I found a picture of a Pergola online while looking for inspirational idea for my backyard, it just so happened that the picture I found was posted on Venetian Builders' website. I called them up, asked a bunch of questions about various options etc.. and they asked me a bunch of questions about my house, yard, plans, budget, etc... Once they had the information they needed, the woman on the phone even verified that the project I wanted to build would be allowed under the zoning of my house. I was given an appointment with Matt, one of their designers, the following week, since she told me they were super buys from the recent home show.
Matt came out to our house, was polite and professional, and we got a complete plan put together, he even drew the project while he was here. I agreed that his plan what what we wanted, so we decided to go ahead on the spot and get the project started. Now, I did not expect quite so much paperwork, but once that was all done, Matt told us it would be a month or two to get the plans and permit approved by the city.
The plans took a while to get approved, but once they were, Rob, who is Venetians Engineer, came out and took all of the measurements they needed to build the job. Another 2 weeks went by and then they called to schedule the installation.
Our installer, Omar, was amazing. The process had been a little frustrating up to this point as there was a lot of waiting, but once Omar and his helper (His brother) show up, things really started to move quickly. The project was all pre-cut when they dropped it off, so it was basically like watching a puzzle come together. Omar was super polite the entire time and worked 10 hours a day to get the whole project up and done in 3 days!! Once the work was all completed, their manager, Augusto came out and inspected it with me to be sure I was happy with everything, there were a couple of little things that he noticed that I hadnt, so he fixed them on the spot.
These guys are really great, my Pergola is beautiful and I am thrilled to have it in my backyard.
My pool deck had been looking pretty shabby for about the last 5 years, Hurricane Wilma had been so kind as to remove my old screen enclosure, then the spray deck texture around my pool started to chip up as it was quite old, it was about this time that I decided it was time to renovate.
I began my search online, found Venetian Builders through their own website, saw them in the Home Mag, plus Angies List so I figured they must be a pretty legitimate company as they seemed to be everywhere. I called in and was scheduled for an appointment 3 days later.
The guy who came out to my house was remarkably knowledable, His first name was Matt, cant remember the last, anyway, we sat together for a couple of hours and came up with a design plan that entailed installing marble pavers over my concrete pool deck, changing out the pool coping, changing the waterline tile around the pool, chipping out and re-installing the diamond brite pool finish, and last but not least, installing a new screen enclosure over the whole pool deck.
The price was a little more (20%) than some of the other people I had already spoken to, but since this was a one stop shop, and the company has a great reputation, I decided to go for it.
About a month after I first met with Matt, the office staff at Venetian got a hold of me and let me know they were ready to begin work on the pool and patio renovation portion of my project. They started with demolition (of course) and had the deck clean, pool drained, and all old tile out of there in a day or two, the guy managing their team seemed very friendly and knew what he was doing.
A week went by and then a seperate team came out to start work on the pool, this took about a week to complete between the diamond brite, tile, and new coping. I didnt like the way some of the tile had been installed and when I mentioned it to the manager, he said no problem, and chipped it right out and reinstalled, I was really impressed with this willingness to go and do something over. The pool renovation wrapped up with the decking being installed, it all looks wonderful and was definitely worth the spend.
About 2 weeks after the pool and patio work was done, the company called and said my screen enclosure was done being cut and was now ready for installation, I gave them the go ahead to begin and two days later, this huge aluminum structure began arriving. Their team was really hard working and had the bulk of the structure built within a week, this is a huge enclosure so I was impressed with the length of time they were able to get it done in. All in all, 2 weeks from start to finish.
I love my new patio and screen, it feels like I am on vacation every time I am out there. In summation, these guys are not the cheapest in town, but their work is solid, and I know from experience, if there is a problem, they jump to resolve it.
order. They promised to file for the permit in a timely manner. They called a few weeks later asking for some paperwork. I did not hear from them again until the week
before Thanksgiving when they wanted to start pouring footers. Permitting took about 3 months, which I thought a bit long. They poured the footers the week after Thanksgiving, leaving an electric wire coming out of the concrete and tearing up my sprinkler system.
They promised to fix both.
Apparently, the sales rep had been fired, and the order for the enclosure had not been sent to the manufacturer. Someone re-measured in December, then placed the order, but told me that the manufacturer wouldn?t work across the Holiday break, so it would be January before they would be back. I called in mid-January and was told they were on a really big job, so it would be a couple of weeks before they could even start on the delivery. I called again at the end of January/beginning of February and told them that if the job was not started the next Monday, I wanted my money back (at that point, about $8,500). They delivered the job on the
next Monday, and had one or two people a day there for the rest of the week. They didn?t really start the job until late February, and they completed the job last week.
