"It is disappointing to read such a review that is personal rather than professional criticism that could be constructive. We entered into a contract just at the beginning of COVID. The effect of the COVID pandemic was unforeseen and detrimental in many ways for small businesses. This particular owner chose to sell their home prior to the build and live in an RV. So, one can imagine the urgency to move into the new home, and we were certainly sympathetic. I even hired an independent shipping company and purchased block from an outside distant source to get block due to local shortages. I rented a forklift and operated it myself to unload the blocks. All of this was thousands of dollars out of my pocket (I did not charge the owner) and additional time to try and accommodate the situation the best I knew how. The three major negative effects from COVID was a shortage of manpower, a shortage of materials, and the incredible price increases. No matter how many times I tried to explain the situation, it was not accepted by the owner. It is not true and not proper to erroneously call me a liar, say that I don't care, that there was poor communication, didn't monitor, and that I only wanted their money. Nothing could be further from the truth. First of all, anyone who knows me, would not call me a liar and would say I am honest. The fact of the matter is, this owner Ryan Fors, made many changes beyond our written contract which we took on with the burden of cost because he chose not to pay for them. I personally designed a beautiful fireplace unit, shiplap interior wall siding, tongue and groove ceilings etc. All of which they loved but said they did not have the money to pay for. I trusted them and continued to perform our construction duties along with the long list of changes. We were short over $150,000 on due payments for several months. So, when it came time for closing Mr. Fors said that since they couldn't pay their bill, they would have to move in first, close on the loan and then refinance to be able to pay us in full. Again, I trusted him. So, the situation was that they moved into a house they didn't fully pay for and made reasons for why they would continue to hold money. In the end, McCloskey Homes lost over $40,000 in profits. The content of Mr. Fors review is more disappointing than any loss of money, as I truly do care about having the best outcome for our builds. I am sorry Mr. Fors feels this way, and I hope that his family will have years of happiness in their new home."
"Thank you my Dear Friend! It was an absolute pleasure working for you!"
