AFK Flooring & Kitchens

Our new kitchen is fabulous. The quality of the product is top notch. Our designer, Maggie, was the absolute best to work with. She really knows her subject and has a lot of experience. Our installer, Joe, did a first class job and insisted that everything was perfect the first time. Extremely professional, curtious and punctual. The project went smoothly and on time from start to finish. Excellent experience!

IF YOU LIKE TO SURF ON THE WAVES IN YOUR BRAND NEW CARPETING, HIRE THIS COMPANY because Mr. Trader (owner) says that is normal in Florida. Within two years of installation, waves started to appear. Since we are only using the place couple times per year and air conditioner is always on, this was not a Florida or consumer issue but a BAD INSTALLATION issue. When I confronted Mr. Toader and he finally answered my calls, he had the nerve to give me the phone number of someone who would gladly re-stretch the carpeting for $200.(I called the guy and he came out and said it would be $300, which I declined). Why should I have to pay for someone to fix a bad installation? Mr Toader, maybe you should consider selling surf-boards with your carpeting. UNPROFESSIONAL as they come!!!! So far I have no complaints about the kitchen, which was done nicely.

Exceeded expectations. Our kitchen space was challenging but AFK solved spacial problems that no one else would even tackle. They designed a beautiful, functional kitchen and a master bathroom with lots of storage and a generous shower. All of the cabinets are excellent. They also built special shelves and a hood surround to coordinate with the cabinets in the kitchen.
AFK handled all of our tiling (shower and tub surround) and flooring needs. They were able to match our existing marble so that, even where they had to patch areas, the floors were continuous throughout the house.
AFK followed through even after completion. When we needed additional shelves they arranged for them quickly and easily.
We are thrilled with the results and can highly recommend them for any project you are considering.

AFK's owner, Viorel Toader, spent a considerable amount of time with us when we first met him to make sure we obtained the kitchen, flooring and bathrooms we wanted.  The quality of the products installed and the skill of the installation was impeccable.  In most projects there is usually difficulty in coordinating the various schedules of multiple service providers.  Notwithstanding those common problems, the work on our project was completed in a timely fashion.  Our friends were actually surprised that all the work we had done was completed so quickly.  When we look at our home today, we are very pleased we decided to work with Viorel and Affordable Flooring & Kitchens. 

We were very impressed with the quality of the cabinets and the professionalism of our project manager, Joe Minso. Affordable Flooring and Kitchens came out to our home, took measurements, drew up plans and then sat down with us and step-by-step, went through all aspects of the design. We changed some things and kept others, and Joe was always accomodating and made insightful and useful suggestions along the way. He coordinated our demo team, electrician, countertop installers and cabinet installers. While we did not like the electrician he suggested, Joe did everything in his power to 'make it right' and between Joe and my husband, we got the kitchen done beautifully. He came out to the house many times, above and beyond the call of duty, to make sure every detail was just right. We are very pleased with the quality of the cabinets; the construction and finish of these cabinets stand head and shoulders above what you get in the box stores, and for not all that much extra, considering the beautiful craftsmanship of the cabinets which we chose. The price of ~$21000 listed is for the cabinets only; the counter tops, appliances and lighting were extra and paid directly to those contractors. We love our new kitchen. We highly recommend Affordable Flooring and Kitchen and have already recommended them to our neighbors.

The job went as scheduled with excellent results

The cabinets, countertop and design turned out wonderful.  There were loads of issues, however with the timing of the project.

We began the project in August, 2014 when we walked into the store on Immokalee. We were greeted by a designer and it was my fault because I did not ask how long the individual had been with the company.  We were referred to this company by a neighbor who was impressed with the owner. The designer was a wonderful nice individual and worked very hard for us.  Our biggest issue was in asking for a recommendation of a contractor.  I figured if they work with contractors all the time they must know who is good.  Big mistake! We were given a name of a contractor who promised the work would be finalized by Thanksgiving. Everyone said the project would be finished by Thanksgiving. That was my deadline date and it was a joke.  Because of travel dates on my part and delays in getting the countertop, the kitchen was not finished until January, 2015. Always do your own vetting of the contractor and put deadlines in contracts was the learning lesson of this project. After I hired the contractor I found out that AFK no longer recommends him for their projects.  Lucky Me!

On the positive side, the individual installer that worked for AFK was named Hector and he was fantastic.  He made everything wonderful and the quality of the cabinets is fantastic.  We used Executive Cabinets and they are made here in the U.S.A. They are expensive, however if you want something to last they are really beautiful. 

Everyone involved with AFK except the contractor were very good to work with and the tile installer was also an expert. The end result of the kitchen is a WOW - however get deadlines and make sure you are working with a designer that has more experience in ordering.  The designer ended up leaving AFK, however had wonderful integrity and finished the project to the end. Unfortunately, I think because she left AFK they gave her some issues in supporting her until the end of my project.

I am extremely happy with the overall look of the kitchen.  It was quite expensive, however will last a lifetime!

Viorel and the entire AFK staff were wonderful to work with.  All work was completed as planned.  We were not present when work was done but felt very comfortable that it would be done well because of Viorel's high standards.  Whenever we had questions we could speak directly to Viorel and get them answered as well as any issues resolved.  It was a pleasure working with Viorel and the entire AFK staff.

We had new wood flooring installed in our Kitchen/Family Room last week and we are VERY pleased with how it went.  We had GREAT results, smooth installation, and great communication with Affordable Flooring.  We have used them in the past for wood installation in other areas of the house and knew we could count on them.  The installers were so polite and friendly and got the job done professionally.  Viorel was, as usual, very professional and we knew if we hired them that we would have no worries.  GREAT EXPERIENCE.  We will use them again and again.

The kitchen project included new quartz countertops,reface cabinet doors, and a wood laminate floor. Also had them install new carpeting throughout the remainder of the 1500 square foot condo. They did an excellant installation of what I wanted (and more) within my budget. Like all home remodel contractors, they had missed several appointments and had a problem with communication about these missed appointments. But in the end, I had a deadline of when I wanted it completed by and they completed it on time.

The tile looks great. I was very happy with the cleanup they did in my home and the way Viorel (the owner) handled the project. He sent me pictures to keep me updated on how work was progressing. I only have good things to say.

They were late in getting the estimate back to us so that resulted in us to go with some else. It was very non descriptive kind of proposal and was not detailed enough for us. They were supposed to get back to us, they came to our house on Thursday and we went to their showroom on Saturday. They were supposed to get back to us on Wednesday. It was over a week and a half when they got back to us and we already went with someone else.

The installers appeared competent, but there were problems with variation in grout color. They had to come back and work on various spots around the floor to even out the appearance. They said the problem was with the manufacturer and the manufacturer said the problem was the installers. The installer fixed the problem to our satisfaction and showed us how to fix any other areas that might have been missed. The grout was a special combination of grout and sealer, with color. We also had an issue with the installer taking unused boxes of tile. Either the original estimate was too high for square footage or the installer used significant tile saving techniques. in either case the installer felt that he should have the extra tile. After discussing the problem with the owner, the excess tile was returned. Other than the grout issue, and the tile misappropriation, the job was on time and well done.

I had six other references from other people in the building and who liked them.  They are not totally done but so far, I would give them an A.  I got a bit from the number one guy on Angie's List and these guys met his bid.  I would have to give them an A since they met the lowest bid.  For responsiveness, they have been excellent with any issue that I have had.  They show up when they say they will be here.
