"The comment is quite unfair in light of what transpired. The fact that three other contractors failed to show up may have created a preconceived notion that we also were not interested in the project. In fact, we were delighted to meet the homeowner and to provide a complimentary estimate. The level of note taking is commensurate with the size and complexity of a project and should not be used to gauge contractor interest levels. The facts are as follows: Shear was first contacted by homeowner on July 12; met on-site the very next day, and generated a proposal within 13 days of the initial contact. Unfortunately we used an incorrect email address and our proposal did not reach the homeowner leading to the assumption was that we failed to follow through. Our Policy is to follow up with all leads on the 5th business day, and as such, this lead was on our August 1 call list. We immediately contacted the homeowner this morning (July 31) after Angie’s List alerted us of the negative review. We attempted to explain our position, and error, however the owner became irritated and abruptly cut off the call. Our other Angie’s List reviews show the great pride we take in all areas of customer service and communication standards and this incident was a rare and unfortunate case of unintentional miscommunication."
Gary was punctual and very professional, he shows great knowledge and experience of what he does. Unfortunately our budget was much lower than his quote. I'm pretty sure that he charges accordingly to his experience and the quality of his work. At this moment we were recovering from a great monetary loss and we were trying to save as much as possible, the bathroom remodeling was not in our plans, we had to demolish it due to a leaking pipe that also extended the damage outside in our driveway
If it wasn't for our situation Shear Construction was the best candidate for this job.
