I called Appliance Doctor to repair some Viking appliances - what a mistake!  They were not knowledgeable and did a very poor job.  The tech they initially sent was more interested in chatting us up than in doing the work.  The work on my microwave had to be redone and the hood repair was not done right.  Save yourself a big headache - don't call this Appliance Doctor!

The machine was eventually fixed but customer service left a lot to be desired. It was quick and easy to get in touch with them initially but once they came out and charged the repair before actually completing it, getting in touch with them suddenly became impossible. There was apparently a miscommunication as to when they would be back with the part and then I spent well over a week trying to get some kind of update from them as to when I could expect the repair to happen. It wasn't until I threatened to dispute the charges on my credit card that somebody finally called me and scheduled the repair. I get that they had ordered a part and were waiting for it but not keeping the customer in the loop or answering/returning calls after you've taken their money is simply unprofessional. Though I now have a working washer, I doubt I would use them again due to the prolonged frustration I experienced from this job.

"The break in communication was due to our incoming phone lines being accidentally shut down by AT&T for an entire month. We were unaware of the situation for some time and thought we just had a slow down in business. The customer was not able to get through to us and our calls to the customer did not go through due to her teaching schedule during the day. We usually call our customers within 24 hours of receiving an ordered part. This situation took the better part of 2 weeks. We did not know the customer was trying to get in contact with us as well until we got an email from her. Many of our customers experienced this problem until we were able to resolve the issue with AT&T. Despite this not being our fault, we feel horrible about the situation and would like to extend a free service call to Ms.[member name removed] in the future."

Excellent.  Brian was on-time, professional, and nice.  He explained the problem, talked with me about how it might have happened (we narrowed it to a load that was too heavy), and gave me a clear price.  He spent a lot of time making sure that his assessment was correct, and helping me decide between repairing the machine or purchasing a new one.  In all, he spent nearly 2 hours with our machine and it was running smoothly when he left.  

Kay was also great on the phone, and helped me get a same-day appointment.

Booker was honest and knew immediately what was causing our problem. He went right to work after explaining what he had discovered and what must be done. We were having a dog training session at the same time, and he was very curteous about warning us when he would have to cause a loud noise which might startle the dogs. He was professional but affable. I would hire him again and again and again.

The service rep responded to my call in 45 minutes. He immediately assessed the problem and corrected it. My water bill was $20.00 higher than normal this time because I had trouble getting the water in the tub to stay. The water would run and run and run, but not fill up enough to begin agitation. But once in a while it would work so I was confused. He figured it out, lifted the hose and it began to fill and hold water. It took about 10 minutes for him to figure this out. Since he was there I asked him to look at my gas stove burners that would hardly light. He took out a wire from his toolbox and cleaned out the stuck burners. They now work like a charm. He only charged me for the service call because the whole thing took less than 1/2 hr.

They had to unravel & repair a mess left by another company. They researched (it took a lot) and repaired my dryer and washing machine. It was necessary for them to come to my house many times but they did not charge me each time. Amazingly, they were interested in solving my problem and they did so. Each time they arrived on time, were clean & tidy, and made follow up phone calls so I could know what was going on. They even loaned me a dryer while waiting for my parts to come in. It was a very lucky day I called that company - thanks to Angie's List.

Kenneth did a FANTASTIC job. When I first called him, he declined the job since we are in Miami Springs and this is pretty far for him. But when he heard that I had found him through Angie's List, he happily agreed to come. He had to come back a total of 3 times because the dryer kept burning out the thermostat. It was a real mystery to him, but he assured me he would not leave me hanging and wouldn't stop till the dryer was functioning properly. After he had eventually replaced most of the parts in my dryer, he decided to look at the washer out of frustration. He found out the culprit was the washer (not spinning the clothes dry enough) and fixed that for me, too. All of this and he never charged me any additional money!What a pleasure to deal with someone who provides such excellent service......I highly recommend this company!!
