Bottom line - it went horribly.
I purchased the hardwood floors and paid 50% downpayment on credit card. According to the contract, the remaining 50% was due upon completion of the installation. We were set to move into the home in 8 weeks and Abe's Flooring said that they would be able to easily complete the job prior to the move in date.
As we approached the move-in date, I still had not heard anything from Abe's Flooring regarding scheduling an installation time. So, I started contacting Abe's by both email and phone. None of my messages were answered for over a week. When I finally got a hold of them, they told me that they were working on another bigger job and would not be able to start my project for several more weeks. They could not provide me an exact date.
After more pushing on my part, they finally scheduled a date for the installation. After the first day of installation, I went to the house to view the work. First of all, I discovered that they were not leveling the floor prior to installing the wood. The installer claimed that it was not necessary and he would just use more glue on the non-level parts. Then, even worse, I noticed that they were installing the wrong wood.
I contacted Abe about the incorrect wood being used and his first argument was that I was wrong. After I provided the paperwork showing the actual wood that I contracted, he changed his story and said that the original wood that I paid for was on backorder, but that this new wood was "better." I told him I wanted my original wood and he said that I would, then, have to pay for the wood that his installer had already placed on the floor.
At this point, I tried to cancel the job but Abe said that he would charge me for all the wood (the incorrect wood) that he ordered. The wood would come out of the 50% deposit he already taken from me. During the next few days as I was arguing this point with Abe, I discovered that my credit card had been charged for the second 50% installment (the remainder of the total job). I contacted the credit card company and filed a complaint stating that Abe's Flooring had not completed the job and I had not authorized this payment. However, the credit card company was able to do very little because it was a service job. They could only return the payment if, and only if, Abe refused to complete the job. But Abe told the credit card company that he was more than willing to complete the job with the wood that he had already purchased. And Abe agreed to a minor discount in order to complete the job with what he now admitted was the incorrect wood.
In the end, the workmanship was terrible. I have had many issues with loose floorboards due to them not leveling the floor prior to installation. And we did not get a wood flooring that we originally chose.
There is no way I can stress how poor my experience with this company was. And I warn, in the strongest terms, to avoid using them.

Purchase of laminate flooring. Party doing installation did a great job. Signed a contract on 6/1/09 and paid 1/2. Salesman advised on 6/25/09 that material was in and would install 6/27. Received call from salesman 6/27/09 that material sent was wrong flooring. Would re-order and install following week. Called Salesman 7/1/09 to confirm installation on Thursday 7/2/09 - no one showed up - called at 10:30. Bookkeeper answered phone advised salesman with customer. Called back at 11:00 - advised salesman gone to warehouse. Calls back and forth between bookkeeper and a lady that Scott was out - stepped out for coffee - at warehouse with customer. Finally Bookkeeper called me back and advised that Installation Manager advised material not in. During this time, Salesman never called me back. Owner also was not very helpful in letting me know when material would arrive and when would be installed. Got the run-a-around from 7/2/09 until 7/4/09. Finally installer called to advise would install July 6. Salesman was very unresponsive to my order and installation.

This company is incredible. They came exactly as agreed. I was impressed with their honesty and straight talk. This is a 5-star company.

THEY CAME AND STARTED THE JOB AND THEN PICKED UP AND LEFT. I CALLED THE BOSS AND TOLD HIM THE JOB WAS NOT FINISHED. HE TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE BACK THE NEXT DAY. THE PRICE IS HIGH FOR A JOB THAT DID NOT GET FINISHED.

I LIKE THE WAY THE NEW FLOORS LOOK. THE MANAGER WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL BUT THE CLERK AT THE STORE WAS NOT. THEY DID SHOW UP FIFTEEN MINUTES EARLY TO DO THE WORK. THEY MADE SURE THAT EVERY THING WAS CLEANED UP BEFORE THEY LEFT.

WHEN I WAS THERE, THEY GAVE ME UNDIVIDED ATTENTION. I WASN'T GOING TO DO TWO ROOMS, BUT THEY HAD SOME EXTRA CARPET AND I GOT A DISCOUNT. THEY WERE EXTREMELY CAREFUL, CAUTIOUS AND CONSIDERATE TO ME AND MY HOUSE.

THE WORKERS ARRIVED ON TIME AND BROUGHT THE CORRECT SUPPLIES. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH MY FURNITURE BEFORE AND AFTER THE INSTALLATION. THEY MADE SURE THAT MY HOUSE WAS FREE OF ALL DEBRIS PRIOR TO LEAVING.
