Pricing Van Lines: State to State Moving Companies

I would not recommend this company. Used them for out-of-state move. They're a broker. A long process of repeated over-promising and under-delivering. $3900 quote for a $4400 move that was so poorly executed that the losses and damages amount to about $8000. They matched me with Atlantic Group out of FL (do anything you can to stay away from them too). Was promised 3 movers and a 3-5 day turnaround. Got 2 movers on arrival (24 hour delay) and one mover on delivery (hours later two local guys arrived to help unload). My stuff arrived a month later (21 business days later) with two stolen bikes and most of my furniture damaged and the majority of my boxed items damaged as well. Was offered nothing except a shrug and an opportunity to file a claim through their insurance company (Atlantic wasn't answering or returning calls) Made a stressful situation even worse and I do not recommend at all.

I was most impressed by their careful attention to detail. Each box was clearly labeled, so when it came time to unpack, I knew precisely where everything was. They also went out of their way to make sure I paid attention to everything at home and that it made it to its destination safely.

I've never been happier with moving services more than this. John, with the crew he led, came over on time and nailed my relocation like no other. I wanna pay my gratitude to the whole firm of Pricing Van Lines for making my life much easier.

I have a lot of valuable unique art, and the movers handled it with care. They appeared on time, were properly dressed and brought along all the complimentary packing materials. I highly urge you all to use them in future!!

The relocation would not have been as smooth if Mike and Jack from Pricing Van Lines had not helped. Thanks to their efforts, everything remained secure and in working condition. Mike completed all of his tasks quickly and cheerfully.

The men were very friendly and helpful with our stuff. Thanks to the boys meticulous wrapping, all of the furniture was in perfect condition when we relocated out of state. Yes, that is something I would advise.

Despite the fact that relocating is a serious affair, these movers made it appear easy. Even my king-sized mattress and my dated, sagging sofa were handled with the utmost care. Even helping me pack up my variety of shoes was something they did outstandingly. These guys are top-notch.

I had a great time interacting with Melvin and Ronnie. They were extremely careful with my bedroom furnishings, carefully wrapping each item. My four-poster bed and accompanying cabinet are still in excellent condition because of their attention to detail.

They were great! They did the job quickly and safely, with no issues. Nothing was broken or misplaced, and they were very responsive to our directions. Will definitely hire this team again!

The Pricing Van Lines crew did such a great job moving my large sectional sofa. Without them, I couldn't have accomplished it.

This company is a broker not a moving company. They will tell you that it will take a few days or a week to get your stuff moved and then weeks later you will be told that the fine print gives them 21 working days to deliver. They will not do a site inspection and as a result their estimate is way off. It will cost you TWICE what they estimate. Save yourself the hassle and just hire a U-Haul and a few people to help from craigslist: that is what the moving company they send will do anyone.

The first time we hired movers we were apprehensive but well prepared following that move. you may use the same moving team to assist us.

Do NOT EVER use this company! They contract out to an actual moving company. They are liars and thieves. They broke their contact, broke my items and refuse to make it right. Worst experience ever and I am out thousands of dollars.

