't help resolve the overcharging issue, nor the repair of damage caused by them issue.
My advice is stay away from anyone associated with this company.

I read 2 reviews on Angie's List and this provider had a F rating. Having a service business myself in Michigan I understand that it's hard to please everyone. I took a chance and glad I did. They did the job in the timeframe they said they would. We had a rough looking 10x20 existing asphalt pad which they recapped along with additional 10x20 area excavated, filled with base stone and then asphalted. Ended up with a 20 X 40 parking area off the street. No complaints. They were in and out in 2 hours time. This was a small project for them. Price was fair and easy to work with. Would use them again and probably will in 6 months when it needs to be sealed.

We paid to have this contractor come out and put in a driveway for us and they came out, finished, and was paid in full. Not long after we noticed a few areas that needed to be redone because the asphalt was falling apart, right at our driveway and our entrance ways from the street so that we are not able to use our driveway thinking this may be fixed before further damage is done. They also had to pull back a section of our pavers against our house and when they put these back they did not put them in the right pattern and they are sinking and unlevel.

 We have been calling them over and over for a month. They made three different appointments and have failed to show up for any of them and they have actually complained to us that we have called them too many times though they admit that there are problems that need to be fixed! We are more than likely going to end up in court for reimbursement of the cost to have another contractor come out and perform the repairs. I do not recommend this company to anyone!

I came home to find them paving my driveway in drizzling rain.  I had holes and pieces coming loose within 1 week.  They said that for the price I paid it was as good a job as I would get.  Then they sprayed it with sealer and did not even weed eat around the drive first.  You could see where it didn't even seal in places.  The sealer did basically nothing.  Since then, I paid another company to come out and brush on a thick coat of sealer to try to preserve what's left of my drive.
