Florida Central Home Inspections

I had home inspection done and purchased home based on results of inspection. My primary concern was roof but the inspector said that it should last 5 to 7 years. Unfortunately, it leaked on first rain. Also, missed window that has substantial rot and leaks very badly.

I live in Texas, but I own a little house in Orlando that used to belong to my father.  I needed to get house insurance, and the insurance agent said I could reduce the cost of the policy if I had a Wind Mitigation Inspection performed.  The insurance agent recommended a company called Elite Analysis.  I called that company and left messages several days in a row, but they never even bothered to return my call!  So, I assume they did not need either my business or my money. 
I looked on Angie's List (no, Elite Analysis is not even listed!!), and I found Ken Wild's phone number for Florida Central Home Inspections.   Not only did he personally take my call, but he scheduled the inspection that very week.  
The inspector, Dale Reppy, called me to make arrangements for someone to be at the house.  He was personable, professional, on time (he even called to say he could be there early), and thorough. The insurance agent and I both received the report by that evening!  
Ken and Dale are awesome!  And I paid a MUCH better price than the other companies advertised. I gave the insurance company their names, I told him he should start recommending Ken and Dale to their clients.  Thanks, guys!  You two were wonderful! I would hire you guys for any home inspection services!

Ken did a fine job. He uncovered some important problems we had missed. He also went above and beyond by working with us to troubleshoot a plumbing problem that turned out to be a simple stuck turn-off valve. If he hadn't done that, we might have had to let the sale fall through, as we could not get hot water working anywhere in the home.
Ken gave us all the time we needed, and answered all of our questions. He's also a great guy. Better yet, he was also a bit cheaper than most of the competition, which is always a bonus.

Charles Driggers came out and did the wind mitigation inspection. He was an impressive young man. He was very professional,
a great communicator and very knowledgeable about his craft. It was a very pleasant experience dealing with Charles and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking this inspection. Also, their price of $80 was far lower than their competition.
The only issue of concern was not with Charles but his boss who failed to respond to numerous emails through this site for over a week. After he finally did make contact, he was okay but needs to get a fax svc.

My home insurance agent said I could get a reduction in my premiums if I had a wind mitigation done. She gave me three people to contact to do this. I could only find one on Angie's List and there were no reviews for them. I looked at other companies on Angie's List and found Florida Central Home Inspections (located in my area) with great reviews and they posted exactly the cost for the service I needed. Cost was actually less than what my insurance agent said it would cost. Called them, got an appointment next day, Charles Driggers came at the appointed time, explained all that was involved and he would email copy of report to my insurance agent and to me. Was very happy with service. Will use them again if I need any home inspections and will refer them to family and friends. Thank you Angie's List for this service. Really is worth the money to belong to your service. I am a single female senior and need all the help I can get to get good service people.

Called for a Wind Mitigation Inspection on a Thursday, Wind Mitigation Inspection was done by 10am on Friday. They E-mailed the report to myself and my Insurance Agent by noon that same day.
Quick service, Great price, Showed up on time. What else can I say...
If your Insurance requires you to have a Wind Mitigation Inspection then these are the people to do it. And on a side note, I do not give out praise often, they were just that good.

From the first phone call, they were eager to help. I had time restraints in which I needed to have the inspection completed and they were more than willing to get the job completed quickly and efficiently. The report was thorough, including pictures of all areas that were included in the report. In addition, after sending me the report, they called to let me know which areas in the home might need immediate attention. I was grateful for that information because the report was very long and detailed. His call let me target the items of concern so I could make an informed decision on the overall purchase of the property.

Ken was very personable, returned my call/VM in a reasonable amount of time. He was able to perform the inspection the next day after I spoke with him. The report was completed and delivered to me via email 2 days after that.
There was one error on the report, and he quickly amended the report once I pointed that out.
I would recommend Ken.

It was great. In and out in 1/2 hour. Checked the attic, inspected the house and wrote an excellent report that saved us $1,600 on insurance.

He arrived at the house even with a very bad storm headed our way.  He went up into the attic and took pictures of the hurricane straps, nails, etc.  Then he walked with me around the house and took pictures of the roof (even while it was sprinkling).  He was suprised to find out that my current homeowners insurance company was removing my hip roof discount.  He called back later that day and asked if he could come back over and do a measurement and an outline of the house to show what percent of the home was a hip roof and that less than 10% was gabled.  He then came back out with in 2 days and did just that and then he quickly sent me a copy of everything through e-mail so that I may submit it to my insurance company to see what discount(s) I could qualify after having the inspection completed.
