My recent experience with ARS Rescue Rooter was nothing short of torment, marred by a complete lack of accountability. Not only did they over charge for installation services, but they also demonstrated a shocking disregard for legal compliance and customer service. The ordeal began when ARS Rescue Rooter conducted work on our property without properly closing the permit. This oversight is not only a violation of regulatory requirements but also reflects their careless approach to completing jobs. When we contacted their customer service to rectify this issue, we were met with promises of escalation and resolution. However, despite reaching out four times, we never received a callback or any indication that our concerns were being addressed. The failure to close the permit not only exposes ARS Rescue Rooter's lack of attention to detail but also leaves us vulnerable to potential legal ramifications. Their negligence has placed an unnecessary burden on my spouse and myself, as we now have to navigate the bureaucratic maze of closing permits ourselves, all while having dwelt with their incomplete workmanship. This egregious mishandling of the situation is indicative of ARS Rescue Rooter's systemic failures in both service delivery and customer care. Their blatant disregard for regulatory compliance and their inability to follow through on promises epitomize a company that prioritizes profit over professionalism. In conclusion, anyone considering their services should proceed with extreme caution or, better yet, seek out reputable alternatives that prioritize integrity and customer satisfaction. ARS Rescue Rooter has failed miserably in upholding their responsibilities to their customers, and they should be held accountable for their substandard practices.

Gabriel Padilla attended to my indoor "hot" issue and even arriving at 12:45am was full of enthusiasm to resolve my problem. He knew right away simply by the sound of the compressor (fan was working) what was wrong. The capacitor was faulty. After a verification check, quick replacement, and all was good again. He left me with some valuable technical information. I purchased my central air unit from ARS in May 2017 and it and the services I have received like from Gabriel Padilla has been exemplary.

The process up to and including the install was a breeze. The minute I paid, they forgot about me. My contract includes an inspection and that was never done. I have called multiple times to discuss this issue. ONCE a lady told me it would be at least 4-5 weeks to get to the scheduling of the permit inspection. After that, I get the same answer every time....I will send them a note to have them call you back. When I say I have already left several messages and nobody calls me back, they all say, ok I will mark it urgent. What a joke! The last call the lady said ok I'm going to make sure they call you by the end of the day. Yeah right! That did not happen. I am beyond not happy with this company and my next step is to consult a lawyer. I paid for this and it's in the contract. They need to follow through! At the very least, keep in contact and let me know what is going on! I can understand if you are behind. What I cannot forgive is the lack of communication!

BUYER BEWARE!! This company is absolute trash. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM OR ASPEN AIR!! We have a maintenance package with Aspen who is owned by ARS and routinely service our a/c. Last fall one of their service technicians came to our house and cut the high pressure cut off switch on our system. No one at the company could tell us why. We asked that it be replaced even if we had to pay for it and were denied many times despite making several calls to management and having 5+ different techs out to look at what had been done. Now our system which would still be under warranty if we were the original owners has failed. They sent a sales rep (Steve Todd) out to quote a new system and when we told him about the ongoing situation he said the company was definitely at fault. That “cutting the switch is why the pressure got too high causing the coils to crack and leak coolant”. That “cutting the switch could have caused the system to explode”. He assured us the company would make things right - that we shouldn’t have to pay for new system (which they quoted us 14k for - thieves) since this is a problem they created. Steve lied to us - he left here after promising to make it right - knowing his company put our family in danger and the next day the company blocked our number. This company has NO MORALS. They are overpriced CHEATS with awful customer services who will put your family at risk and then abandon you.

I will start by saying this company is not available 24 hours. They will route you to TX, New unit installed 10/07/2020 blew hot air immediately, and a tech had to come daily. First the new 5 day old unit couldn't keep freon, then there was a leak which required new pipes. The next day the brand new ac compressor blows. They replace the 5 day old unit and wire our unit to the outside circuit breaker instead of the main inside which caused the circuit to break. The tech that came, Marcos stated he wasn't qualified and stated he would call for another tech to come immediately. The tech never came and all supervisors gave us the runaround. Please don't use this company 7 days of FL heat and no relief with this company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.!!!They came to do a Tune Up on my A/C. They did not clean the pipes as part of the Tune Up, and instead told me that I need a diagnostics ( which charged me for it) and I that I have multiple problems with my A/C that will cost me over $1,500. I called a second company, and they found out that the only problem was draining the pipes and the other problems were inexistent!!!.

The technician recommended a few additional services, including a highly overpriced storm kit unit on the condenser unit outside. Although he claimed to be offering me a discount, the prices he quoted me were 2-3 times higher than the other company I called after his estimate. The other company did the job for much less and did not install the storm kit unit, saving me over $1,000.

ARS initially failed on follow-up with me and I gave them an F rating. They understood that they had made a mistake and went out of their way to make it right. My problem was resolved and my A/C was working at last check. The service man was very sorry and did a great job. The office was understanding of my time constraints and went out of their way. I'll take my F back and give them a B overall, for making it right, only loosing points for the loss of time.

They give good service. We have had pretty good results. The reason we don't have more air conditioners from them is because we found a company that was giving us a better price on a different air conditioner later on. I would tell family and friends that we have had good results with them. We have a contract with them, so they came out and there was no charge. I would use them in the future but not to buy prices as we always compare prices.

My A/C was not cooling and I called ARS on Aug. 7. 2015. I have a yearly service contract with them. They responded promptly.

Because I had a service contract, the $80 diagnostic service fee was waived.  

The tech.'s best judgment was that I had a coolant leak that he might be able to find for an additional charge.  

He stated that the regular cost of this search/test was $281, but under service contract, it would be $252.90. 

