About us

Built on a foundation of a good reputation that my father, Joseph Brett laid over 25 years ago, I strive to live up to the standards he set. Like my father, my best advertising has always been “word of mouth”. So, thank you to those of you who have put your trust in me to serve you over the years. I look forward to serving you and the ones you care about, with the same integrity that my father instilled in me long ago. Thank you again, Joe Brett

Needless to say we had the other company fix the problems that we had and install the UV lights that we had already paid for with all star but we're not there. Very expensive repair with new company. Now everything is fixed and working excellent!!!

My pool heat pump had stopped working over the weekend. The unit is 10 years old, but I was hoping it could be repaired so I didn't have to go to the expense of replacing it right now. My first call was to my pool service contractor. In Florida, apparently pool service companies can install new heaters, but are not allowed to repair existing heaters, so my pool contractor suggested I call my normal HVAC service company. I called them, but they do no service pool heat pumps, and recommended that I call All Star.
I called Joe at mid-day on Monday, and he had availability to look at it the same afternoon. He came out to the house about 2 hours later, hooked up diagnostic equipment, asked a few questions, and diagnosed the problem as the capacitor. He had the part available in his truck, and within 30 minutes, my pool heater was working again. Great guy - personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. Excellent service experience!

Since the last time he came out to "fix" my air conditioner, it has become worse. It has a terrible rattling coming from the unit, and is extremely loud. I have spoken with him twice, and left him multiple messages, but he has still not come out to look at it. He is not at all responsive, and can never find time to come over. I don't like dealing with him, and would never recommend him to anyone.

It took forever for him to come over to check on it. He came over to fix it and it became worse. I think he is rude and felt I was disrespected by him.

Within a few days of having this work done I came across receipts in my files showing that this same company had replaced the motor and the run capacitor on this heater less than two years before on 12/31/11 at a cost of $370.50. ($203 for the motor, $7.50 for the fan motor run capacitor and 2 hours labor for $160). In addition, on 3/25/11 they replaced the Run Capacitor and charged me $148.50 ($80 service call, $68.50 Fan Motor Run Capacitor). So I called the owner of the company, Joe Brett, who actually did all this work and asked him if he was sure the motor had really needed replacing. He said yes that the motor was very old and would not move. I asked him how old he thought the motor was and he said it was very old and most likely the original motor and was as old as the house. I said that the house was 12 years old and asked if the motor could have been that old and he said yes the motor was at least 8 years and probably 12 years old. When I then told him that I had receipts showing he had actually replaced the motor less than 2 years before and charged me $370 for it, there was complete silence for a minute.... Then he said that my sprinklers were probably hitting it or the gutters had overflowed on it and caused it to stop working. I said this is ridiculous as it is a part that is made to be outside and is exposed to the elements year round... It had very limited use over the two year period and was basically a new motor. I asked for an adjustment on the bill which he refused. I pointed out that he told me that it was a very old motor and I had receipts showing he had just replaced it two years before but at that point he began to sound surly and I was uncomfortable. So the capacitor which was also replaced twice in a short time was not discussed as it was a minor expense compared to the motor. I told him I would let the pool company that referred him know how unhappy I was with the situation. Over the seven years I have lived in the present house, I have called to have this same heater fixed on many occasions, yearly i would guess, as it never seems to work when we want to use it. Generally we only turn it on when we have guests visiting . The pool company has always referred me to this same air conditioning company to fix the heater and it is always a significant expense to fix it. I discussed the situation with Casey from Jeff Wilson Pool Service who referred me to Joe Brett/All StarA/C and he volunteered to speak with Mr, Brett but he was also unsuccessful in getting any kind of refund. Casey told me that the reason that he recommends All Star is that they always go out right away to do the repairs while other companies can take several days to go out. I thought that was an interesting observation.

When we bought our southern exposure house the Master bedroom (directly exposed to the west setting sun) was very hot, especially in the summer. I tried 3 portable air conditioners, 9,000 BTU to 14,000 BTU, but none really cooled the room enough. After Joe Brett at All Star Air 239-597-5007 installed the Mini-Split AC, the room goes down to 70F or lower (from 80F - 90F+) quickly. A neighbor with the same configuration paid THOUSANDS more to replace his AC with a larger unit, and his results are not as good as mine. That's partly because he is now cooling the entire 2nd floor much more, not just the room with the problem.

We received a call from our caretaker who found that our A/C unit had iced up. She said due to its age we might need a new unit. I asked if she could recommend someone and she did. All Sate Air Conditioning was called and they came right over. After inspection they called me and said that a capacitor for the fan motor was blown and they could replace it. I was pleasantly surprised that they replaced just the capacitor and not the whole motor. It is good to find a company that fixes was is necessary and not what would make them the most money.

He was referred to me from a neighbor. I went ahead and decided to get an a/c unit that ran more efficiently so I could qualify for a tax credit. My neighborhood association uses them too. There family is very well known in the area. He is knowledgeable, gets the work done, and done right. He is very reliable.
