I contacted this provider via Angie's List- the ratings/reviews were AWESOME, and I was not disappointed. I had several communications with Jeff Zerrer. I emailed him with a few questions, he responded to me within 5 minutes of the first email being sent!! That is incredible. We continued to email back and forth throughout the day, with each one of my inquiries was responded to quickly and professionally. Though we (my wife and I) had a circumstance that prevented us from moving forward with a mortgage at this particular time, I would urge ANYONE considering a new mortgage (or a refinance) to contact him!!! This company really is fantastic! I can't say enough good things about Continental Mortgage, but let me list a few. First and foremost it's their attention to customer service. I needed a HARP loan because my home loan was underwater. They instructed me how to determine if my loan was owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Then they gave me a free pre-approval letter the same day that I provided them with the requested information.From my very first phone call, they were courteous and informative. They took the time to educate me about my options and the whole mortgage process. I started the process by calling my bank. Not only were my banks' rates higher, they were also slower to respond my calls and emails. After dealing with my bank for more than two weeks I realized I preferred Continental. Every step of the way I was kept informed of the loan progress and given periodic updates regarding the closing date. Jeff was available nights and weekends with any question or issue that arose. I really enjoyed working with them and they actually lowered the closing costs from their original quote. I highly recommend Continental Mortgage to all Angie's List members and I have already recommended them to my brother and several co-workers. Two thumbs up!!! Thanks again to Jeff and Alex for a great job. You really and truly were a pleasure to work with.

Wow! What an experience. Seeing mortgage rates drop so much, my wife and I decided it was time to do something about it. Our mortgage rate at the time was 5.625%. After reviewing previous reviews in ANGIE'S LIST, the one that stood out the most was Continental Mortgage. I followed up with some research with the BBB and they were listed as BBB Accredited with an rating of A+. I decided to give them a call and spoke with Jeff Zerrer. What a first impression! He was very polite and very knowledgeable!! Mind you, this is a time when many people are refinancing, but Jeff took a lot of time to answer all my questions and told me a lot of things I didn't know. He disclosed all fees that would be involved, took the time to email all documents for my review. He even found a mortgage company that gave a huge lender credit so that our out of pocket expenses were minimal. After deciding everything seem good, he gave me an estimated interest rate of 3.625%!! That was a great reduction for my wife and I. We decided to go through the refinance process. Any time we had a question, Jeff would take the time to answer them. Once all the paperwork went through and approved, it didn't take long to get a closing date. We didn't know which title company to use for the closing, so Jeff recommended one for us. ********************Here is the best part --- about 1 week before the closing, Jeff happily told us we will be getting an interest rate of 3.25%!!!! That's a difference of 3/8's of a point difference from the initial estimate. We were ecstatic and appreciative that he found us the best rate. Way to go Jeff and special mention to his partner Alejandro Castro. The closing went fine and my wife and I were very pleased with the whole process. Here's the main question though. Would we recommend Jeff and his team from Continental Mortgage and ever do business with them again. ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Researched Angie's list for a mortgage broker recommendation and came across Continental Mortgage as one of the top ranked providers. I contacted their office via email and received an immediate response. Jeff and his team were very professional and navigated the overall process very efficiently. We were so happy with the service we received that Jeff is now overseeing the re-fi of one of our investment properties. On top of the spectacular service we received from Jeff and his staff we were pleasantly surprised to find that our initial quoted interest rate was lowered a full 1/4 of a percent. So on top of great service and reasonable fees we secured a phenomenal 30 yr. fixed rate from Jeff. It doesn't get any better than that! Do yourself a favor and give Continental a call.

Jeff Zerrer at Contintal Mortgage was a consummate professional and an overall nice guy. It was an absolute pleasure working with him. He was ALWAYS available for any questions I had, and I had a lot, whether it be by e-mail or phone, and he was extremely patient with me. I felt like I was his only client. Mind you, this was only a refinance on a small home loan, not some million dollar home mortgage! It didn't seem to matter. I felt like an important, vital client at all times and like my needs and concerns genuinely mattered. This is rare in today's business world and I sincerely appreciated it. As I live in Tallahassee and this company is based out of Miami, I was a little uncertain as to how the closing would all play out but, no worries. Jeff found a company locally which performed all the necessary last minute paperwork, putting together of all the files and we closed exactly when planned and everything came together like clockwork. Cudos Continental I had a negative experience years ago [with a company in Colorado] when refinancing another home where when I went to closing my PITI had gone up $200/month. This was a direct contradiction to all the disclosures previously and after discussing this with the mortgage person and being unable to come to a resolution at that time, I walked out the door. Needless to say, though I was always a little nervous that something like this would happen with Continental, it never did. All disclosures were straightforward, right-on and exactly what they ended up being at closing. I actually ended up with MORE cash back at closing than anticipated which was a pleasant surprise.