I agreed to the test and he quickly found the leak (10 minutes)  in the outside condenser coils.  

He called me outside and showed me how his test unit beeped when he waived it over several spots in the coils.

He stated that I needed the coils replaced.

If I went ahead and scheduled the repair right then he would credit me half the cost of the test ($126.45) when the coil was installed.

He indicated that since the unit was 4 years old it was still under warranty so a new coil would be free.

He then topped off the unit with 3 lbs. of coolant R-410A in my 11 lb. system.  

He was not sure how long the unit would stay cool, although, it turned out to last at least 19 days, when they came back with the replacement coil.

The Tech. Mr. Benoit was pleasant and professional.

The kicker was the cost of the coolant. They charge $68 a pound.  

So the total for the service call was:

Service Call - 0.00

R-410A - 3lbs. - $204.00

Leak Test   -      $252.90

Total:               -   $456.90



He said he would order the coil from Trane and it would take 2 weeks to 1 month.  

I called them 17 days later for a status update, and they said the coil would be in the next day and the following day the tech. would be out.  

He had given me a quote on the 7th for the repair at:

Condenser coil             0.00

Labor                    $1,193.40

11 lbs of R-410A    $748.00

credit for leak test  -$126.74

total:                           $1,814.95



I was surprised at the cost of this coolant, as I had read that the modern coolants were not as harmful to the environment, and were also cheaper than the old R-11/R-22/etc stuff.  

I researched the cost on line and found it as low as $4.00 a pound!

Of course shipping and the time involved made purchasing it on-line prohibitive.

I located a local industrial supply store, and they had it in stock at $5.44 a pound, only available in a 25 lb. container for $136.00.  

Note the place I bought it from - just a few blocks from ARS,  only sells to a business, and I happened to have an account with them.

When ARS called to confirm the schedule I informed them of my purchase and that the tech would be using my coolant.. 

When B. Benoit and his assistant arrived I gave them my container and informed them to use it. Mr. Beniot expressed  surprise that I was able to purchase it., saying "they let you buy it?"  He proceeded to unload the replacement coil and proceeded with the installation.  

Before he installed the coolant he called the owner, for instruction on how to proceed.  

He called me aside and asked me, "Do you have an EPA license?  Did the store that sold you this tank ask to see your license?"  

I replied, no I don't have a license, and I'm not installing it, you are.

He then said, that this is not the usual brand that they use.  

I was left wondering if he meant to imply that it would be defective?

There are different manufacturers of R-410A, but the composition is the same. Vanilla ice-cream is still vanilla, no matter who makes it.  

He then informed me that the owner told him that they must add a $115.00 charge if they were to  use a customers supplied gas, and there would be no warranty on the gas.  Note: the R-410A gas was in a new & sealed container.

Having no good option at this point, I agreed to the additional charge.  The installation then proceeded.  

Total time from arrival to completion of installation 3 hours, 15 minutes.

Final Cost:

Coil:            0.00

labor $1,193.40

Fee to use my R-410A         $115.00

total:   $ 1,308.40

(don't forget I also spent $136.00 on R-410A so the real total was $1,444.40)

Note: $126.45 credit... They "forgot" to apply the credit.  I just noticed that while writing this review, thanks Angie, I will call them for a refund!

Legal Note: I followed up and researched this EPA license issue.  There is a Federal EPA law that prohibits the sale of R-11, R-22, etc. to anyone that does not have a federal certification and license and the fine is very high.  However, the new R-410A is exempt from the restriction!  Anyone can sell it and buy it. 

Bottom line: The tech's were nice and professional, they arrived promptly and worked without delay on the installation, not stopping until the job was complete.

So...I have  high marks for them, in fact all of the different tech's from the company over the past two years were just as professional.  

However, I feel that the owners pricing policy is really the pitts, I'm really on the fence as to wether I will renew my annual service contract next month @ $169.00.

Would I use them again - Angie doesn't provide a "Maybe" box, so I checked "Yes".

There are whole-home-services available for about $500 that include HVAC/Dishwasher/Washer/Dryer/Disposal/plumbing/etc. I hear they include parts and labor...must check this out....

Final note: This was unusual in that I knew weeks in advance that I would need at least 11 lbs. of R-410A, and that it is usually only available in a 25 lb. container that will cost about $140 bucks, and it can be difficult to obtain.  Any  normal repair that only uses a small amount, I would never consider buying a container.

P.S. I gave the container with the remaining 14(+/-) lbs. of R-410A to a neighbor who is a tech. with an A/C company. This is not something you would want to store.

He recommended that since the unit was 4 years old, and "summer was coming"  that I should have the optional "hard start kit" installed.  
He indicated that the price would be $364.00 labor included.  
He installed the kit in 10 minutes flat.  
I researched the usfulness of this kit on the internet, and most tech's. recommend it.
 I see that the most expensive unit  retails for $75.00.
 I am NOT complaining about the service, which was good.
But I think that this price is at the very top end of the scale, going from just outside the fair-price- range into whatever-the-market-will-bear price.

I had a tech come out to see why the compressor stopped working which it's a 2 year old unit they installed.
which 2 years ago I felt real dumb because I didn't bother to get other quotes. So i paid 6700 for a 4 ton 13 seer package unit.
Now for the quote on the repair just to see what they would do for me. They told me the compressor was under warranty But to get it replaced and to recharge the system it would be 2K. which I laughed and let the tech leave. Had a more reputable company come out and the same repair ended up being 795.

412 for dryer filter
then 68 dollar a LB for 410A refrigerant.

Techs must get commission because they also use pressure tactics like the sales reps.
Tech told me I need to decide that day if I wanted it fixed the same day because he wouldn't be working the next day. As if there wasn't any other tech in the company that could do the job.