PVL is up-front in stating they are a broker, and that your contract is with other companies they identify and line up. The experience can be highly variable, though, because you are ultimately at the mercy of whoever those other companies are. Our experience was just terrible. It was expensive, and we feel like we were ripped off. I guess people who don't move often get pulled into this kind of thing because of lack of experience. If I move again, I'll never do it this way! They don't tell you until you get deep into the process that it could take up to 31 BUSINESS days to get your stuff delivered for a long-distance move. We were lucky, I guess. We only waited 15 business days (3 full weeks). The pick-up and delivery crews are hired locally by the foremen. Our pick-up team was so-so. Although they disassembled the furniture, they left key pieces of hardware behind that I luckily identified and brought with me to completely reassemble the bed and the projection screen. They did a poor job of packing the screen, by the way. I specifically wanted them to do it because I thought they'd do a better job. Not so: It was hardly wrapped with cardboard and was damaged in transit and will have to be replaced. (Note that unless you buy moving insurance well in advance of the move, you'll have only two options for coverage from the movers. The standard only pays 60 cents per pound of whatever gets damaged. Not much help.) The delivery team, though, was a mess. The foreman is supposed to call 1 to 2 days in advance to advise of arrival. He called us at lunch on Saturday for a next day (Sunday) delivery in the early afternoon. He called late the next day and said he was running late and wanted to push to the next day, but we had already taken down our air mattresses and needed the furniture. By the way, you pay 1/3 when you book, 1/3 at pick-up and 1/3 at delivery. The last payment (on-site at time of delivery) has to be in cash or cashier's check. The foreman called just before the banks closed on Saturday, so we had to do cash. The balance due was over $4,000 - a lot of cash, which we already had mostly on-hand but had to withdraw an additional $1500 from an ATM. The foreman complained we were paying in cash and not cashier's check, then I reminded him he gave us little option to do otherwise. I found out by talking with the foreman that he rented the truck he used and made a haul from San Francisco across the country, picking up and delivering these loads. I guess he was independent, and perhaps the moving company sub-contracted him. He was very clear that he was not going to do anything that would cost him extra money, and it showed in how cheap he was in managing the job. He wouldn't haul away the packing material they had used to pack our stuff. (We knew we'd have to haul away our own cardboard later, but not all the stuff they used.) To his credit (and he made sure I knew it) the foreman didn't upcharge me for stairs or having to take things down a hill. The crew he hired were young local men, some of whom knew each other, that appeared to do this kind of work as pick-up jobs to make side money. They arrived in a few of their personal vehicles, reeking of weed. Halfway through the job, they started complaining about the rain and the size of the job and threatened to walk off the job unless the foreman paid them more. He finally did, they had another weed break, and eventually everything was off the truck. I also ended up tipping the workers halfway through the job to engender goodwill and help keep them at it. PVL charges by the square foot. We had a three-bedroom home to move, with tools and such. It was a big haul over 1500 miles, and it cost us over $14,000 total. I feel for that kind of money, the experience should have been better. it was stressful and the delivery was filled with anxiety and tension, wondering if our stuff would make it inside the house at all. (At one point, the workers were threating to just leave it all on the porch as "the best we can do.") There are some positives: The people at PVL are nice, and they DO answer the phone. I'm not faulting them as much as I am the model. It's outdated and there are better ones, like moving pods, which I wish I had done instead. I have not yet come back to the actual moving company with my damaged items list. When I do, I'll be giving them a full accounting of their failure to meet what I think are reasonable expectations for this kind of service.

BEWARE AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! This is not a moving company. They contract you with a local third party vendor who could be anybody. This company lied about costs, had hidden costs, and did not pay for damages (and lost boxes) upon delivery. I have never seen such an unprofessional and immoral company before and highly DO NOT recommend you use them. Save yourselves the misery and go with an actual moving company who is upstanding and honest.

DO NOT USE I have-not received my property which was picked up on 5/26/21, they are pros at giving you the run around, no answer to where my property is, when it will be delivered. I have reported them to Fla state attorney general, US Dept of transportation, FMSCA, BBB, Fla consumer affairs

It did not. I paid a deposit on my quote of $2869 and waited for them to confirm the move. On the day they arrived, it was in a straight truck with crooked lettering saying: "Success Moving" on the door. The leader of the group wanted to take pictures of the stuff I had packed and ready to go. He then had to go and speak to his "Supervisor." When he next talked to me, he tried to tell me that my load was much larger than the estimate. Untrue, there may have been a couple of extra, small boxes. I was told the new price would be $3189. I wasn't happy, but I said OK. Then he proceeded to tell me that my total cost would be in excess of $4800!!! That is just unethical and I will call it like it is and say that they are thieves! Do NOT use this service. They contract with anyone and are not ethical.
