"To Who It May Concern, I am Joe Hernandez, owner of and operator of AKG Inspection Services Inc. I am also the State Licensed Roofing Contractor, (CCC#042809) and Florida State Home Inspector (AC#5603480-H14444). I’m attaching the report of my findings done on behalf of Citizens Insurance Company, a Florida State Carrier. I am totally against all accusations by the member on April 8, 2007. My inspection on behalf of Citizens was to determine what damages where Hurricane Wilma visible and related only on October 24, 2005. As shown on my attached report, the member's roof does show roof to be in poor condition at the time and has out lived its life expectancy by 3 to 5 years. Please see attached report; the member's roof was in poor condition and showing lots of deteriation due to overall age and lack of maintenance. I was hired and have done thousands of inspections for Insurance Carriers and have an A rating with them for my knowledge and honesty. The member with my help and after 1 ½ years, got her roof paid under Law and Ordinance not wind, as I said on my original report. I am appalled that AKG Inspection Services, Inc. will be rated because we did put in our report what they wanted to see so the Insurance Carrier could buy her a new roof. AKG Inspection Services still is an expert witness in hundreds of cases, including trial and we are highly respected in the industry by opposing counsel and all major carriers. We must be totally unbiased in all our findings and give our professional opinion regardless of what the outcome may be between Carrier and the plaintiff. The member also never proved from any Licensed Contractor nor expert like ourselves and reports proving my findings different nor incorrect, being that all of our information was also backed up by the Dade County Building Department Record, showing the age of the roof in our later date permit history search. We will not accept that this “F” rating is given just because we don’t put in writing what a homeowner wants to see. "To Whom It May Concern, AKG Inspection Services was not aware of complaint sent to Angie’s List on August 14th, 2006. We have done 4 previous repairs for Member and with the same crew from AKG Roofing, in which all repairs were done in a good workman-like manner. However approximately 3 days later, after completion of repairs, Member contacted our office claiming that she was missing lots of avocado fruits from her tree in the backyard. I, Joe Hernandez, personally went out to the property and questioned all 3 of my men, which are still employed today on June 23, 2011, and they were highly upset of the accusations made against them by Member. Our men have never been accused of such nor will they risk their jobs for over $16.00 per hour to $21.00 over a couple of dollars of fruits. Member never saw my men doing such nor we had the ladders she is claiming on her house. Her house is a single story property and we were using an 8ft ladder to reach roof. In order to get up the tree, you would have had to access her backyard and either had a 28ft to 32ft extension ladder or special a long pole with a net used by men that take them off trees so the fruit doesn’t get bruises. Member never saw my men doing such a crime of trespassing and stealing fruits not any of her neighbors seen such. We even went to her house with our men to face her in person to discuss the issues. We thought this was put behind us and she paid us the roof repair. This could have been done by a young man or a trespasser. Our men are 36 plus years old and have no need to put themselves in this position or lose their jobs over $4-$5 worth of fruits. We would like this removed from our records being that this is her say and no witness nor proof of our men doing so, even though Member was home during our roof repair and completion. Please be advised that the property address listed for Member not the property in which the repairs were completed. That address is for the University of Miami Hospital.