They left nails and small, sharp metal scraps in my pool and patio. The job required them to replace gutters, but on one section, they replaced about 18 inches with a dark brown gutter, leaving about 20 feet of the old white gutter. It looks amateurish. When I called to tell
them the replacement wasn?t satisfactory, they told me this is the industry standard and they were losing money because the guy they fired misquoted the price. We would have to pay $800 more to replace the remaining old white gutter. If you decide to use them, just make sure you know what they plan to do with your gutters. It?s now mid-March, the enclosure was completed last week, the new gutters leak in the corners, one door lock is not functioning, and problems with the electrical wire coming out of the concrete and the sprinkler system have yet to be fixed.
After we filled out the contract and permit paperwork, the city took a while to issue my permit, during this time, I was kept informed every week or two by the staff at Venetian, which I thought was a really nice touch.
Once the permit was approved, their concrete guy, Ciro, and his team came out to install the concrete slab. This was a much bigger project than I expected as they had to remove my old pool decking, then start fresh with a new slab due to the new building codes or something along those lines. The concrete did make a mess, but not more than what I would expect for all the work that had to be done. Throughout the process Ciro was at my house supervising and making sure things were going well.
The concrete slab was poured, then they came back out to take measurements and get ready to build the enclosure. My builder was Pedro and boy am I glad it was. This guy and his team worked liked crazy from 8am to 5pm every day until the who enclosure was standing in only 5 days. It was really impressive to see them work and put up this huge piece of aluminum. Once it was all said and done, they called for final inspection, which was failed due to some electrical wire having to be connected between the enclosure and the pool equipment, but once that was done, it passed and the project was over.
I have worked with many contractors in the past, and although Venetian took a little longer than I expected to get my project done, I am happy with the choice I made and could not be more thrilled with the finished product, my pool deck is now completely bug and leave free!!
"Thanks so much for all of your kind words. We always strive for an A rating and I am glad to see we earned it. Chris Noe Pres. Venetian Builders Inc."
"We did in fact have issues on this job. A part of the scope of work was to cut off a soffit overhang to allow for additional height on the project. While we were working on this, there was a huge and unexpected rainstorm. We did not expect any water to get into the home as the roof was intact and the part we cut left only a vertical opening. The homeowners claimed there was water damaged inside the home, we inspected but didnt see anything other than some old vinyl type flooring which appeared to either have been water damaged or dried out due to age. As we always would, we offered to repair the "Damage" but that was refused as the property owners had "several" open insurance claims, which they would add this to. In an effort to repairs relations, we performed over $1500.00 in additional work at no cost, which in our opinion, well exceeded any damage to flooring. We made a mistake and got caught by the weather, but at the end of the day, we tried our best to make it right, and as stated in the review, built a wonderful project. Chris Noe Pres. Venetian Builders."
"Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to leave us such a nice review. I will be sharing this with all involved so they can see the results of their hard work. It was a pleasure working with you and we all hope you enjoy your new patio for many years to come. Chris Noe Pres. Venetian Builders Inc."
Took a while but was worth the wait.
Excellent workmanship and a beautiful addition to the house

"[Member Name Removed] it was a true pleasure working with you. I love your cat palace patio and am glad you are so pleased with my company and our team. Chris Pres. Venetian Builders."
The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was I though the price was a little high and the permitting process a little long, but our huge new decorative alumawood patio is spectacular!
The process of working with them is really nice, everyone kept in touch with me on a weekly basis. I knew what was happening the entire time. As I mentioned above, the permit ok a while and they were not the cheapest company, but I wanted a customized pergola style patio roof and I knew these guys would do the best job.
I love my new Sunroom!
From the very first call, Venetian Builders was on top of my project. Martha answered the phone, have me all of the details I was looking for in order to determine whether this was a feasible project for me and set me up to meet with Brian for an estimate about 3 days later.
Brian showed up on time, was more than polite and accommodating and he and I came up with a wonderful design plan for my new space, which involved enclosing my existing covered roof with impact glass walls in order to convert the patio space into a part of my living room, this addition adds 480sf to my home! Basically a new living room.
Brian let me know he would be handing my project off to Michelle in their production department. Michelle spoke with me about 3 weeks later after they had completed the documents needed to apply for a building permit, she let me know that they would be submitting my permit to the city and that the process could take a long as a month to be approved, which seemed like a long time but only actually ended up being a 3 week deal.
