They were professional, sharp, and handled my furniture and boxes with ...precision! They would tell each other directions like "back, back, back, left, back..." and it was impressive to see them in action.
A Navy brat who has moved more than 25 times in my life, this has been the very best move I have ever experienced! So good that I asked the guys for business cards, which I took over to the sales office of the new home development I have moved into.
My move would have cost about $500 but I had a Groupon good for $200 off a mid-week move.
Was glad to find out about your company when I saw a truck on the highway. Was even happier that you have such a high rating on Angie's List. Now I know why!
"Thanks for taking your time to review Two Marines Moving! Be it a big or small job....we always seek to treat each customer and their belongings with the utmost care and respect. Nick Baucom Founder & President Two Marines Moving P.S. You mentioned that we moved your items into a mobile container. Two Marines Moving now offers storage solutions! We would appreciate your consideration for future moving AND storage needs!"
The crew was constantly on the move during the entire 'mission'. Kody, the crew chief, did a great job to keep everyone in check for the different special areas that we needed to address. We had packed as much as we could, but there were still some leftovers. That didn't face the crew. They also listened when we told them that we wanted to store some of the heavier furniture in the townhouse basement, along with most of the boxes. Some of the crew members didn't seem to quite grasp how we wanted things stored (to get the maximum out of the relatively small space), but after discussion with Kody he made sure that everyone understood and directed the operation.
The crew was curteous, efficient and kept moving all day long. The move was estimated at 6.5 hours based on an estimate via email (I had sent an email with a list of the big items and an approximate number of boxes (about 100). The entire move ended up taking 10 hours (with some short breaks for food & drink, etc.). If we had not been present during the entire move, it might have looked like the crew was slow, since the actual move went about 50% over the original estimate. Howeve, we saw that they were hustling all day long, so the additional time was purely due to the amount of items to be moved. Obviously it would be best to get an estimate from someone experienced who comes to your house in person to have a look at how much there is to move. If you get estimates over the phone or email I would recommend padding that number a bit to make sure that you're not negatively surprised.
ascially, I would recommend Two Marines to family, friends and anyone else who needs a moving company in a heartbeat. I gave a B for pricing since other companies had quoted lower rates. I'm not sure if this is fair since I don't have anything to compare the price I paid to Two Marines in the end.
"I love your review! I wish this could be re-posted on other review sites! A) Thanks for mentioning that you wanted to support Veterans. You are directly responsible for that crew working that day! B) I like how you mention that the crew chief on your move was the most experienced, took direction well, and properly supervised his troops. Every now and then I get a complaint that the supervisor knew exactly what he was doing, but had to give a little direction to his subordinates. Well dugh, of-course the supervisor is supposed to supervise! He's been selected to be a supervisor b/c he has the most experience, best communication skills, and is the most apt at problem solving. I also appreciate that you mentioned how we hustled despite the fact that we came in over the quote! It's ALWAYS our intention to hustle and move with a purpose. Sometimes we come in under the quote (which a large part of is comprised by the amount of time spent on the job) and sometimes we come in over the quote. Either way, we ONLY charge for the amount of time actually worked. It's fair to the customer and fair to the company. We NEVER have hidden fees, and appreciate your understanding that each mission is unique so it's hard to provide an exact estimate. As a side not for other members reading this, the more specific you are with the details the better! If we're only told "I only have a typical 3bedroom with some furniture in the basement, a Master BR set, and kitchen stuff" then it's hard to narrow down your estimate. It's much better if were told, "I have a 3BR single family house with easy access to the front door going to a 3BR on the 10th floor of an apt with a reserved elevator and loading dock and a 100 foot walk. I have a king bed, dresser, 2 night stands, dining room table, couch, love seat, 6 chairs, desk, and probably 55 boxes". The more details the better! Thanks again for making my day and supporting the troops! Nick Baucom Founder - President Two Marines Moving"
