"We were hired to convert the irrigation water source from city to lake pump on an extremely old irrigation system to start the process of getting it running. We proposed what was asked, which was to replace pump, backflow, and inline filter located across the road from the home. Once completed, further repairs were found, as expected, on this very old system. These repairs could not be known or addressed until the proposed pump installation was complete and water was flowing through the system.Client understood this, but was still upset about installing the new pump setup to find that there were numerous additional repairs needed due to the system's age.The job was also prolonged due to the husband wanting to help to save money. We performed unforeseen repairs at a lower rate compared to the hours required, used our expertise to get this very old system running via the lake, and obliged the owner to help some to save money. In the end, the job was complete except for 3 hrs of work the owner said he would complete and the majority of what he paid for was for the pump/backflow/inline filter replacement. We are very surprised by this review after what we completed for this owner 9 months ago."
"This owner was very difficult to work with. We created a landscape design for her according to her needs and wants on the property. She changed the design multiple times throughout the installation process. One of the changes was she didn't want the viburnums we recommended for the specified area, but instead insisted on a different variety. We accommodated her many layout and plant changes to the design that she created. (By the time the project was complete, it was nothing like our design or plant recommendations for her property.) We had many call backs after we had already completed the job to her specification because she wanted to make yet another change. Once the job was finally completed we walked the property with her husband. He approved the job, but yet again she called wanting another change and didn't care that her husband was happy with the install. Due to the many issues and changes throughout the process, a supervisor walked the property with her going over everything. The day following the job completion, we received a poor review from her on Angie's List. This was very disheartening as we worked very hard to accommodate her continual changes so she was happy with what ended up being her design and none of our recommendations. 2 months later she calls wanting us to come back yet again because some plants are dying. Anything can happen in 2 months and we have no control over her proper maintenance of the material. We completed the job and have no intention of working for this owner again."
"We provided irrigation that was approved and it took almost 2 months of constantly calling & emailing the client to obtain payment. We proposed what the husband requested to be proposed. Upon arrival at the property, the wife was there. She asked us to do it differently and approved us to do it the way we performed it. What she wanted and what he wanted were different things. Her husband wasn’t happy with that and took awhile to tell us that after we were continually asking for payment. This then became an almost 2 month ordeal of the husband giving empty complaints except one issue…burying a pipe deeper. We initially didn’t bury a pipe deeper due to us not wanting to damage a tree’s root system, but after discussing we went ahead and buried deeper. Other than that, everything else was unfounded and he always took 1 to 2 weeks to allow us to go back to the property to discuss the new issue with him. One issue was he claimed we used the wrong size pipe in an area. We explained we had to use the same size pipe, 1/2", that he already had in that area. We also went back to the property at no charge to remove some items the wife had us install and then we removed that portion from the invoice in an effort to lower the invoice for them. He then called and claimed we caused a low pressure issue. We explained again we didn’t cause this and showed him his pool company ran over and crushed his valves and main line. Also, the price the owner provided in the review for his irrigation rerouting is inaccurate. It was $490, not $600."
"The way this picture was taken, it implies this area is low to the ground near where we perform our lawn maintenance duties. It is not. This is high off of the ground 5 foot up and behind a bed area where us, and certainly our equipment, have not been. Immediately upon being notified that he has damage, a supervisor assessed the area and pictures were documented. We explained it was found it wasn't possible we had anything to do with this area as we are no where near this area, but we will have a second supervisor inspect the area. Once again, the 2nd supervisor agreed this isn't possible and this area could have been like this for quite some time without us even knowing because we don't work in that area of the property. This client also complained about the quality of his service. The grounds were found to be completely weed free during these inspections and well cared for despite having almost daily rain since he commenced service. Active cancelled his service due to his continual unfounded accusations in just 5 weeks. We also did not charge him for the 5th week. We pride our self in the reliable and consistent service we continually provide to our many clients and find that we cannot continue to devote our efforts to this type of client, but instead must move on."