Wow! These guys really are great! I don’t usually write reviews but I am so impressed with Continental Mortgage that I had to share my experience. I started the process by calling Bank of America and Wells Fargo (my bank). After dealing with them for a few days I realized I did not want to move forward with either bank so I decided to contact Jeff from Continental after a coworker raved about them. From the start, it was like night and day compared to my experience with the big banks. They responded quickly to my questions and quoted a rate of 3.875% and immediately determined that I qualified for a HARP loan even though I have negative equity in my home. They provided detailed status updates during the underwriting process and everything was done smoothly and efficiently. A week before closing they actually lowered my rate to 3.75% without me even asking! It has been so rare in my experience to have a company actually charge me less than they had quoted that I was compelled to write this review to express my gratitude. These guys really are fantastic. Jeff Zerrer, the owner, was our point of contact for the entire transaction. He explained everything in great detail and was extremely knowledgeable about the entire process and what our expectations should be. In the end, he ended up saving us quite a bit of money through an even lower interest rate than we anticipated and a lender credit. I would highly recommend Continental Mortgage and would definitely use their services again.

I contacted over 20 mortgage companies when shopping for a loan for a home purchase, both local and internet based, before going with Continental. Jeff and his processor Alex are very knowledgeable and efficient and they are not a fly-by-night .com with a body shop of monkeys trying to meet a quota. I had some unique circumstances that required a good bit of knowledge and patience to ensure I got the best loan. I kept reading reviews of other brokers who would drop the ball once they had a commitment from somebody; and wait until the last minute just days until closing to ask for important documentation. While this can sometimes be caused by the lenders themselves, often times it can be avoided if your broker is thorough and looks out for your interest and knows which lender to shop your loan out to. There was a problem over a technicality with the first loan they had for us with one lender, but they were able to quickly find another lender. I felt like, even though we never met face to face, we were more than just a number to Continental. I came to realize that in this market and with all the weird things going on in lending and real estate, what I wanted in the person doing my mortgage was accountability, expertise, and constant communication. The rate difference nowadays for a new purchase is not significant enough from broker to broker to warrant that as the final decision maker when selecting a loan. (However, I did get the best overall deal financially at Continental). Once Jeff and I finalized our deal, I dealt with Alex the majority of the time and found him to be very fast, patient and knowledgeable. You want somebody like Alex babysitting your paperwork and staying on everyone else's case, especially in a short sale. However, Jeff was always available to me in the event I had any issues. After encountering incredible frustration trying to re-finance with local Jacksonville banks - Bank of America and Wells Fargo (old mortgage holder) - along with USAA, I decided to go online to check if Angie's List had a category for this service. I was happy to see there was a mortgage category and ratings of a number of companies. After reviewing the companies listed and trying to do some online investigating, I chose to go with Continental out of Miami. My wife and I used a south Florida broker when we moved to Jacksonville from Minnesota back in 2004 and had a good experience that time so figured we'd try again. While I had some initial reservations using someone I could not sit across from and "eyeball" and get a feel for, from the moment I connected with Jeff Zerrer and his team, my anxiety level decreased and my confidence level increased. He offered me a great rate - over a half point lower than any of the other three banks had provided me in our initial discussions. And while I kept waiting for that rate to disappear and a higher rate take its place, that never happenned. Jeff eventually "locked in" my rate and even when circumstances (beyond Jeff's control) seemed to delay closing until after the rate lock period, Jeff indicated he would extend the lock at his expense. And with all of the hoops you now have to jump through for the banks to get things done, Jeff was was always available to help explain things and ease the way for accomplishing the necessary tasks. Ultimately, we got money back at closing and saved thousands of dollars going with Continental Mortgage as the closing estimates I got from my other banks were in the $6000+ range and we wound up paying around $4000. Jeff was even helpful in alerting me to agencies that could help with a friend's "underwater" mortgage. Jeff and Continental Mortgage do great work and are not only professional but friendly and personable, too. I highly recommend them.

