Concrete Repair
First clue that there was a problem was that I had to correct errors in form work several times. I also had to mark the j-bolt locations and minimum exposure for the bolts (something the crew believed was unnecessary as they fished from my dock instead of working on the project). The real story unfolded on the day of the pour when 7 people showed up with no-one apparently in charge. Some of the highlights of the pour: Two blowouts due to improperly braced form work. Ordered insufficient concrete for the job resulting in a cold joint within the pour. Sections of concrete "burned" black from excessive power troweling. Sections of concrete finished prematurely. Half the J-bolts that were marked for 3 inch exposure installed below 1 and a half inches. A garage threshold that is humped up over an inch in the middle. Over 30 feet of cracks within 30 days. This company may be qualified to pour an air-conditioner pad but that is about it.
