What the jeweler failed to mention is that they would change the appearance of my ring. I was upset when I picked it up - the diamond sat up higher than in the original setting. So, they offered to lower the diamond back down for me and have me come back later that same day. When I did, it looked worse. It's not clear to me if they dropped the diamond down or not - the diamond still looks like it sits higher than the original setting, but there was what appeared to be whitish material (it honestly looked like glue) at the base - they said there were "hearts" at the base, that I couldn't even discern from what looked like a blob of glue at the base until I asked them why this blob was a different color than the rest of the ring. They took the ring back to "polish it up" (why wasn't this done before they'd given it to me? It looked terrible), at which point I could detect the "hearts" at the base of the ring. The "hearts" are tacky, although to be honest, you probably wouldn't notice them unless you got up close. But regardless, my ring looks different than it did when I dropped it off, which was not part of the deal. Geoffrey said to bring it back and they would pick out a new basket for it - not clear if they would fix it at no fee, or if I would have to pay for them to try again to get it back to what it looked like originally. No one apologized, and one person (older man - owner?) even turned around and walked away from me when I said my ring doesn't look like it used to. I found this extremely rude and disrespectful, and it seems to indicate they aren't concerned about customer service.