I worked with Continental Mortgage on a refiance and they couldn't have done a better job. Jeff responds to emails almost instantly, and I never had a problem reaching him by phone. He also suggested a few things that saved me some money. I had a problem with some paperwork and Jeff worked with the lender and me to make sure everything worked out. I would choose them again.

I am 'extremely happy' that I have contacted Continental Mortgage from Angie's List for my mortgage, even though they live in a city that is 300 miles away from mine. Today, I can confidently say that Jeff and Alejandro are great professionals, hard working, dedicated, sincere and completely trustworthy people to work with. I started researching on my mortgage with big-name banks. I was not happy with FHA's initial 1% Mortgage Insurance fee and thereafter monthly PMI (which is double of conventional PMI) for 5 years irrespective of equity in the home. Those big banks were very eager to push me towards FHA and very reluctant to offer me a conventional loan. Their reasons were 'low down payment' (though I was willing to pay 10% down) and 'lower interest rate' in FHA loan compare to conventional. When I read the reviews of Continental Mortgage in Angie's List, I thought there is no harm in giving them a call and I was prepared to listen to the same thing once more. But now I can say that was the best thing I did. I asked what they can offer in terms of FHA and conventional. Without knowing my opinion on FHA, the very first thing Jeff said "FHA would not be a good thing for you as the PMI is very high". Bingo....he gave me exact reason that I was thinking all the time and big banks didn't want to tell me. That's not the end, he offered me the interest rate on a conventional loan that the big banks were offering me on FHA. I was sold. However, I always feared about not knowing them and not being in the same city. But today I can speak with complete confidence that Jeff and Alejandro have picked up my every call, I never had to leave a voice message. And they have responded my every email most of the time within few minutes. On my request, they meticulously copied all responses to my multiple email accounts all the time. They have guided me thru every step with confidence, answered many many questions with patience till end and got me the best deal I could have had. Actual closing cost turned out to be around $700 less than their estimates. Generally it takes a long time for the lender to approve a loan if PMI is involved. I had a tight closing date. They did their best to ensure that I closed on time. Everyone must contact Jeff and Alejandro at Continental Mortgage just to get an honest review and best deal. The Title/Closing agent (she is in my city) didn't know Continental Mortgage before my case and she couldn't believe how I could obtain such low conventional interest rate with only 10% down. She was all praise about Continental Mortgage's prompt and professional service remotely. Jeff and Alejandro responded my emails sometimes as late in the evenings and in the weekends. This is the best service one can expect from this industry.

I spoke with Jeff who really took the time to explain thre different costs and fees associated with the mortgage, The interest rate and fees were lower than what my own bank had quoted and they were always available by phone or email with prompt responses to my questions. I was extreemely satisfied with the overall experience from start to finish. I have obtained numerous mortgageswith various banks and mortgage companies over the years and Continental Mortgage was definitely the best I have ever used. I do not often write reviews for companies because I am rarely so satisfied and pleased that I want to take the time to do it but this was such a positive experience I wanted to share it with other members. I used Continental Mortgage to purchase a condo this year and I was very happy with the whole experience. I had heard horror stories about how hard it is to get a mortgage now. Although it was much more paperwork intensive than when I did my last mortgage (also with Continental), Jeff Zerrer held our hand and answered every question throughout the whole process. Although I have excellent credit and a steady job, just about every horror story you can dream up happened to me. I was working with another Broker when extra fees started pilling up. After reading a the GREAT reviews on Continental Mortgage, I decided it wouldn't hurt to give them a call. My first contact was with Jeff, he was very forthcoming on not just their fees, but explained the entire process in today's environment and how their company is structured to work for successful outcomes. Not only where their fees competitive, at the end of the process, I felt guilty that they worked so h****** my behalf. Continental Mortgage is NOT your typical Broker! In my option, they are so successful because they take a personal interest in everyone of their customers...this is not a job for these guys...its a passion to see customers get loans to meet their needs! There was nothing that I disliked about them and they were excellent.

From the first telephone call they were courteous, helpful and informative. They took the time to answer all of my questions and they offered several different mortgage options to choose from. I had also called my own bank several times before they would even return the call so I was pleasantly surprised that Continental not only offered a better interest rate but they were much more responsive and knowledgeable. I was extremely pleased and I already recommended them to my sister who says great things about them too.
