The door was install incorrectly and leaks. They came out, but made a bigger mess. Chipped away the outside concrete, but didnt repair. Caulked the inside, but looks like my three year old did it. When I told them this was unprofessional and unacceptable, they got upset and left. Years later it still leaks.

Got different quotes from few reputable places on PGT web site list of vendors plus of course researched Angie's list. They were not the cheapest but also not the most pricey either. Estimate was itemized. Have a nice showroom, I even bought door handles from them and when the one for my front door didnt work bc previous one was different size, they took it back. Great customer service. Only thing I wasn't too pleased about was that after I received quote for my huge kitchen roller/slider window, they didn't mention that the impact window wouldn't be properly installed if I didnt install a steel post to hold it. This was extra money and came as a surprise!! That was the only downside, I am guessing after all they were concerned with my safety! When I saw the steel bar/post it was massive so I know it was a safety issue. I should be fortunate that they actually took necessary precautions on a job well done. In Miami any other company would have done it and installed it without saying anything ad left it to luck. I do have to say they take pride in their work and take customer service seriously. Daily they would send one of their reps to check on progress and voice my concerns and questions. It's been 2 years and i love my new doors and the comfort and convenience my kitchen window brings.

Astor Windows and Doors were very professional and the whole process from picking out a door to having it installed was completed with no problems. One of the advantages is they have a showroom where you can see their many products. Permitting and final approvals were completed with no problems.
My only complaint is we originally got measuered for three doors, picked out the doors and put down the deposit. We did not find out later that two of the doors could not be done due to the structure of the house around the existing doors. An additional cost and permitting would be needed two of the doors.
My advice is to have Astor confirm your existing structure will work before you pick out the doors and make payment.
That said, we were still very happy with the company and the new front door that was installed.
We would use this company again.

I had called about 5 different window companies, with a variety of experiences... good and bad. Astor's representative came out to meet me at my home and provided everything I expected in a Window company. They gave me a fair price for about 33 PGT windows and 3 hurricane doors: $25,000. I had two offers below that and 2 above. I even had one company try to sell me a lower quality window for $10,000 more than what Astor was offering. Astor included all of the stucco/drywalling that would have to be done after they tore out the windows. My home in particular was challenging as it was built in 1925. Bobby was very responsive to all of my concerns, coming out to the house multiple times for little issues that tend to crop up in big projects like this. I was happy with their customer service. All of the workers who came out to my house were extremely professional and seemed to take a lot of pride in what they were doing. The whole process probably took about 3 months. 8 weeks to order/receive the windows, and another 3 weeks of installation and drywall. No complaints really. Obviously, you should expect dust and even more so with a house like mine. But the workers even mopped up after themselves and covered everything as needed. I was usually home while they were here, however there were a few days when I just left the key for them and they locked up after they were done. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent service. The owner immediately stepped in when our salesperson left the company. We had a problem with the glass PGT used in the large sliding door but both Astor and PGT were responsive and followed up with new replacement products until we were satisfied. I highly recommend Astor and the PGT products are beautiful.

For lots of reasons I had a mix of window types - horizontal sliding,
single-hung, and awning. Also ordered different types of glass for
different windows. They measured multiple times, ordered what I wanted,
and when installation started they kept at it without interruption
until finished. I give highest rating for their handling of the and quot;bumpsand quot;
that are inevitable - when the salesman who had been working with me on
the project left Astor, the owner stepped in to communicate and finish
all arrangements to my satisfaction. When I asked for a different crank
handle on a couple of the awning windows they provided them no charge.
When they removed the old windows in the front bay, it was particularly
challenging to figure out how to attach the new windows to the house
structure while maintaining hurricane-strength resistance. They
engineered and installed an extremely effective system, and made sure it
passed on appearance as well. They were good with permits,
inspections, the whole process. When we determined that the garage
window and an equally-sized bedroom-window had been switched at
installation, they left the higher-priced window in the garage and
upgraded the bedroom window to the higher-priced window (better glass)
at no charge, sent out the installer and took care of it (left the old
glass with me for emergency replacement). Might have gotten cheaper
somewhere else but the peace of mind that they did their very best to do
a superior job was worth it.

They were very good because they took care of everything. But there were a lot of problems with some the products that they used during the work. They fixed everything, but I have mixed reviews about the experience. They took good care of me though. Very attentive owner.

I got quotes from two companies, and went with Astor even though their quote was about $3,000 higher (note: the other company did not quote PGT or Lawson - was a different window manufacturer - so not and quot;apples to applesand quot; comparison.)

I was impressed by their professionalism and responsiveness. I liked that they have a showroom - someplace where I could go and find them face-to-face if anything went wrong (thankfully, nothing went wrong!). They also have a very good and informative website.

Astor did everything from securing the permit to ensuring a smooth final inspection. I contracted with them on January 17th and passed the inspection on March 16th. One of my old window openings was very problematic, requiring additional reinforced concrete at base, etc. I felt Astor did an excellent job communicating the problem to me, and doing what was necessary to ensure a secure/safe installation.

