Lazaro Fence

My husband and I have being looking for a good fence contractor for 7 months prior in hiring  Lazaro Fence (AkA Ultra Fence). We live in a corner home, so we decide to fenced up the property and hire Lazaro Fence to do the work. He was very punctual and polite and metioned had 41 years experience in this trade. Everything turned out so sour, bad, Never showed up when they said they would. The entire fence work was done in small parts took them until now to finished with all the details. No supervion on the job site, so there were so many mistakes is unvailable this people are still in business. My front driveway gate was supposed to have two rolling gates and he took upon himself to build one rolling gate 30' long. Which now is severly sagging in the middle, the wheels on the gate are not space out evenly, missing caps on post, stress cracks showing already. One other gate was swinging outward instead of inward. Lazaro said dont worry it will pass inpection, and ofcouse!!! Inspector did not pass it, so the gate had to be inverte!!!! now all design at the bottom of the gate are showing inward. And post have holes from previous hinges. The entire job ilooks like it was amature made. This was a nightmare of job. Final Inspection has failed already three times.
The girls at the office never retured your phone calls or for the fact my emails were ignore for the most time.
Horrible job!!! waste of my time dealing with this disaster.  Never again will I hire this people.

After taking the day off from work, the contractor never showed up or called.

I selected this vendor because I hired them in 1986. I was happy to see they were still in business. This ordeal began in June2014. They advised me that per code the gates could not be taller thn 5 feet. They manufactured it 4 inches too tall. Of course didn't pass inspection. They attempted to lower them sloppily where they were unbalanced and did not align withe the side panels.. Failed inspection again. Then. Finally redid the gates but left the side panels same height. Failed inspection again. Now they dig a 4 inch trench and bury the gates. Can't open or close them now. The latches are also defective and now the gates are rusting all over and they are only four months old. To add insult to injury. The young lady who answers the phone always claims to call you back with a response and never does. Beware this company also uses the name Utra Fence! Pictures of above are available.

Well they advised me that according to Code in my area the gates could not be taller than 5 feet. They manufactured them 4 inches to tall. Of course did not pass inspection. They lowered them so they did not match the side panels.
Again to tall and now doors not balanced. Again did not pass inspection. Then they dug a 4 inch trench and buried the gate, so it's 4 inches lower but won't open or close because it's buried in a trench. We started this adventure in June. Today is Nov 28th I'm in the same situation but now the aluminum gates are rusting all over. Also the young lady who answers the phone always claims to call you back and never does. The ironic thing is that I used them in 1986 and was happy to see they were still in business. But Beware they also call themselves Ultra Fence. Pictures of all of the above are available

He came out but never responded back to my phone call. He was professional; it was just that he told me that it was going to cost that much and I had to think about it but when I called back, he never picked up. The price was fair.

Lazaro installed a new wooden fence with gate.  It was approx. 30' in length with seven posts.  Three of the posts to hold the fence up have completed warped and pulled away from the fencing causing the fence to sag and the gate no longer closes.  Some of the dog ears for the fence are also warped.  I believe the material was cheap even though their price was not the cheapest.  I have contacted Lazaro at least 10 times and every time they have promised to come out and replace the three wooden posts and dog ears.  This has been going on since April and the fence was not even a year old before the posts started warping.  I have given up on trying to get them to come out and will probably pursue legal action against this fraudulent company.

The fence is well built and good quality.  There were some issues getting a replacement gate installed that fit an odd sized space, but in the end the work was completed and well done.  It did take some time to get this work completed, but I had no real deadline and once they began work, it went quickly.  They were very neat and careful of my new outdoor electric.  In all, they may have more work than they can handle which contibuted to delays and there appears to be some communication issue between estimator, office and field crew, BUT, they were friendly, careful and the work is fine.  I am glad I just waited it out.

The job was for a wood fence rebuild or a possible gated fence.

The quality of work was excellent. The only reason that I give a B is because it took so long to complete the job. We signed an agreement by the end of March and the job was completed early June.

I told the service provider several weeks ago that I did not like the paint he planned on using for my fence. He showed me the paint and it was like water. I informed him that I wanted a thicker masonry paint. Also, you need to put a sealant on the wood before applying the paint. I woke up this morning and they came out and did the work without my approval of the paint that was being used on my fence. They did not use sealant on the wood either. They did not listen to me.

Poor Communication/Good work

I called the company on March 28, 2013. They responded quickly and came out almost immediately. The person looked at my gate and estimated the repair at $200.00. He called in the ticket and I was then faxed an invoice. The person who came out, stated he has to submit an order for the parts, which will take a couple of days. I called their office and spoke to a young lady who apologized and stated she will call me back, she has to call Lazaro, to find out what happened. Two more  weeks went by and still no phone call,  yet I have a bill with an incorrect name. At this point a whole month went by. I then called again and the explained the situation. The same young lady then apologized again and stated she will call me back. Today is May 6, 2013 and still no phone call. I will not call this company back even though they were quick to give an estimate they were not quick enough to complete or even start the job. I called them back again and still can not get any assistance.

The person came and looked at what needed to be done.  Basically repair some of the fence around the pool.  He quoted a price, and said they would come and work the next saturday.  He did not show up.  I called the week after, and he said they would come the next  few days.  They never showed up, they did not call back either. 

They did a great job.  The fencing barrier was completed within a handful of days and the gate entrances in about four weeks (because the gates needed to constructed and painted).  They were quick, polite, and clean (in the sense that the work site was left in a good condition with no debris, etc.).  It was an excellent, professional job from start to finish.  We are very happy with the overall job.  Our dog can no longer jump or scale the fence and the gate entrances are quite nice.

I haven’t done the job yet. They came out right away. They were very responsive, but I didn’t go ahead. I would call them and I would use them. I wouldn’t hesitate to call them back when I am ready. I think the quote was around $1200. They were very courteous in answering the phone. The lady contacted the estimator on the field. He came by within one or two hours. So, I was very impressed with that. They were very prompt and very quick.

I was pleased with Lazaro and the finished product.

They came out and measured and provided us with a bid in 1 day. There bid was very competitive. I drew a sketch of exactly what I wanted; I faxed it to them. Within 2 days, they installed the fence. It was perfect. We were thrilled with the timeliness of the work & quality of the work. I would definitely recommend them to any one that needs some fencing in their yard.
