We live up north in the summer. Our home overseer called and told us the house was too hot. I called Alex's and spoke to his wife. She explained that as long as the humidistat was set correctly not to worry if the house felt warmer than what the temperature was set for. She failed to tell us that in order to test if the AC was working we needed to set the humidistat back to zero from the 60 setting we leave it at during the summer. She also failed to provide important information that there was a possibility that there was an exterior circuit breaker which might have failed. Our home overseer had tired to lower the AC temperature to see if it was running, but Alex's office said that when you raise the temperature it takes a while for the AC to work and not to worry. Without the information that we needed to set the humidistat to zero, and Alex's office assurance that everything was alright it took another couple of months before our cleaning lady told us there was mold on our kitchen chairs. Then Aex finally came out and discovered that the outside circuit breaker had be triggered off. We live in a mobile home and have laminate flooring. Because of the high humidity, we are now faced with thousands of dollars cost to remove the top floor and either pull up the sub flooring or put down 1/2 inch plywood over the present sub floor. Alex refuses to take any accountability and help with these repairs. While I personally have nothing against Alex, his refusal to take any responsibility for the misinformation we were give by his wife, means that I he is not a company willing to back up any mistakes they make.

They were very good. He wasn't trying to make me pay the highest cost and he actually solved the problem, which was good. He is a keeper. They came out and just did it. Very professional. I know actually understand what he was doing to fixing because I fix systems myself, and I know actually what he was doing. Very nicely done. Knew how to bypass it and put relay in it, just very nicely done. Shows lots of experience. He didn't rush, did it quickly, got me up and running in a few minutes.

Third time we've used this company. I really can't imagine anyone being more professional, responsive, effective and fair. OUTSTANDING!

Alex sold and installed one used pool heater that he had refurbished and put in a new compressor.  The price was a fraction of what a new unit would have cost me and it included the installation.  The workers even cleaned up some of the plumbing around the motor and made it look cleaner with less twists and turns at no cost.  Over one year as passed since this was done and evey thing is still great.  I also used this company to check and repair my AC unit.  it turned out to be a minor problem, but they are honest and they are my go to company for this kind of thing.

My pool was not heating so I called the pool people and they recommended I call Alexi's as "they are honest and do good work". So, after calling Alexi's, they came out within two hours and fixed it.  They also checked the rest of the heating system.  When I first encountered the problem I figured it was going to be a heating element or a thermostat or both plus maybe something else too. It was only a bad capacitor.  Everything was fine within less than an hour of their arrival.  I would most definitely call them again and not just for the pool but for my home's A/C as well.

They poured a cement pad for the pool heater and after it cured they installed the unit. They were on-time, efficient and professional. They clearly explained how to use the unit.

The A/C quit blowing cold air on a Saturday morning. I called Alex's at around 11:00am and got the answering machine, left message and was promptly called back. Amy sent out a technician very quickly, I think within the hour. The technician, Jerod, is an absolute professional. He is technically competent, has fantastic manners and found a faulty wire within 20 minutes of arriving.
There is no doubt we will call Alex's again. I am really very, very pleased and my Saturday ended well.

We came home on Saturday to a non-functioning A/C system in our home. Having only moved to the area recently, we first called the home warranty company to dispatch a technician. After they failed to do so, and not having any idea who to use, we turned to Angie's List.
I called Alex's and had to leave a message. Being Sunday, I was very surprised when I had a return call within 15 minutes. I explained the situation and was told that I would have a technician at our home within 30 minutes.
The technician was prompt, polite, and very personable. It didn't take long to see that he was very knowledgeable as well. Not only did he repair the failed condenser fan, but he also looked over the entire unit, changed the capacitor and was able to reduce the amount of amperage the system pulls, creating a more efficient unit.
We are very pleased with their service and response especially over the weekend. We will definitely utilize this company in the future.

The temps are already in the 90s here in Florida and as we entered the new weekend our air conditioning system was not functioning properly and we needed it serviced. But, having moved to Florida at the end of 2013 we found ourselves with little knowledge of reputable service providers in the Port Charlotte area. So, after consulting Angie's List we called Alex's Pool Heating and Air Conditioning to fix a problem with our AC. We called on Friday afternoon about 5:30 thinking we'd be lucky to get someone to fix our problem on Monday after the weekend, We were wrong as Alex's was at our home within an hour. Not only were they prompt but they fixed the issue and even re-routed and shortened a discharge line to minimize the chances of a recurrence. They also showed me how to address the continual algae problem that I was not familiar with having lived my entire life up north. They also cleaned the unit and inspected it. All of this for a very reasonable sum. We will definitely call them again should we have heat or AC problems as they are prompt, courteous, professional, thorough and very reasonably priced.

His customer service is outstanding! The quality of his work is also top notch. I consider myself lucky to have found him to take care of my AC needs.

They're very good. Their cost of service was very reasonable. They're honest and they're on time. I recommended him three or four times. I am very well pleased with the service. Recently bought a home in North Port that had been empty for about 5 years. The pool equipment was not working properly with exception of the pool heater. It had been working well, but suddenly stopped working. I called Alex's on Monday and they set appointment for the next morning at 8:30. Their technician was on time. and checked out the system. Turns out the pool heater stopped working because another piece of the equipment was not as it should be. The tech explained the problem and what I would need to do. What was expected to be an $80 service call ended up being a bit of additional pool equipment education that he charged nothing for. I will use this company for any future air conditioning or pool heater needs.

After buying our home in Florida we found that the pool heater was totally worthless. The weather was starting to cool off (70's) and so was our pool so we started talking about replacing the heating. So many companies and brands. Confusing!
After many conversations with many pool heater professionals ( 9 in all), Alex's Pool Heating and A/C were honest and straight forward with answers without the and quot;maybes, and's or butsand quot;, we knew what we were going to spend before the installation took place including permits and such. The installation was quick and clean and the unit was wonderful all winter long. We would recommend and use this company again. The water was so nice all winter long...10/22/2012

We again called Alex's for a second opinion and once again the bid came in lower and we believe with better brands and quicker
service than the others could offer. the service was excellent, The men even informed us of a potential fire hazard in the attic that we didn't even know about that an electrician needed to fix. Great service and peace of mid.

We bought a house thinking that the pool Heat Pump was broken and needed to be replaced. The seller accepted our offer and when we got back home to New Hampshire I looked at Angies list for someone to check out and I thought replace the Heat Pump. I called Alex and spoke to Amy the office manager she suggestered that before they replace the pump to let Alex look it over as he may find that it may be fixable. She said and I quoteand quot; If its broke Alex can fix it rather then replace itand quot;.
Alex checked it out and found the compressor was gone and needed to be replaced. Alex called me to say that he could replace the compressor and over haul the pump for $600.00. I sent them a check and instruced him to do the job. Alex and his crew replaced the compressor and did a complete re-build of the pump and found some minor issues that they fixed and it did not change the origional estimated cost. The Heat Pump is like new a should last for many more years.
Alex's Pool Heating and A/C saved me around $3000.00 if I had installed solar panels and over $2000.00 if I had replaced the heat Pump. That is a GREAT COMPANY. I will go back if I have an A/C problem and I strongly recommend this company to everyone having a problem with there Pool Heat Pump or The A/C unit.
