This was the second time I had contracted with Before and After Finish Carpentry LLC, to do work at our house. Last year, 2013, we redid our kitchen and family room, and were extremely happy with the results. This time we wanted to redo our master bathroom and bedroom. Mr. Bettencourt stripped the bathroom down to the studs, removing all of the old 1980's decor and fixtures, to make way for the gorgeous new master bath that is more spa like than ever. We expanded the shower, moved the toilet and moved the drain to accommodate our corner whirlpool tub. We added a custom double vanity, redid insulation in all the walls and ceiling. Changed exhaust fans, added multiple types of lighting. We also did extensive tile work, with multiple types of tile. We were very pleased with the subcontractors that Mr. Bettencourt worked with. Everyone was very polite and pleasant, punctual, and most everyone cleaned up after themselves. If they didn't, Mr. Bettencourt did, so that my house was as tidy as possible under the circumstances. He would arrive when he said he would, and if he was going to be late, he telephoned me to inform me of the delay. He was very courteous, and tried his best to solve any issue that arose. We were so impressed with his professionalism and honesty that when we went on a week's vacation, we gave him the key to our house, and a code for the alarm; which is something that we had never done before. He did not disappoint us, the bathroom is spectacular! In our bedroom and dressing area, he also installed new woodwork, consisting of wainscoting, chair rail, crown molding and covered two brick columns with wood, and built two connecting walls attached to the brick columns, thereby forming a formal entry to the sleeping area. When I awaken in the morning I lie in bed and just look at the transformation of our bedroom and dressing area. It is truly astonishing. It took 3 months for the entire work to be completed, but the end result was worth all the dust. We are very happy with our new master suite, and want to thank Mr. Bettencourt for all his hard work and his cheerfulness.