General Manager Carlos Paesano checked on the installation work on several occasions, especially with the problematic window opening. I feel confident that between their experienced installer and Mr. Paesano's personal involvement, my family is very secure with these new windows.

Astor sent skilled workers to our home for each phase of the project. They handled the entire permitting process, which is very complex and difficult in our town. They never missed a beat from application to final inspection. The engineering work was precise and every door and each square, round, and octagonal window was installed with care and precision. I wish that Astor did did more than just doors and windows! I would love to get this kind of quality and reliability out of my other subs. We did not have a single issue or complaint with Astor on this job.

I joined Angie's list with the immediate goal of finding a window contractor. Astor had excellent reviews and then a few days later I saw that a neighbor was using them so it felt like fate that I at least talk to them. I did get several estimates, however. Theirs was very fair and spelled out in detail. Astor also uses several different products at various price points which gives the consumer some options. The installers were great; they were prompt, neat and all work was completed in a timely and precise fashion. Every aspect of the process was handled in a professional and forthright manner. I would definitely recommend this company and I plan on working with them for future projects in my home.

While we really wanted this company to do the installation, Carlos candidly told us that they had a large installation in progress and couldn't promise anything soon. After some discussion, we decided to use him as a consultant and have another company do the installation. He helped us every step of the way. As a result, we hired a good company, got a good contract and got a good solid neat timely installation that passed inspection with no problems. We believe that his guidance was a critical piece in a very satisfactory project.

We selected Astor from several different bids due to the professionalism we experienced with the company from the first day we met them. The experience could not have gone better. Our most important concern was the honesty of the company along with its quality of course, and they far exceeded our expectations. This company is absolutely professional and straightforward and the quality of work is superior. They clearly are concerned with every detail of the job and I would highly recommend them. I have come to know the owner since then and have referred several friends to him who were also happy with the job.

Installing windows in a home that is 5000 sq. feet and adorned with many large windows was quite a challenge. My situation presented an even greater challenge given that a prior partial installation had been botched. What I learned the hard way during the experience is that installing hurricane windows correctly involves a great deal of preparation and attention to detail. The company I previously hired installed several windows which had multiple issues that soon became obvious to me, even with an untrained eye. This was very disappointing considering the company had come well-recommended. (I speculate that expectations are low regarding contracted work in South Florida.) It was not surprising that my outstanding structural engineer, Carlos Perez, and Astor Windows would find even more serious concerns that were not so immediately apparent, issues such as replacing old wood buck, leaving the appropriate amount of space between the window and foundation, and insuring proper structural support to accommodate placement of the windows. These were just some of the issues that were involved in my installation. I suspect there are many people out there who don’t know that the protection they think are receiving with impact windows may be compromised. I certainly learned a lot during the process. Aside from the more important functional aspects of the windows, a very important concern was the aesthetic presentation of the windows. There were many decisions to be made regarding the size, type, and placement of windows in terms of the overall visual affect. Again, this was an area where many mistakes could have been made, and I know other friends who have some regrets regarding the windows they chose, but my many windows could not have come out more beautiful. While with impact windows, a sound installation is paramount, the work is ultimately judged by the aesthetic result. Astor Windows excelled beyond my expectations in this department as well including expert stucco work, painting, caulking, wood work, and some unique issues in my installation such as filling in gaps with expert tile work so that the final installation had the appearance of being originally installed with the construction of my home, rather than an afterthought. I finally want to make a comment on the price of my project – it certainly is an expensive investment. Although I had sought out recommendations on my first installer who I had to fire, I admit that I made a big mistake by ultimately choosing him based on price. After having your company perform the installation, and at a price that was in the big scheme of things, only moderately higher than some other estimates, I realize that what I got was the best possible value out there and really the best value for any work that I have done during my 13 years of owning a home in South Florida. I have learned that window installation is a low margin business, and that a promise of a lower price will almost certainly be accompanied by a compromise in the installation – this is the most important advice I would have for any prospective buyers of impact windows. The entire process with Astor Windows from planning to finish was simply stellar. I have never given a higher recommendation to a company for any type of job.

It was a pleasure working with this company from start to finish. Astor Contruction was one of five contractors we researched and requested price quotes from. They were not the least expensive but came in at the mid-range. Our decision to work with Astor, was made based on the contractors ability to work with us and to help realize our vision, and to accommodate our requirements for some demolition and construction as well as a demonstrated quality of product and workmanship verified by us and by references provided by Astor. The company was extremely professional and reliable and all work was started and completed on schedule and according to code as we are obliged to request permits for all construction in our neighborhood. There were no hitches or surprises that delayed the progress and completion of the work as the company showed great initiative and problem solving skills when faced with anything unexpected.

The company was extremely thorough in measuring, in obtaining the requisite wind studies, and in obtaining the required permits and inspections. The installers were highly professional and dedicated. Any minor issues along the way were quickly and satisfactorily dealt with. The final result was an excellent installation of high-quality windows and doors. The only negatives encountered were the inevitable noise of sawing concrete and the associated fine dust.

It went great overall. They did a great job, they were fast, and very professional. They were very good at cleaning up afterward as well.
