Feb 2011 contracted for removing old sod, leveling and laying new sod. Was convinced that Empire Zoysia was the way to go. It was more expensive than all the other grass but was willing to pay the extra based on their recommendation. Was told they would start the end of March. Called on March 1 to find out if we were still on the schedule. I was assured we were. Based on this I rented storage for our RV for the next 3 months. We were told to avoid driving over the grass for a few months.
On March 31 they called and wanted the downpayment on the job. I paid $1400. They came out around the first of April and cleared the yard, leaving me with dirt until the end of April. With two dogs this was a real problem. I called several times and was told they were having problems getting the grass.
On April 26, they finally came out to lay the sod. So much of the grass was dead and some was so bad it was in pieces and could not be laid. They threw it over the fence in the wetlands next to my house. They ran short and charged me for more grass to finish the job. I asked it they ran short because of the dead grass they threw over the fence. I was told no, he just miscalculated.........hum
They finished on 2 May. The grass was full of weeds, several dead areas and so unlevel you could actual sprain an ankle if you were not careful. On June 15th he came out and replaced some of the areas. Because of all the weeds we contracted a monthly service (one they recommened) to take care of the new lawn.
Maybe they take more pride in the bigger money making jobs, and that is fine. I even stated if you don't want to do my yard just let me know.
Going into the 3rd summer the grass is thin and full of weeds. Can't justify re-sodding again so will have to live with it for a while.

Tom had come to our house with the size palms that we thought we had wanted. He planted the trees and they didn't look exactly how we imagined them to look. He dug them up again and swapped them around until the yard came together. Tom had explained that some of the trees were not the correct size for the desired look that we had. He stated that he would be back and we had no idea what he was doing. About an hour later he showed back up with bigger trees and lots of small plants. I have to admit I looked at my husband and stated that we are not buying anything extra and that Tom was wasting his time unloading all these plants. Well after Tom was done swapping all the trees around again and placing the plants around the new beds he cut out the yard look amazing. Tom told me I could pick what I wanted and he would be happy to take everything else back to his shop. His truck left empty. I can't express enough how great the yard looks and how its perfectly symmetrical. They did not charge anything extra for repeated swapping around of the trees. The gardens cost $2700.00. Seven palms plus plants and grasses. So worth the price. As he was leaving I hired him to come back and install a sprinkler system. He charged $2500.00 for the sprinkler system. I have had the company back out to trim the trees. One additional comment. I asked Tom to put the landscape fabric down so I wouldn't have to weed. He stated that it's actually a waste of money and not to put it down. I'm glad we took his advice and saved the money. VERY VERY HAPPY with the entire crews service! We will be using the company to maintain the trees.

Came out for an estimate on a new patio. We mentioned in passing that our sprinkler system was causing problems. Guy started messing with it and got it running. Said he could have guys out the next morning to get it in tip-top shape, and that's exactly what they did. Not cheap, but got the job done quickly and has been working great since they left. No complaints about them for lawn sprinkler care.
