additional $475 on the day of pick-up. We were furious, but they were
holding our belongings hostage on the truck, so there wasn't much we
could do. Then they copped out on the delivery date. It was originally scheduled for 3-5 days after our move. I was informed by Lisa, (owner/manager) that they couldn't deliver until about 13 days out because they got "hung up" in another state. We finally agreed on the 15th of the month, which was pay-day for us, and we were going to pay for the move with that money. A couple of days before the agreed upon delivery date, I got a call from Lisa saying that they were going to be a couple of days early. I was like, "What the heck? We agreed on the 15th and I told you it had to be that day so we could pay for the move." I was told they were delivering when they wanted to, and that if we couldn't pay for it, there would be an additional "restock" fee, and they'd charge us for storage, ( despite their claim of free storage for a month. )THEN she tried to charge us extra because we lived in a hilly area,
and she claimed they might have to "shuttle" our stuff into the
neighborhood, which would've been an additional $700. She said it would be "up to the driver". So basically, we MIGHT have to pay an additional $700 on the day of the move-in, depending on what the driver wanted. We found out from
neighbors that big semi-trucks come into the neighborhood all the time,
so THEN they charged us an additional $150 for us having a long
driveway which they REFUSED to pull into, despite us telling them they
could. At every step of the way this UNPROFESSIONAL company tried to
charge us extra money and rip us off. Dealing with Lisa (owner/manager,) was a NIGHTMARE. I remember when I called to tell her that semi trucks came into our neighborhood all the time, (so that wouldn't be a way they could rip us off for more money,) she hung up the phone on me. Then when I called back, I was on hold listening to their recording which touts, "We make your move stress free!". I remember thinking, "What a JOKE!!! I have never had a MORE stressful experience with a company, ever!" Her excuse for hanging up on me was that I was supposedly "abusing her". Yeah, I guess the TRUTH and trying to protect oneself from thieves is "abuse". The only reason they didn't try to get away with shuttling our stuff and charging us an additional $700, was because I threatened to call the state Attorney General, Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau, in addition to suing them. This company (Lisa,) would walk all over someone who didn't fight back and stand up for themselves.
In addition to the problem of them trying to rip us off at every turn, some of the packing was COMPLETELY unprofessional. Our lawn mower was packed with gasoline in it.... which spilled out all over other items. But they refused to let us put 3 EMPTY 5-gallon gas containers on the truck, which would've saved us some hassle. They ruined our stainless steel kitchen trash can, packed our microfiber sofa and loveseat by wrapping it with packing tape, which took a good while to get off, and a whole box of items was broken up. When my mirror was re-attached to the dresser during reassembly, the nail almost came through the front of it. (You can easily see it.) This is on a $6,500 bedroom set. Our king sized 4-poster bed is huge, and I was trying to figure out the position I wanted it in, because once it's set up, you can't move it, and the guy putting the bed together, (same guy who ruined my mirror,) threw a little tantrum because "It's never taken me THIS long to put a bed together!". (All I wanted to do was measure both sides of the bed to get the bed evenly positioned in the room.) He walked outside, refusing to finish it. Wow... excuse me. It's just THE most important item in the house that needs putting together, and it really needs to be in the right place. His buddy tried to cover for his bad behavior by explaining to me that, "He's under a lot of stress lately. His son is in jail for attempted murder". Here again... WOW!
They are a joke of a company. DO NOT USE THEM! You will regret it if you do.