Once the permit was approved, their project manager, Augusto, came out and explained the next steps to me, his concrete guy came out and poured concrete to make the patio space level, which took about 1 week start to finish.
My builder was Peter and although he seemed a little gruff at first, he and his helper put together a spectacular project, he even dealt with every question I had with a smile.
At the end of the day, it was a long, expensive, but pleasant process and the people at Venetian were a pleasure to deal with, I wouldn't hesitate for one second to recommend them.

Behind the scenes, Venetian's engineers "did whatever they do" and pulled the permits from the city.
When it was time to begin work, Rob S. came by to take some measurements and get a feel for the job. Throughout the process, Rob was amazing! He is extremely precise and everything came out great. The room is beautiful, sturdy and well built. The inspector had no problems approving the work.
Whenever someone comes by my house, they complement about how nice the room is. My neighbor said, "That's a great addition." Another friend said, "Wow, that's impressive." I say, "I love it!"
"Wow [Removed Member Name]!!! Thanks so much for your glowing review. My team really enjoyed working with you and appreciated your easy going style throughout the process. I am going to print this one out and post it on our board so that everyone knows what a great job Rob did for you as well. Dont hesitate to call us should you need anything more. Chris Noe Pres. Venetian Builders Inc."
"Wow! Thanks again for choosing us to build your new Sunroom, I know that project is a work of art and that Rob really took his time when it came to the details. I appreciate your having been such a pleasant person to work with and understanding of permitting delays! If we can ever be of assistance, dont hesitate to call. Chris Noe Pres. Venetian Builders Inc."
The permit took a while to get approved, which was worrying but the staff at Venetian Builders kept us up to date the entire time, which made the waiting better. Once the guys showed up to build the room, it flew together, took 4 days total and look wonderful.
These guys are the best don't hesitate to build with them.
"Thanks for your kind words and for taking the time to review us! I know you will enjoy your new patio roof for years to come, it is a great looking project and one that we will certainly use for our portfolio of past work. Chris Noe Pres. Venetian Builders Inc."
"Thanks so much for your great review. We strive to get all A's and I am very glad to see we have done it. Chris Pres. Venetian Builders Inc."
Just had a sunroom built by Venetian Builders. I found them on Angies List and liked their reviews so we gave them a call. I spoke with a young lady on the phone who scheduled an estimate appointment for me, they even accommodated my work schedule and set the appointment for a Saturday.
Brian was the next person I spoke to, he called when he was on his way to our home Saturday morning. He arrived, asked what we were looking to build, apparently he listened carefully as his sketch of the room was exactly what we were looking for.
We thought about it for a week and although we had received a bid for around 3,000 less from another company, decided to go with Venetian as we thought their version of the room was the most attractive.
Brian was scheduled to come back out to fill out all of the paperwork, and there was a bunch of paperwork indeed, but he was very efficient and explained the process carefully and was patient with the 500 questions we had along the way.
After all of the paperwork was completed, we heard from their general manager (Michelle) who let us know the permit had been submitted and they were waiting on an approval. Another 4 weeks passed and the city has signed off so they called to schedule the project to begin. Michelle gave us a call to let us know that Robert had been assigned to build our sunroom as he is their specialist in glass enclosures and needed to set a time to meet with us and review the project before they fabricated the room.
Robert scheduled with us again on a Saturday, arrived and reviewed the contract and permit information and spent around 3 hours taking measurements and leveling things, then let us know he was going to build the walls of the room in the factory, then return when he had them assembled and ready to install. We waited for a week and Rob called to set an appointment to begin his installation.
Once these guys arrived to begin work, they really moved. The walls were mostly built when they arrived at our home, Rob and his helper had the framing of the room done in 3 days, then had the roof up on day 5, they worked in a relatively clean manner and were both very polite and easy to deal with, even with some questions thrown in here and there.
Once the room was standing, Rob let us know they needed to order the glass and that would take 3 weeks to arrive. He said he would call once the glass was in their factory to schedule a date to come and finish our new room.
The glass arrived 2 weeks later, Rob called, we let him know he could start anytime and he had the glass installed before the weekend and final building department inspection scheduled and passed the following week.
Although we could have asked for a little more communication over the length of the project, we felt the Venetian staff were very competent and happy to be working for us. The room is great and we couldn't find anything to complain about when it comes to quality as our finished sunroom is beautiful.
I would definitely recommend Venetian to anyone that asks as we thought this process was really going to be painful but it turned out to be a piece of cake. Nice work guys.
"Thanks so much for you kind words [removed member name], We really enjoyed building your room and think it is a really beautiful addition to your home.
