A AMERICAN SEPTIC & PLUMBING

The night we contacted A American Septic, our shower wouldn't drain and upon flushing the toilet at the same time, we had an overflow situation, prompting a late-night call to A American Septic. Since it was well after 8:00pm at night, I thought at best we'd get an answering service, but instead was pleasantly surprised that the company's owner, William Woodard actually answered the phone and promised to have someone at the house the next day, even though they had a number of appointments on schedule The following morning, William let us know that a crew would be by between 2:00-3:00pm, but that if he could get them there earlier he would.. A around 11:30am William called to let us know an appointment had cancelled and the crew would be there around noon intstead. According to Mark, the supervisor, the tank was dangerously close to compromising the drain field, but that we had caught it in good time. David, the job technician did a phenomenal job from start to finish and gave us some excellent advice on preventing issues in the future. All, in all, a really great experience, super customer service and a definite will hire again in the future to perform regular maintenance as well as address any other issues that arise.

It was excellent. They spoke both English and Spanish. They needed to dig up the septic system in our yard, which they did. They cleaned up everything. They were very professional, very nice people. They offered us 3 or 4 options. They also gave me a discount.

Excellent! This project was extremely time- sensitive and the septic tank location was not known. The 1937 house had to be demolished after it was all but shredded by scrap metal thieves who had stolen all of the metal, including all of the electrical wiring and all of the plumbing. As a result, there weren't even plumbing lines to follow in order to find the drain-field or the septic tank. The company's office staff was extremely responsive and pleasant, and the owner himself met me at the site nearly immediately. The project (including the necessary state inspection) was completed exactly on time --even given my very tight timeline.

In the end, I am happy with my choice of A American for my septic tank and drainfield, even though there were times along the way when I was unhappy. They did very good work, at a good price. The health department inspector said it was a quality job. My reservations were all regarding communication. The on-site guys were nice and answered questions but never checked in with me. I was working away from home and would have appreciated updates (btw, it was not a language barrier; we are all English-speaking). The dispatcher is a bit gruff but she always got my questions answered for me, and returned my calls. Prior to the start, the owner came to my home to discuss the job with me. He was great. But I later realized that none of our discussion (about renting a smaller backhoe, avoiding my neighbor's bougainvillea) was communicated back to the people who did the work.
