Description of Work: I used him twice. Once to clean a clock, and he did a VERY GOOD job. Explained things to me as he went along. |The 2nd time I used him was to replace the "innards" of an old clock, and he did a very good job with that, also. |I will use him again in the future, if I need the services.

 + -1 moreMy boyfriend had a clock about which he was quite sentimental, but it had not worked in 3 years. It was battery-run so I thought I'd ask the clockmaker to take a look as a last resort, having had previous good experiences with his knowledge. He knew right away what the prboem was and explained, in detail, what I needed to do.
Description of Work: I took a clock in that had not run in years. The owner knew right away it was because of a brand of battery. He explained the idifference in how the batteries are desinged and it simply wasn't making contact. He charged me the cost of the batteries and that was it. I have previously had him repair my mom's cuckoo clock and he did a terrific job!

 + -1 moreHe arrived about 15 minutes early and took apart the clock parts. He gave it a good oiling and in checking out said he was pretty sure that was the problem. He also explained to us a few things about the clock which we thought was quite nice of him to do. He was professional, quite knowledgable and pleasant.
Description of Work: Our grandfather clock stopped working after almost 10 years. When I called and spoke to Roy, he said it sounded like it needed a good oiling plus check up.

 + -1 moreGreat experience. The owner was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me some information about the clock that I hadn't known before. He estimated it would take 4-6 weeks to repair and it was done in three weeks.
Description of Work: Re-strung weights, oiled and checked my antique Seth Thomas mantel clock.

 + -1 moreI'm glad I chose this repair shop. Mt Dora is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. Many shops, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, tea shops, and a monthly calendar of events. We even found a restaurant "The Gables" where our terrier "Duchess" was able to dine with us alfresco on the porch. In fact we were looking forward to the trip to pick up the clock.
Description of Work: Repaired and oiled our grandmother clock which hasn't worked for years. The store owner carried the mechanism from my car which was parked over a block away. I described the problem as I viewed it. He estimated work to be completed in three weeks at a cost of $89.00. He phoned during the third week and the cost was $89.00 He covered the care and history of my particular clock. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and I would recommend him highly.

 + -1 moreTHIS WAS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE USED THIS CLOCKMAKER AND WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE AND HIS FACILITIES AT HIS SHOP. WE FOUND HIM THROUGH AN ARTICLE IN SOUTHERN LIVING MAGAZINE AND WILL USE HIM AGAIN BECAUSE WE HAVE A LOT OF OLD CLOCKS.
Description of Work: AN ANTIQUE MANTLE CLOCK WAS REPAIRED AND CLEANED. WE DROPPED THE CLOCK OFF AT THE SHOP, AND HE TOLD US IT WOULD TAKE AT LEAST THREE MONTHS, AND IT WAS READY IN THREE MONTHS AS HE SAID IT WOULD BE.
