Norwegian Cruise Line has some great things going for it, touting "Freestyle" cruising without the stuffy convention of traditional cruises (no formal "seatings" for dinner, etc.) The cuisine is fabulous and varied with good entertainment on the ship. However, my travel companion and I experienced distasteful and unprofessional "hard sell" pressure to buy products used in spa treatments. (My more elderly companion was pressured relentlessly and succumbed to purchasing nearly $500 in skin care products--this ruined the entire cruise experience for her). They also tout beautiful Fitness Center facilities but once on ship you learn that the lap pool, workout rooms and studios, steam and sauna, etc are "off limits" unless you pay an additional $40 per day fee. NCL has been either unresponsive, or snide and unhelpful post-trip as my travel companion attempts to resolve a billing error that resulted in her credit card being charged twice for the trip.
