This is a fairly routine procedure when a girl is to be mated. Their dog skills are great, and everything went smoothly. I got a sense of both love of animals and professional competence.
There was a minor mixup. Progesterone test results need to be back ASAP and the front desk made my appointment too late for their normal service to get the blood to the lab for testing. They ran a special trip to drive the samples to the lab and results were available early the next day, which was great..

They were very helpful. We brought our animals in there in an emergency situation and they took them in immediately. They do a lot of checking in afterwards to make sure the animals are still doing OK and how they are even just after regular visit. They are all very friendly and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend them.

I brought my 8 yr old female Golden in for a second opinion for a tumorous mass on her eyelid. We formerly used Dr. Molly and Micanopy Animal Hospital (MAH), but we moved out of the area and found another vet that was closer. MAH is now in a completely new and modern facility and we were very impressed. Dr. Molly was her usual friendly, bubbly self and welcomed us back enthusiastically. She examined our dog in great detail and with much care and concern. She confirmed that the eyelid mass needed to be surgically removed asap. She said a very good surgeon would be performing a procedure at MAH in a couple days and to bring our girl by for a "free" consultation. We took her in and the surgeon examined her thoroughly. Dr. Molly called me and confirmed her findings that surgery needed to happen right away. Now here's the part that separates Dr. Molly from the rest of the pack. She said the surgery was more complicated than she and the other surgeon felt comfortable performing and she recommended that we have it done by an Opthomalogist at the Small Animal Hospital at the University of Florida. She and her staff made all the arrangements for us to go to UF for the consult. We saw two Opthomologists at UF, Dr. Plummer and Dr. Hendrickson. They were wonderful and so caring! The UF facility is world class! Our girl had the surgery and to make a long story short, complete success! They were so skilled you can hardly tell that she had a surgery. Dr. Molly could have attempted the surgery at MAH, but she selflessly did the right thing and recommended the surgeons at UF for this difficult procedure. We cannot thank her enough and will be using MAH for all of our veterinary needs in the future. There isn't a high enough rating for this practice. I wish they did people!

As always it was pleasant and non stressful to the animals. The dog left happy and the cat, well if you own them you will understand, the cat left less unhappy than when she got there :-)

I have previously known all three of the veterinarians that are at Micanopy Animal Hospital and since I couldn't take my dog to All Cats, that was my next choice. I wouldn't hesitate to take any of my animals there. All of the veterinarians are first class, take a lot of time with you animal, and explain everything to you. They have a very nice facility and if you're in Ocala or Gainesville, it's a short drive with no traffic. The staff is great and they have an excellent groomer that loves animals.
Their charges are very reasonable, and they're always easy to get in touch with (over the phone, etc) if you have questions.
They even have a web page where you can get and add information on your animal and make appointments on line.

Vet was very knowledgeable and took the time to talk with me about any concerns i had, and to look my dog over very well. This is the kind of vet i have been looking for in the Gainesville area, one that knows what there doing, cares about your animals health, and as a bonus the office and staff is nice.

I have been going to Micanopy Animal Hospital since Dr. Pearson began to practice. I have never had a bad experience. The doctors and staff have exhibited caring and concern with all my dogs major and minor needs over the years. Dr. Wendland has a good feel for basic bird care.

I have been taking my chow mix, Bear, to Dr. Molly Pearson at Micanopy Animal Hospital (the new building is a state-of-the-art facility), for most of his 10 years. She is wonderful with him and, in the past, has seen us through a life-threatening bout of ehrlichiosis and two torn cruciate ligaments, as well as skin allergies and other problems. My dog is not the easiest dog to examine, but she and her wonderful staff have always been great with him. Most recently, I took my dog to her because of a sudden case of bad breath (he had no other symptoms and appeared to be healthy--recent blood work showed no problems either). She examined his teeth (not under anesthesia) and could not find anything. At first she thought it might be bacteria in the wet fur around his mouth, but also suggested I try antacids. These made a huge difference, so she recommended seeing a specialist for an endoscopy. When he was examined under anesthesia for the endoscopy, the specialist discovered a tumor in his cheek that was not obvious under routine examination. Although this was not good news, I am grateful to Dr. Pearson for encouraging me to look further for an answer and for taking my concerns seriously. I know she and her staff will support us in whatever we are facing.
